  • Any idea if this would work with an M32U 4k monitor (not max refresh rate) with an M1 macbook pro through one of its Thunderbolt ports?

    • Don’t see why not.

  • dex compatible?

It said Galaxy phone, should be OK.

Do you need anything higher than 60hz if just watching movies?

    • +1

Here is a complete list of movies in history that are higher than 60hz…
2018 -Aquarela Victor Kossakovsky Russian, English, Spanish 96 Documentary, projected at 48 fps

So the answer is no ?

        • +2

Yes. Though Gerry Harvey did come on ACA to announce the biggest thing in TV's now is 100Hz and higher and we should be going down to Harvey Norman to buy a TV as he has never seen better prices.

Loved this movie. Was so drawn in to the cinematography, the dynamism of the colours was outstanding, the story beyond anything I've ever known, how it didn't do so much better and get the nod for a little gold statue I will never know.

Oh hold on, sorry, that was Weekend at Bernie's.

    • Most streams and video files that you get are 30FPS or 24FPS anyway. Fast games like CS:GO with gaming monitors can profit from the slightly lower latencies a bit, that's why 120Hz or 144Hz are common there, but for movies and series not at all.

  • 10ft gone

OOS, 3FT still have 30% off

  • "Plug & Play", are you sure I don't need an extra USB cable to power a portable monitor up?

    • Anything requiring USB power is still going to require USB power, as HDMI input on a device is designed for HDMI, not USB specifications.

If your portable monitor is USB C input, you'll need to check if it's DP Alt Mode, which is DisplayPort specifications, not HDMI (i.e. DP Alt mode is from the sender - usually laptops, and a passive cable doesn't convert to this format).

Same as one of the review comment, I don't understand why people asked, how can HDMI cable charge your phone?

"My phone goes flat while using this sometimes as it doesnt charge which is a pain, you can get ones that have a charger connection as well which I would get next time I buy one, but its a nice long cheap and light cable it seems to work pretty well so far. I havent had any connection issues or quality problems at all using my phone watching videos on my tv."

        • There was never a question about it before. But now that USB Type-C cables are so varied, some transmit power, some don’t etc. it’s no longer clear what cables actually do any more. What is written on the box is usually insufficient to determine whether the cable does what you think it will do. And that’s apparently bled through to HDMI now.

  • 3Ft showing up as $13.49 and 6FT showing up as $11.25.

  • Exactly what i needed

These are very useful if you don't have a dock.
