[eBay Plus] 0% Variable Fee on Next 5 Sales before 31/3 by Eligible Sellers (Activation Required) @ eBay

2580

Back again for March, another great offer from eBay Plus and now has been increased to 5 listings :)

If you're not currently an eBay Plus member, you should be able to pay $4.99 for a monthly subscription to be eligible for this deal.

Terms and Conditions

When does the promotion run?

The promotion runs from 00:00 (AEDT) on 1 March 2023 and ends on 11:59pm (AEDT) 31 March 2023 (“Promotion Period”).

Who is eligible for this Promotion?

"Eligible Sellers” means sellers registered on eBay.com.au who:

  • have Australia or New Zealand as their registered address on eBay; and
  • have an active eBay Plus membership; and
  • Eligible Sellers must activate the promotion in order to receive the promotion.

To activate this promotion, Eligible Sellers must have received an invitation to participate in this promotion and accepted these Terms and Conditions by either clicking “Accept offer” on the Terms and Conditions page or clicking “Get offer” under the “promotional offers” section of your My eBay account; and received confirmation from eBay that “you’ve accepted the offer”.

Once you have accepted the offer, the promotion will be automatically assigned to your account and will be visible within My eBay.
The invitation to participate in this promotion is not transferable or exchangeable.

For the avoidance of doubt, you will not receive the discount if the promotion was not activated in accordance with these terms.

What is the Promotion?

The Promotion entitles Eligible Sellers, who have activated this promotion in accordance with these terms, to 0% variable fees (which is a component of Final Value Fees as defined on eBay.com.au) on 5 sales per Promotion Period on Eligible Listings.

“Eligible Listings” means item listings that are:

  • newly listed on eBay.com.au during the Promotion Period (i.e. they cannot be relisted items through ‘Good ‘til Cancelled (GTC) or auto-renewal);
  • in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; and
  • not listed in one of the Excluded Categories (as defined below).

The variable fees will be discounted directly from the eBay seller fees applicable to the Eligible Listings when they are sold.

This promotion only applies to the variable fees on Eligible Listings that are sold during the Promotion Period.

eBay reserves the right to cancel or change the offer at any time.

Items listed in the following categories are excluded from the Promotion (“Excluded Categories”):

  • Websites & Businesses for Sale (11759), Aircraft (63676), Boats (26429), Caravans, Motorhomes (32633), Cars (29690), Motorcycles (32073), Trucks, Commercial Vehicles (6049), Real Estate (10542), Services (316), Flights (3253), Tickets (1305), Travel (3252), Gift Cards (172009). These Excluded Categories are in addition to any listings or categories restricted by eBay's prohibited and restricted items policies.

  • The Promotion only applies to variable fees (a component of your Final Value Fees). For the avoidance of doubt, the Promotion does not apply to the $0.30 (incl GST) fixed order fee for non-store subscribers (or otherwise have registered for a tax exempt status with eBay) or $0.33 fixed order fee (incl GST) for store subscribers, fees for optional features or services (including Feature Fees), international selling fees or any other fees set out at eBay.com.au, as varied from time to time. See our help pages on Selling fees without an eBay Store, eBay Stores selling fees, eBay Stores fees for registered businesses, as applicable, for more information.

Enjoy :)

Now Ebay Plus is worth it :)

    • +1

I thought it was worth it before but now it's shot right up to the no. 1 spot in terms of value.

      • +3

Only if you got something to sell

    • What happens if it is my last day of eBay Plus monthly subscription and I have added a listing for sale and it ends up selling the day after?
Am I still looking at the 0% Variable Fee?

    • +1

For people who are frequent buyers and semi-frequent sellers, I would recommend EBay Plus. Avoiding almost 14% in fees is great when selling higher value items like electronics.

  • +9

For anyone that might be wondering, if you list an item during the promotion period and it sells within the original listing period but after the promo expires, the promo still seems to count e.g. list something before 31 March 2023 under this promo and it sells after the promo ends on 2 April 2023 it should still have a 0% variable fee as long as the listing didn't get renewed or anything. Just sold an item under similar circumstances a few days ago and no final value fees were deduced and ebay has already paid out for the transaction.

    • +4

You can also relist item on the last day to get full benefit, that is what I do if it doesn't get sold within the promo period.

      • +17

Just a clarification, make sure not to "relist" the item, instead either "Sell Similar" of the current listing or create a brand new listing entirely. Relisting using the "relist" button on the current listing isn't eligible as per the terms, it has to be a brand new listing ID.

        • +1

Yes, correct. I wasn't talking about relist function.
Don't use relist function rather list as new item or sell similar as mentioned.

          • +1

@lufee: Damn, loved the diplomatic answer, games of relist.

      • Wait ….. So you can list an item on the last day of the promotion and if it sells before the listing 'renews' itself, even outside of the promo period, you will still get the 0% fee on it?

Last month I actually ended an item on the last day as when I read the following, it seems to suggest it has to be sold within the period?

"This promotion only applies to the variable fees on Eligible Listings that are sold during the Promotion Period."

It would be pretty good if you can create a new listing on the last day and still have this promo applied!

        • +2

I was unsure about the wording too but I just sold on item on 4 March from the Feb promo with 0% fees.

          • @eecan: wow, thanks for confirming - this is a really good tip @eecan. Thanks!

    • +1

Oh you’re one of those people

  • +2

Whatever you do, DO NOT relist an item - it won't be eligible for this promo.

I spent between 16 Jan and 20 Feb for an outcome regarding the money they owed me via this promo (nearly $100) via the January offer, which they kept and stole. It took about 8 attempts via support to get this money which they 'were looking into' well over a month. The outcome was, they advised the money couldn't be returned as I 'relisted' the item. Not bad service from ebay to a customer with well-over 22 years with ebay.

A great promo, but be aware of their TnC!

    • If you did it once they generally give you benefit of doubt and return the funds they did that for me anyways. If you do it multiple times they wont care as that will fall on you for not reading the terms properly. Sounds like you had multiple items.

Always best to read the terms of conditions before you you use these coupons. You can also sell similar item which is almost the same as relist and that generally works and no fees are applied.

    • So…what did eBay do wrong here? Seems like a fine response.

They gotta spoon feed you a plainly written T&Cs page that's a few paragraphs long? It's not even a "gotcha", it's just a reasonable limitation of the promo. And as above comments, you can abuse it till the very last minute of the promo period to get a full more 30days.

    • +2

I don’t think it’s fair to use language like “stole” when every single month these deals have been posted (since late last year), the deals have been littered with comments about “Do not use relist! Do not use relist! For the love of god, whatever you do - do not use relist!”

I think you might have to blame yourself a bit for this one.

  • +1

    Awesome deal!

Does it work if you just sell similar for a previous ad ??

  • +5

Pairs nicely with this offer : 3 FREE LABELS WITH SENDLE

    • Can't seem to find SENDLE as my shipping carriers

      • +4

It won't show up if your delivery or sending addresses are PO Boxes or parcel lockers, maybe just double check your sending address first as that is the first point of failure to remove Sendle from options for shipping. If the buyer asked for one of these as their delivery address, can't do much then.

    • +2

That would be fantastic if Sendle actually, you know, worked. I've largely stopped using their service and just stuck to AusPost, even though it's more expensive I find it's way more reliable than Sendle's network. Sure, the shipping is 'free' but you may end up wasting so much time trying to resolve problems that it's just not worth it in the end. 1 star - would not Sendle again.

      • +2

I only use Sendle when there's a promotion. It's usually only slightly cheaper than Auspost but without the speed and reliability.

I dropped off a package at my local agent last Wednesday. It was still there when I went to drop off another package on Monday.

        • +2

I stopped using them for most of my sending when the local agent took two weeks to show up to collect a parcel. I told him, "Sorry, I got tired of waiting so I posted it instead". He offered a lame excuse of 'we have a busy time' or something like that, but it really turned me off. I think it comes down to who has the local agency - if they care then you get good service, but if they don't then it really sucks.

        • +1

Agreed, it's a shockingly unprofessional service. I grimace every time Amazon sends my items via Sendle (more specifically, Couriers Please).

Still, free is free, and for bulky items, that's a big saving. Anything less than 50% discount though, I wouldn't touch them.

          • @ash2000: I've had nothing but good experiences with Sendle. Next day pickups from my house and fast, efficient delivery with tracking. I must be in the lucky minority :)

            • @Windows7forever: It all comes down to your driver. Good driver good experience.

Unfortunately, I'm in an area with a high turnover of drivers. They receive no training, and ultimately rarely last more than a couple of weeks.

    • How big of a box can I send?

      • I send one at 45x45x40cms that was at the absolute maximum before Sendle greyed out and became unavailable.
Also up to 20Kg I think

        • Perfect thanks mate.

          • +1

@Sheng: Sorry I was looking at the one above when checked my notes, actually it was bigger 62x 40x 40cm and 20Kg
Hahah I was going to double check in the comment edit period

  • Thanks OP.

  • Where can I find this to activate? I can’t find it in messages.

    • +1

Press the link in the OP, it's a direct link to activate.

  • +2

Increase to 5 is great! Thanks :)

  • +7

Don't forget to screen capture the offer acceptance.

TBF I've had no issues with these recently. Thanks for picking up your game eBay.

    • Agreed. Used to have to battle them most times but have been good the past few months. Still, get screenshots!

  • Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you.

    • Are you an eBay plus member?

      • I am an eBay Plus member and received the same message.

Is there any way around this?

        • Are you logged in?

            • @Barry off EastEnders: Hmmmm. No idea then.

              • +1

@MS Paint: Last time when I signed up to Plus specifically for this deal, it had the same error but after a few days it went away and the promo accepted

                • +1

@I Smell Pennies: Yep I experienced the same when I first signed up to eBay plus for a similar deal late last year. If you signed up to eBay Plus after this deal went live (or maybe even just before), wait a few days and you should be able to accept it. If you were already an eBay Plus member from well before this deal started, then there's something wrong and you'll need to contact eBay.

        • Give them a call

  • +1

    Thanks OP

5 Listings - thats the spirit

  • So just to confirm, if I create a single listing with a quantity of two, and they both sell, there'll be no fees on the second one that sells? I think in the past each item had to have a separate listing to count, but I guess they changed it if this is no longer the case.

Edit: Missed the following in the OP:

“Eligible Listings” means item listings that are:

    newly listed on eBay.com.au during the Promotion Period (i.e. they cannot be relisted items through ‘Good ‘til Cancelled (GTC) or auto-renewal);
in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; and
not listed in one of the Excluded Categories (as defined below).

  • This working for anyone who just signed up for the trial?

  • Not sure if it was just a glitch or not but thought I mention that last month I used sell similar to list an item via the eBay app and for some reason I did get charged a fee.

    • That is the transaction fee I got charged 30c as well.

      • What I mean is that I got charged the full fee for the one listed via the eBay app for some reason. The others listed via PC on browser worked fine.

        • Interesting… not sure if it only works on PC / browser then and not the app?

  • Commenting to remind myself

  • How quickly does the count of used offers update? An hour after posting three items:

    Used/Left:0Promotional offers – 0 used, 5 left. / 5

Zero used. Three fixed price items listed in Coins/Australian/Decimal.

    • +4

It will update to 1 used once you sell, the counter doesn't move until you sell rather than just listing.

      • Thanks for the quick reply, and setting my mind at ease. I was worried my listings may not have been eligible.

      • Thanks, came here to find that exact answer for my new listings.

  • Is anyone an eBay Plus member that is not able to activate this offer?

  • +1

Pleasantly surprised they increased it to 5 slots, I'm cautiously optimistic for the future.

  • Remember it counts the 5 things you sell first. Not the 5 things you posted first.

Don't waste it on cheap items.

    • Yes, I was thinking about this too. I've posted two expensive items tonight, but the problem is they might not sell for a few weeks or even longer. I'm going to have to refrain from posting anything cheap.

It appears I'll need to cancel the listings before the end of March if they do not sell:

"This promotion only applies to the variable fees on Eligible Listings that are sold during the Promotion Period."

      • +1

        See above https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13466314/redir
This is the same phrasing as they used in the last promo but you were able to have it sell after the promo period ended and still get no fee as long as it was listed during the promo. So if your item doesn't sell by the 31st, you can cancel it and create a new listing to restart the promo. (Assuming eBay doesn't fix this)

  • Thanks OP! Been waiting for this to sell my PSVR!

  • So does this work if I list 20 things during the promotional period and the first 5 that sell will get the fees removed?

If so, that's much better than their old promotions where you list 5 items and only those 5 would get the fees removed IF they sold. If they didn't. Too bad.

    • +1

That's correct, you can list as many as you want, the first 5 that sell will have zero variable fees if you listed them after activating.

      • But it still holds the 13.4% fixed fee?

  • Guys I get confused every time, just to clarify, these are free listings? So if I sell an eligible item for say $1000, how much am I left with after? Is there a fixed fee of a few cents or something? Just want to make sure lol

    • +1

If you sell an item with this promotion, all you will pay is $0.30 in fees (fixed for every sale), so you will net $999.70 on a $1000 sale. This promotion doesn't relate to listing fees, it relates to the sale variable fees.

The only other charges payable otherwise are additional listing fees (such as subtitle or specific fees) which most likely won't be payable for a general sale unless you opt for them in the listing creation (they are explained in the listing screen).

      • Thank you for clarifying!

  • So my dreams of shipping monitor arms for free and no sales fee has come true?

Q: Can someone answer how big 0.1m3 with a visual/example of the size? Answered in the thread.

  • I'm a big fan of these deals and I'll continue to be an eBay Plus member as long as they're around. Since late last year I've treated it like a side hustle, and it doubles as a good way to get rid of old junk.

  • Does revising the listing get rid of the no seller fee? Or is it only relisting?

    • I revise listing all the time, still works. As long as the listing was made after u accepted the promo, u can revise as much as you want

    • No issue with auction listings when I sold something.

  • Have to say made 4 sales already of items that had been languishing on Gumtree. Some larger items as well so the free Sendle came in handy. Nothing particularly expensive, just a clean out. Hopefully will revisit next month! Renewed my eBay Plus just for this.

  • Can somebody confirm if listings made on the eBay get no fees?

  • +1

Used all my free listings up already and was just offered another 5 more free listings today valid from 12/03 to 31/03

    • +1

      nice

    • Did you also get another 3 free postages with sendle after you used the first 3?

      • +1

No, I just found out there are no more free Sendle postages applying to my recently sold item

  • Im not sure yet as I still have one free Sendle delivery left.

  • Is this eligible for fixed fee buy it now without a very low auction starting bid?

    • Yes

      • Can you please tell me how? It tells me to put an auction starting price 30% below the buy it now price. Thanks!

        • Just ignore ebay's "suggestions" and just put a buy it now price and leave the auction part blank

  • +2

Noticed that my free Sendles have changed to use by 20/03, so it looks like they are pulling it early

    • +1

Thanks for the information. I guess many sellers who sell things in the next few days will get a shock when they realise they have to pay for the postage?

    • Glad I used mine up and didn't hold out for a bulkier sale.

  • +3

    Woah guys!
Now we have 10 free Sendles OR Australia Post labels for the rest of the month.
    Bonus!
