this, is really old tech in all honesty

tegra 4 is out early next year for comparison

    • +2

ipad 5 is coming next year. you should consider this to your tegra 4 tab as a fair comparison.

It's July, who cares what's coming out sometime NEXT YEAR?

While we're at this, the current quad core are old tech compared to the penta core processor coming out in 2020. Jeez guys. I have

While the deal is very good, the tablet itself isnt. I bought one about a year ago, it feels laggy and even laggier since its ICS update. While it has a few good features like, infra-red device control, e.g. tv, dvd player and so on, i personally wouldnt buy one now having used a samsung galaxy tablet. I consider the samsung tablets to be more smoother UI and more community support for customs roms. Sony tablet S currently has 1 custom rom which is not even that good.

  • It's a brick!

funny. some people are comparing this tablet with future unknown models (as usual).

    • Well it's both a fair and unfair comparison. If something's coming out in a month or so then the comparison is fair as it allows you to decide if the discounted price is worth the purchase of about-to-be-obsoleted tech.

If it's around a year from now then unfair. There's always something better to be had around a year from now.

  • well all i want to know is tablet S a good PDF reader? (without installing any paid apps)

    • yes but it doesnt need to be a tablet s. Any android tablet is able to use the the same free adobe app to open pdfs.

  • I've had the Xoom and Acer a200.. similar processor.. a200 was on ics.. if you have a PDF file that is larger than 100 pages then get a quad core instead.. even under 100 bugs its only just bearable

    • my pdfs normally are over 100 pages.. do you mean it'll lag if reading on this tegra 2 processor?
I'm just looking for a budget tablet to read my pdfs..

The comments in the link might help you decide.

        • yes it will lag with the tegra 2.. I was using the a200 for uni in which I would add textbooks into main storage.. pages would take a while to load and i dont think its quite user friendly ie.. if i had to move to chapter 9.. i would have to scroll
