  • How long does your battery last? Looking to replace our Dyson as it's battery is more terrible

    • Advertised power levels are accurate. I can run it on medium for half an hour and it takes me less to do a run around of what the robovac misses.

    • You can buy a 3rd party dyson battery from places like Amazon. Would be cheaper than buying a whole new vacuum if it still works well.

Never trust Viomi again. Shithouse battery in their Viomi S9 robot vacuum which is perfectly timed to die just outside of warranty. Just do a search on Viomi S9 battery and see for yourself.

This Viomi stick vacuum is almost guaranteed to be another Trouver based on how poorly their robot vacuum battery lasts

Trouver never had anything to do with Xiaomi whatsoever. Their battery cells were perfectly fine and it was basically the BMS that was shitting itself. Now Trouver doesn't exist - no wonder.

Fortunately spare batteries for the Viomi A9 exist and there's other brands licensed with their batteries compatible. I know of about 4 other different brands, so batteries are easy to come by currently.

        • True but ideally you shouldn't have to worry about buying another battery in 12 months. My Dyson lasted 5yrs

@0 0 0: It's not a comparison for the Viomi A9 as it hasn't existed for 5 years yet. Your Dyson battery certainly would have degraded in 5 years and it would be really stupid to suggest that spare batteries shouldn't be a thing.

An added bonus of a spare battery for this is being able to run on max mode for longer.

@Clear: My main point is the track record of Viomi is questionable as proven by their robot vacuums.

              • @0 0 0: Own a Viomi V2 pro and A9. Both of them have been working fine for the past one year. No issues with battery till now. Gives me the stated battery life.

True OZbargainers used their Credit Card to buy the product and get a 3rd year of warranty.

      speed 1, 1 hour
      speed 2, 30 minutes
      speed 3, 10 minutes

Very happy with it. So convenient it'll make you vacuum more often.

I paid $199 at Aldi a few month ago.

  • How does this compare to Dyson V7? Apart from the price? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/762799

  • Are these a lesser quality than the old Xiaomi Dreame V9?

I still have my V9 no problems and yet I see complaints about the battery on this one.

  • I bought one from aldi 2 years ago, it stopped working after 2 weeks, so i got my refund from aldi. I could be the unlucky one..

Xiaomi phone are value for money, they oem many good products but definitely not this Vacuum cleaner. These are suck! The design has programs. It may damage your health, may even cause lung's cancer! Spend a bit more to get a proper Dyson!

I have no idea what you're trying to say - can you please elaborate?

I think they're saying their dyson is a much better crack pipe than a xiaomi.

So much to unpack in this comment.

I'm not a doctor or anything but I suspect if you smoke your vacuum cleaner your going to get lung cancer even if it's a Dyson.
