Can you cancel after the first one ships? I've never done these before

    • +6

      after delivered you can cancel

      • +15

to be extra careful set the next few weeks to "skip" as well

        • If you try to 'skip' next week, go back to the current week and check your order summary - It takes off the discount and you'll have to pay $100+
Now I have unskipped next week. The question is, when will they charge for the second box?

          • +1

@AdiOZ: I've skipped the next couple of weeks and the discount still remains in the order summary. but concerned about the payment though, Plan setting shows 134.99 for weekly subscription and next payment date is 25th feb.

            • +1

@JuiceWRLD: @JuiceWRLD You're right. It took me a few tries but it's working now. Skipped next week atm, hoping they don't charge for the second box until next Friday. As they have no reason to charge 10 days in advance. Fingers crossed

            • +1

@JuiceWRLD: I'm thinking the 25th Feb payment is the $10 for the first box, which I haven't been charged for yet.

          • @AdiOZ: I have the same issue, the promo was removed from the current week after I have skipped the following three weeks..

      • You need to cancel by the order cut-off time. There's some exceptions where you can call them the next morning (before payment processing) to cancel over the phone. Had to do it once as was leaving to go on holidays and didn't want the food to go to waste on the doorstep.

By the way, I noticed referrals differ on account age. Some family had their accounts for a few years, and they can send (by invite) free boxes and get $70 per referral. New joiners only get offered $15 - $25 per referral.

        • When people order the first box, just skip box 2 and 3 at the same time. Then it wont be an issue trying to cancel order by the cut off date.

    • +8

Cancel after the first payment is processed. You don’t need to wait for the delivery. The second payment may be processed before the first delivery.

      • First payment being the 9.99 delivery fee?

        • Yes

    • Last time I tried the free box, it tried to charge me for another delivery first and I tried to cancel and they told I couldn't cancel and still get the free box.

So I'm guessing that's changed now?

      • so did it cancel and did you get charge for the next?

  • referral i got was 70/20/20 not 125. is it a matter of just keep hitting random and hope for a good one?

    • +4

Did you make sure to select for 4 people? It then goes up to 125/20/20.

      • +1

        yeah that's it.

  • +3

I have heard nothing but bad things about Hello Fresh lately

    • they've stopped putting 3x FRB-XXXXXXX codes in every box, the bastards!

      • I’ve ordered recently and received 3 “free box for a friend” card inserted in the box, each time - wasn’t sure what to do with them lol

    • +5

Because they have only been bad! I’ve used Marley spoon and hello fresh for about 2 years and in the last 6 to 8 months quality has gone VERY downhill. Ever since inflation spiked you can see in their meals they are constantly trying to cut cost, replace sauces with powders, onions that I never knew could be so tiny, recipes that are almost identical but a year ago would come with cheese or Greek yoghurt etc, now the meal has been slightly changed and the extra ingredient removed! I’m hoping it’s only temporary but I have a feeling that won’t be the case.

    • +1

There’s definitely some bad aspects, which is a shame & so foolish of them. Why would we continue, if it’s “OK” when heavily discounted.

But it also invigorated our family’s cooking. Sounds stupid, cos the internet is full of recipes, and the same ingredients are fresher & cheaper at the shops. But “a change is as good as a holiday”.

    • We have been doing hellofresh for about 2 months now and it’s been fresh and delicious. Maybe location dependent? We’re in south side of Brisbane

  • +3

I was quite happy with my last box for 9.99

    • -1

Yeah happy with all my last 20 boxes (9.99 ea)!

      • +4

        How?
They just cancel my boxes if i try use the same address

        • Would also like to know.

        • Lol just create a new account everytime :)

Change slightly the name if needed

        • They used to give $70 refer credit year ago x 19 referred.. 2 x 3 box only cost $66 last year. Simple math I believe.

        • +3

Assuming you're not living in a unit, add a letter to the end of your street number and make it a unit. ;-)

            • +1

              @JuiceWRLD: Another option; go vertical:

              Level 1, Your Address

              • +2

@muncan: i just spell stuff wrong and it still works. streeeeet

      • +1

Can you pls elaborate on how you did this? trying my hardest but they don't accept any alternate cards even with new name/address/account

        • +1

All the orders were placed within one account. So, I’m mot sure… I have referred many people, friends/family & in OZB.. so enough Referral credits for 20 boxes!

    • When should i cancel? I see people concerned about second payment getting deducted

  • Thanks OP

  • +1

Been a few years since I had marley spoon or hello fresh. Going to give this a go and probably cancel. 3x4 meals for $10 delivered is too hard to pass up! Left overs for dayyssss!

  • +5

Got Everyplate offer yersterday, Hello fresh today, well i wont have to do any shopping for the next month !

    • How?

    • +1

Yuushhh same here. Also woke up today with $180 in Everyplate credits :O

  • +1

Just got ky first with 125$ off but selected something with additional 3.49 per serving. Had to pay 23.95, realised only after ordering.

Still a great deal. 2$ per meal for me 😁

  • Not working for me, link? edit—ohh you have to click referral

  • does the 9.95 come out today?

  • +1

    Let’s be clear:

    • Is this deal for new users only?

    • And will HelloFresh know if you are just creating new accounts with different emails via same address?

    • Would love to know re: address. I've done it twice already and don't know how they'll go accepting a third…

      • I got 3 free boxes from them in the past using different emails but same address. I’m not sure if they fixed this loop hole up. I would expect them to not allow new accounts with same address within a short 6-12months period

  • New customers only or can you be a previous customer?

    • +1

Nope, said code was invalid once logged in

      • +2

incognito mode, throw away email and dont use the same credit card ;)

        • Too much effort for hello fresh

  • +2

Just signed up - not impressed with the menu. Much prefer Marley spoon's selection of meals. However, at 83 cents per serve I'll deal with it. haha

    • Under the plan setting, does it show as 134.99 for weekly subscription and next payment date is 25th feb?

      • Just use paypal then revoke their authorisation to automatically charge your account for the peace of mind.

        • +2

don't do this. cancel properly because they can just deliver and send your debt to collections

      • Yeah it's showing up as 134. It says sorry the discount code is no longer available. Unsure what is going on.

    • +2

Same here. I have tried Dinnerly and Everyplate. I was pretty underwhelmed with Everyplate's recipe selection, it seemed like everything was based on mince, potatoes and carrot. Compared to Everyplate, Dinnerly had more variety and flavour in the recipes and good mix of fresh produce, not just carrots, potatoes and bag of salad. Got my almost free Hellofresh box this week through this offer and the selection was no better than Everyplate, same for next couple of weeks. Although, there were recipes with salmon included at no extra charge and portions were pretty generous. However, I won't be getting a 2nd box at $8.35 per serve (4 people, 4 meals).

      • I just had a look at dinnerly. Looks good. I'll give them a go next. I've already got a Marley spoon coming this week. So will probably be week after.

  • Had an previous account.
Keeps saying its invaild on my new account.
Any ideas how to create a new account

    • +2

Weirdly enough I didn't have an account with Hellofresh but I think my Everyplate signup from the other day must have counted? Same backend maybe? Either way new email address did the trick…for now…

    • +2

      incognito mode

  • +1

I can't seem to add a referral link from my hello fresh account (active) Any help would be much appreciated

  • Thanks OP ordered for a week!

  • A query for you guys. The banner on my first week of delivery (4 March) states 'You save $125 on this week's meals' but the order summary for that date only lists a $20 promo code, keeping the cost at $114.99. Should I be worried about this, or does the full $125 come through anyway? Cheers.

  • On the menu screen it says you're saving $125, but when I select meals it only adds $20 discount? So confused.

    • the comment right above yours is about this. check under order history to see the $125 saving. hope that makes sense

  • Ordered. But when is the payment made?

  • +1

    promo no longer available?

    • Tested my referral and working fine. Keep trying more random referrals until you find one that works.

      • i kept trying and eventually worked, thanks!

  • +1

"Payments are taken the day following your weekly order cut off, for all states."

So once I have been charged the 9.99, can I cancel my subscription and still receive delivery of the first box?

  • +2

Thanks, just placed an order, though it ended up a slightly painful process. Got charged full freight despite the $125 discount showing in my account. During live chat they said the discount accidentally applied to the second box, so they cancelled the first delivery and refunded it, now the free box is coming March 8th.

  • I skipped the 2nd delivery as the cut off date to alter it was 4 days before the first delivery. They deactivated my subscription!

  • +4

Ordered, and skipped the following two deliveries to ensure I have plenty of time to cancel.

  • Cashrewards you on 55% too. Just got a box for 2 people 5meals. For 49.99 then activate Cashrewards I’ve got 27.49$ cashback. So end up for 22.5$ awesome deal 👏🏼

  • So I assume as soon as they take the $9.99 payment, I can just cancel the sub and I get the "free box" - I've skipped next 2 deliveries to stop any type of other payments

    • +2

I've done the same, but will wait until something ships to cancel. I should have a bit of time to do that given the cancelled weeks.

  • I read it is if you set a delivery on Monday, you will be charged on the previous Wednesday the $9.99. then the next Wednesday's the $134.99 so as long as you cancel on the month after delivery, you should be ok.
    Is this correct?

  • +1

The order history said $9.99 but when you click on Plan setting it said Weekly Subscription $134.99 next payment is $134.99. so is that $9.99 or $134? anyone?

    • +2

My Everyplate said the same, but was only charged $9.99 this past week. My Hellofresh is saying the same as yours. They use pretty similar systems by the looks of things (owned by the same company?) I did however take screenshots of absolutely everything just to be absolutely certain.

      • thanks

  • I got it to work in incognito mode after a few tries.
But in my rush I selected 3 recipes per week for. 2 people not 4.
Anyway to change it and get the full benifit or should i be happy and give up

    • +1

      try hitting up chat

  • hfdevelique for $200 off the first 6 boxes. No idea what the works out to be, but can't be bad

  • Just got an email saying my order has been cancelled.

  • +1

my $9.99 has been taken out via PP - I spoke to online chat, they confirmed my order has been placed and credit applied - delivery next week, I've skipped next 2 deliveries, and will cancel once food arrives

  • +1

So are we confident it will still get delivered if we cancel after payment but before delivery (aka now)?

It’s saying in the account settings that the next payment is 25/2/2023 and payments are $135…

    • +2

I cancelled mine after payment but before delivery because I didn't want to risk the $135. First delivery seems like it's still going ahead, but who knows.

      • How did you go? Any problems doing this?

        • Can confirm that the first box arrived despite cancelling days ago when they took the $10.

  • Can i cancel my order now, delivery date is set for 28th feb. My credit card has a charge of 89$ for some odd reason. No idea how. Looks like i cant edit my order either.

    • +1

From what I understand your card isn't charged until the cut-off date. It sounds like your cut-off date has passed and therefore you were charged and can no longer edit your delivery. Not sure why you were charged $89 however. Did you maybe select premium meals which have an additional cost? If not, try contacting support.

    • Wtf my PayPal was also charged $87.99 despite my email order saying $9.99

      • Ii spoke to customer support. I was told i accidentally selected 6 meals instead of 3. But they gave me 50 percent off that order since it was too late to stop the order
