Suction is better on these since they use a bypass instead of a hose.
But overall I like the shark. It's less loud and swapping between soft floor and hard floor modes is way better.

Upright vacuums in general are terrible and always wonder why anyone would want one. If you want corded power get a canister!
Upright vacs are way better than canister vacs.
By what measure? I used to do a bit of a side gig as a cleaner and would always cringe when the client pulled out an upright. Terrible ergonomics with a lot of weight being put on your wrist, and the design of the vacuum itself precluded getting under furniture without having to pull the vacuum apart (big time waste). There are so many great canister vacuums (Miele), Backpack (Pacvac) or Cordless (Dyson)… you still haven’t helped me understand.
All I know is that they both suck
I have an older gen version of this and it worked well for me.
No losses through the hose.
Also smaller form factor for storing and they don't drag behind, scratch furniture or walls or tip over.
There's obviously a market for them.
How does this compare to the corded shark one? Or something like a v11
