is v7 significnatly better than v6?

any other better options at this price range? dreame?

      • +7

V7 advanced isn't a V7. It has the motor and battery of the V8 so is 15% more powerful and has the larger battery, being 40 mins on low suction without motorised tools vs 20 on the V6. Also gets the anti tangle motorbar floor head now which is a nice inclusion.
Also of note is that the bin emptying is much better than v6 and is less prone to dust jamming it up.

TBH, in most use cases v6 cleaning performance is fine (for me at least)

the upgraded version after v6 are
      - better in battery performance => longer run time
      - better design => eg. easier release and clean of dust bin, removable battery from v11 etc
      - more features => eg. more tools, digital display from v11, laser dirt detection from v12 etc

But nothing wrong with v6 that you can still make the floor clean (just need a few more back and forth vacuuming)

  • Don't forget the upto 10% Cashback

  • Is this worth it compared to the V8 with the fluffy head or the v10 cyclone?

    • Links and price difference?

    • The V7 advanced range are V8s in disguise, just with less tools. Fluffy head is worthwhile if you have more than half hardfloors

      • +2

I Bought the V7 Advanced, If I was to buy fluffy head does it need to compatible for V7 or V8, or does it not matter?

Should I go for a genuine version?

        Thanks,

        • I bought it too. Looks like V7/V8 heads are the same. I'd be keen to know whether genuine is worthwhile though, as you can get the knock offs for < half the price.

        • +3

The V8 fluffy/soft roller head is the main one sold nowadays, that should work V7-11 at least.
I wouldn’t recommend knock offs for any powered tools since they have more chance of damaging the vacuum’s battery, non motorised tools I reckon have at it though. If you buy anything, don’t buy the dodgy mop heads that shonky brands sell online, good chance they’ll kill the machine.

Do you need to pay with afterpay to use the code?

  • +14

I've got 3 of these - Can personally recommend them.

We previously had 2 of the $99 Trouver Power 11 Sticks - Batteries useless after 2 months - I'll never buy cheap Stick Vacs again

The first one (D7) came with a wall mount, sadly, that's no longer the case.

Use them in our retail shops and at home.
Retails Shops - Plants - lots of dirt, etc - No problems
Home - Cat hair, human hair - No problems

    I purchased the floor-standing units here - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/133893769221
Alternatively, after market wall mount - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/354379311149
And the extension kit here - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/154583116277

We've had the DC-30/35's previously - Always had battery issues.
No longer seems to be an issue with the D7

  • Sorry a little confused, so is this truly a V8 minus the heads/accessories just branded as a V7? i.e. Replacement batteries, filters, etc will be same as V8?

    • I dont think so - https://moderncastle.com/vacuum-cleaner-reviews/dyson-v7-vs-…

But happy to be proven wrong

      • +1

        This is V7 Origin, different

Basically a V8 according to employee

      • +1

yeah, but as per original poster, he seems to think so. Could it be this 'V7 Advanced Origin' model differs from the stock standard v7's? would love to know, as I've got an 8yr old v8 that seems to be on it's last legs after changing battery every 2 years, and filters, heads etc, just feels like it needs a refresh but got a bunch of spare batteries and filters I'd like to re-use!

Dyson and their range of models has to be the single stupidest productisation I've ever seen. It's like Toyota releasing a new model of Camry every year but 20 years later, they still make the model they made 20 iterations ago.

    • lol it's actually commercially ingenious - imagine if toyota could still sell production levels of 2010 camry's whilst actively marketing their latest non-EV 2023 models!

      • Probably the clearest example of marketing returning the money spent, in spades.
Dyson sell OK vacuums that somehow have about 500 different concurrent SKU's for a device that just has to suck things up from the ground, made from 100% disposable plastic components that a dozen other brands are all doing just as well but without the billions of marketing money spent to buy peoples opinion. I just…ugh.

        • Love em or hate em their sucking products work and have a complete lock on the market!

  • Can anyone please tell me whether this Motorbar™ cleaner head can be used for hybrid board? Thnaks.

    • yes

  • Been waiting on something similar to this for a while, I don't have a suitable location for a dock - but just incase anyone wants one does anyone know what model dock is suitable?

    Cheers!

  • +3

Is this okay for hard wood floors? Or would I need to buy the fluffy head like the one that comes with the v8

    • This is also my concern and if you see above impoze has said yes.

    • Following as well… now sure this suitable for hard floor

  • Does anyone know whether the v6 absolute dock and accessories will work with this?

  • +2

I use them on the following with no issues whatsoever.
    - hard wood floors
    - laminate flooring
    - concrete flooring
    - thick carpet on stairs and upstairs bedrooms
    - rubber flooring (we use Ute rubber in our plant shops as flooring)
    - rugs

  • When I check out it says wrong code, anyone got the same situation?

    • you need to use afterpay for payment method

  • So I have got a V8 Absolute plus Circa 2017/18.
It has been hardly used but has a cracked head and ready to retire.
Will the attachments on this old one fit on this unit?

    • To my knowledge, V7 and V8 attachments are interchangable. Happy to be proven wrong.

  • This or the viomi a9?

  • Coupon invalid, despite choosing afterpay as payment method..

  • same for me

  • Worked for me. Thanks!

  • Coupon worked when tried in incognito window. Probably caching issue.. Either clear cache/cookies or try incognito.
Wasn't working for me in usual window. Didn't clear cache/cookies though.

Just checked the afterpay deals, it looks like you need eBay Plus for this. Can anyone confirm?

    • Nope, I just purchased it with afterpay. the code only works when using afterpay.

      • I'm using the afterpay payment method, code still doesn't work..

        • try clearing browser history, cache and cookie, if doesn't work try incognito, if still doesn't work - create a new gmail account and signup into ebay with that accout, it'll surely work.

          • @vikaskamboj: Tried incognito as mentioned above, doesn't work either. Had my partner to do it on a different account and that worked.

  • The code doesn't work anymore

    • +1

      Clear your cache

      • Thanks. Jeez you are being more helpful than the eBAY CS.

  • +1

Thanks OP, I have just bought one using afterpay. My old V6 has just died, very good price.

Bunnings price matched it and gave further 10% discount

      • Bunnings price matched $296 and gave further 10% price beat discount.
        Final Price $266

  • mine arrived today, works nice, shame they don't even provide the wall bracket

    • Mine arrived Monday but I wasn't home - works really well. At this price I can't blame them for not including the wall bracket - at RRP i could.
