Great price for Fetta. This is delicious - I enjoy it on toast or in a salad. I like that Danish fetta is spreadable, hence great on toast.

Nice! Might have to stock up again. Had a few blocks in the freezer from last time it was on sale. Great to thaw and use in something like a quiche.
Is it in the deli section? I checked the website and you can order in 100gm lots so I guess it must be.
Yes - from the deli.
The legit stuff holds up better in salads, this is really good though imo
You’re right the Greek style is much firmer. I kind of like how this semi disintegrates and gets a little Fetta on all the ingredients. If you toss it through with some olive oil it kind of forms a dressing in its own right. Best done straight before serving.
Just noting this is called fetta, not feta, because it has little to do with Greek feta, but the marketing department wants you to think otherwise.
It's loaded with palm oil, so yeah, those bits that melts on your pizzas and salads is salty oil.
I bet few Danes know there's a market for a thing called "Danish fetta". There's no tradition, only cheap, more unhealthy imitation and riding the fancy "European" wave.
Username checks out!
100% I used to fall for this crap for a long time until someone made me aware of the spelling (Fetta instead of Feta) and I looked closer into it; though I did not need to look really close to learn wat garbage it is. Never bought it again since.
Instead we always bulk buy Greek or Bulgarian Sheep and/or Goat Milk Feta now.Can you share your fav brands?
I wouldnt have even imagined this was with palm oil. Thank you for opening my eyes. Im gonna stick to the legit greek feta in the plastic tubs.
Gross, will definitely avoid the palm oil. Thanks for the heads up.
I have unknowingly been buying this crap for a while but wouldn’t anymore..thanks mate.

Yes Danish Fetta is a different cheese to Greek feta. I think the palm oil is just to give it the soft texture - I like this as I use it as a spread.
Most people in Australia probably eat way more palm oil than they know about as it’s only labelled as vegetable oil in Aus. The only reason it’s obvious in this instance that the ingredient list is likely based on Danish rules.
For me the main issue with palm oil is environmental - I’m not as fussed about the nutrition especially in small quantities.
I thought palm oil was healthy?
I think it depends on how it’s been processed and who you ask. I’ve heard lots of theories here and it gets caught up in the plight to save forests (worthy), but potentially misleading when it comes to nutrition.
Why would you buy feta cheese with palm oil?
From the comments it's because of the qualities opposite to the original feta, ironically.
I wonder why people don't just buy regular Danish feta.. they can add their own oil if they want to.
Feta + olive oil + capsicum - Best combo
Great cheese, But woolies you are still more expensive than some other smaller supermarkets. I'd buy from the cheapest source.
Great, cheap cheese!
Oh bother, nutritional issues, now I have to go a Googling.
There might not be much palm oil in this stuff.Fat per 100g: total 17g Saturated 1.2g
https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/palm-oil#TOC_TITLE_HDR_…
Those guys tell me palm oil is 50% saturated fat, this cheese is only 1.2g (%) saturated so couldn't be more than 2.4% palm oil. Probably less 'cause there's milk in it.
Palm oil doesn't seem to be an extreme health issue in small quantities so I think I'll give it a go.Maybe @pizzaguy can quantify "loaded" for you.
I saw your "tag" and felt called to the blackboard.
Yup, I agree with The Magic Pudding and their calculations. Also Greek feta has usually more fat than this feta-wannabe.
It's still a product that's designed to trick people into thinking it's an original thing.
There are no negative health impacts to consuming Palm Oil. In fact, it might do you some good.
Besides, like The Magic Pudding has suggested, it is in such minute quantities that you would barely notice it.What's the best way to store this stuff? I hate it when white cheese smells like ass
Freeze in containers
The Woolworths website is wrong, label from 4kg tin of this cheese purchased from Woolworths.
Saturated fat is 9.9%
