Just browsing Amazon and thought this was a good price just going by what I saw it was before.
Free shipping for everyone as it's over $39. No Prime sub necessary.

Same price as this recent Scorptec deal but that was C&C or + shipping costs. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/752773
Recent deal shows it was $65 on Amazon AU last time round. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/721671

1TB is $109 but that's been $85 from Amazon AU in the past.

Review from India seems to go pretty in depth on Crucial vs Samsung.

Excellent SSD with which to refresh an older computer/laptop for your parents or kids.

  • No Prime, says $5.99 shipping

    • Says free shipping for me. Sold and shipped by Amazon AU so there's no reason for it not to be.

      • -2

I added to cart and when I go to cart it says eligible for free shipping. Amazon website is weird, even out of stock items show up in search when I specifically untick 'include out of stock items'

        shrugs

    • +1

Yeah I can see the $5.99 shipping under the price now as well.

But it wasn't there at the time of posting, it definitely said "Free delivery".
Same with the orange text saying "Usually dispatched in..", that wasn't there either. So I think some kind of issue with the "Usually dispatched in" page it swaps over to when stock runs low.

  • How much better is the MX over the BX? The 1TB BX500 is $85

    • +2

No DRAM for starters on the BX.

Tell me you don’t know what you’re talking about, without telling me you don’t know what you’re talking about.

    • +3

Post this for $10 so we can order it from there pls

    • +1

Post a link. I'll buy with a mail forwarder.

    • +2

Show me a retail price for a 500GB branded name SSD with decent warranty (ie at least 30 days) for $25 and I'll order 10.

    • You gotta stop buying your storage from Wish.

      • So AP fell for the scam listings..

Heard that story before. Ordered $20 4TB SSD from eBay/Wish. Received broken sunglasses. lol.

    • Lmao link these $10 ones

    • I guess all the other comments beat me to it.

But yeah can you please link to the Crucial MX500 for $10?
I assume if it exists it's going to be grey stock. Because even after adding import fees and shipping it should come in under $55. I am sure a lot of people would be interested.

This makes a good scratch disk, been using it for a while and only down to 96% health.

  • -3

Come someone explain why people want these old style disks over NVME? I have been installing NVME drivers into old PC's with PCIE adapters with great success.

    • +5

Price, and number of slots available

    • +3

      Ps4 upgrade

    • +3

Laptops, those system with already full PCIE slots. But why would you add two layers of failure, adding in an adapter + NVME drive, when a SSD can be installed in once complete unit for cheaper?

      • +1

Potentially the NVME drive would be faster than a SATA SSD. Of course not many people would notice the difference.

        • Not potentially. Actually. I challenge you to find an NVME drive slower than sata. If you can't tell the difference, you didn't need a new hard disk.

    • -1

Send a 500GB NVME link for $55 thanks

    • +3

Not all older systems can boot from NVME in a PCIE slot. Notebooks don't normally have accessible PCIE slots.

      • Always update the bios before trying. I am 3 from 3 on old PC's now. Worse case, boot from a SATA drive and then run everything else from NVME

    • +1

I can fit 4 sata drives to my current build but I only have space to fit one nvme. PCIE slots are blocked by my gigantasaur gpu, given that's the norm these days I assume others in the same situation. SATA is plenty fast for games storage too so I have no reason to go out of my way to make the more expensive M.2 format work, my OS is already on m.2. The SSD upgrade applies to laptops too.

    • +1

the same sort of comments in every ssd deal lol.

    • These are also great for raspberry pi, run via usb3 adapter as OS drive provides a massive speed boost over SD cards

  • Says $64 in cart and I'm a prime member?! Is there a code?

    • +2

Looks like you are buying it from computer alliance so look to the right at other sellers, amazon is now on backorder 2-4 weeks

  • +3

Wish the 1tb to be $85 again, Jeff do you hear me??

    • 500GB doesnt cut it if you only want a single drive.

  • If you're looking to upgrade your PS4 to a SSD, go 1tb.

    • This one is perfect of PS3 or OG xbox with an IDE to SATA

  • Edit: my bad not expired

    • The price is still $55 and says ships in 2 to 4 weeks.

Someone is still reporting the deal as "expired/out of stock" should the deal be expired now?

      • Could edit the title to start with [Backorder], I've seen that done before

        • Ok done.

Delivery times are really blowing out lol. Was 2 to 3 weeks at first, then 4 weeks, now 5 weeks.

  • +1
    • If live close it’s a deal, but $2 does not go far in transport…

    • Good find if you are local. 👍

  • Centrecom have the 1TB version for $99. Not quite all time low, but reasonable none the less.

    • Free shipping? Otherwise if you add shipping it ends up equivalent to like $109 from Amazon AU.

If you can walk into the store though might be the best price around if you need it right now.

Edit: From a search seems like they replaced their "Free shipping for $75+" to "$5 flat rate shipping for $75+". So lower shipping price than I thought.

      • Yes I get $5 estimate, but yeah that $99 is assuming a click and collect.

    • Expect Amazon to soon price match it, seems like they've been matching their prices lately, including this 500GB (although other stores also have the 500GB for $55).

  • +2

And there it is, 1TB now $99.

  • Looks like Amazon AU stock is all gone. None available at $55 Shipped. Marked as OOS.

  • Available again

    • Yup and in stock too. Seems like those who were on backorder can expect theirs to be at least shipped by now.
