not unless the above link listed all products in $ with free shipping. It is not a dupe IMO.

Warning: issues with the Nexus phone.

      • Hmmm I wasn't aware of this from those Android sites I read daily..

      • never realised this problem was so common.. my nexus has never had a charging issue with stockie. However, 3rd party charger i had lying around that i bought for my galaxy s1 fails to charge my device.. if that helps…

      • Woah that's pretty disappointing that such a major issue has not yet been addressed since January, reportedly not even the Jelly Bean upgrade solved it.. I was looking at getting a GNex but now I'm not so sure

        • My Nexus is fine and given the number of phones sold it probably isn't that common of an issue.

          I wouldn't worry about it.

        • The reason I found that link was because my mate's nexus was broken in 2 months due to the reason in the link. He purchased the phone from a vodafone reseller. The thing is everyone is happy with their phone untill one day it stops working hence the frustration. If it's under warranty, it will be fine or else someone will be out of pocket for an unnecessary event.

      • I've been charging my GNexus using the stock charger + various other chargers from HTC phones and my Optus MyTab, sourcing from either the wall or from USB host… 3 months now and never had an issue.

As nanoronline mentioned here, we have no idea where problematic GNexus are sourced. Maybe those affected on OzBargain can tell us where they bought their phone?

  • can i recommend if anyone buys this to also grab the 2000mah official extended battery? the stock one is just so damn painful

    • Do you know where to get in Australia other than ordering online?

      • If your in Sydney try Global star communication at chatswood

        • I'm in Melbourne and I have no idea :S

        • Telstra shop has them for around 30-35 bucks.

        • Do I have to ask the staff? I checked Telstra Melbourne Central and Bourke and both didn't display under their accessories shelves. Unless they got rid of the stocks now that they no longer officially offer the phone on contacts?

    • if u change the battery size to the 2000mah for example, do u have to recalibrate the battery..? or does the phone automatically recognise a bigger battery inserted?

      • Automatic.

        • sweet. gotta get me one of those.. or else hit up a few spares lol.. my battery dies everyday on the drive home from work

        • Get a car charger?

        • hahah cig lighter in the car has stopped powering.. 1st world problems.. lol

  • edit-double post sorry

  • Argh I just bought this from Kogan last Saturday! I remember reading others here who experienced the price of their phones bought from Kogan dropped just a few days after purchase and managed to be refunded by Kogan..is that still happening?

    • I'd just try, though the phone is still actually the same price, they're just have a free shipping promo for today.

      • Ya I ended up emailing them and I wondered whether they would honour the shipping price.. But $19 is still a big save :S

        • Kogan gave me a $50 refund when my phone dropped in price that much 2 odd days after I bought it. No guarantee they'll do it for you but certainly worth trying.

        • I suppose it was a useless attempt since they didn't reply and now the free shipping is no more -.-

  • Thinking of getting another for family member BUT:
Looks like I am now experiencing the issue:

Phone is just over 1 month old :(

And you're using the same stock battery and stock charger that came with the phone? And may I ask if it's imported or Australian stock?

I realised the Google site where everyone commented about their problems never mentioned where they got their phones and how they treated it etc which have not been any useful.

    • Do not have this issue. Got the phone from Vodaphone, still stock battery. on Custom ICS rom.

  • Hmm the Galaxy Nexus is getting real cheap. I'm torn between replacing my 3GS now with it or waiting until the "Nexus 4" which is most certainly in just a few months.

Of course I can still buy the Galaxy Nexus at an even cheaper price when the "Nexus 4" comes out if I don't like it or think its too expensive.

    Any thoughts?

Get the Galaxy Nexus, still a while for the Nexus 4, and if you buy it when it just comes out, you will be paying a premium.

      • exactly my thoughts

  • just like to chip in that my nexus from kogan arrived whats interesting is that the power connector inside the box is actually an AUS connector.. + the additional one Kogan provide.. you get 2x.

I bought mine on Sat and it arrived on Friday so 6 days.

    • Then did you find out what stock is that Nexus from? Australian stock?

  • ordered and paid on 31th
    not even shipped yet……..

    • Maybe they just haven't updated the delivery status.

  • Ordered mine late on the free shipping night (31/7) and it arrived this morning (6/7), about 6 days. The Samsung charger inside the nexus box is not the AUS one, the extra one is though :) seems to be mixed results with these.
