Was having a browse through Amazon and discovered this. Appears to be an all time low price.

Not as good of value per GB vs. the recent 1TB deal, but certainly better value than the current 250GB price, so could suit some who don't require 1TB or want to wait for Amazon AU stock to return.

Price History at C CamelCamelCamel.

One trend I have noticed is SSDs and ram just keep on getting cheaper. Good for those that need it otherwise hold off.

    • the other trend you need to be mindful of is the SSDs quality tend to drop of with newer models as they needed to cut costs and sometimes make (imo) horrible decisions like BX series that costs the same (or only slight savings) than the MX.

for me, sometimes it's FOMO, sometimes it's wise to wait.

  • Isn't that the normal price?

Nevermind, it was $68 before and keeps dropping

  • same price at Umart

Be very careful on Amazon at the moment. I've been getting lots of CamelCamelCamel alerts for third party sellers offering ridiculously low prices on SSDs, and in each case the seller appears to be a scammer and disappears off of Amazon within a couple of days.

Probably those same scammers on ebay atm….

If you don't see this or a noteworthy Aussie Business….. runaway.

hmm… for me i wouldnt buy until it hits under $55.

$109 is not that much more than this for double the capacity…

500gb is getting on the small size, fills up pretty quickly

    • If you're talking about the $70 aud ones, I think they're scams. I have one on order but the tracking number they posted doesnt work.

    • Was it fulfilled by Amazon or a reputable retailer or some unknown 3rd party?

      • Amazon.com

        • +1

If it's shipped do you have a working tracking number?
If not, it's likely a scam. Worth noting $55 USD is ~$80-$82 AUD and Amazon AU can actually deliver next day for $89.
Also hope you don't have to pay any import charges.

@pennypincher98: You have obviously never shopped on Amazon before otherwise you'd know the answers to those questions, au not usd, no gst. 55au.

            • @Wayne7497: You said you shopped on Amazon.com? That's an American site so they use American dollars…
Import tax exists thanks to old mate Gerry, some sellers absorb this cost and others pass it on.

Geez some people should not be allowed to access the internet.

              • @pennypincher98: Nope even gst is added n all converted to Australian Dollars at checkout, every order I've ever placed on any Amazon site usa UK Germany been the same. N I have placed many . Yeah like you said some ppl should not use the internet.

Oh and as I own my own electronic repair business I import thousands of dollars of parts every year from overseas, I know exactly how duty and gst are calculated and paid. Way more complex than amazon who are by law required to collect gst on all sub $1000 orders. As are all large online sellers. Banggood.com aliexpress etc etc Alibaba as all my orders are well over $1000 I pay duty n gst at point of entry to Australia.

@Wayne7497: Well if you're relying on them to convert it (which yes, there's an option) they're going to sting you a worse currency fee. It seems you're either not aware of this or don't care about throwing money away.

Good luck getting your <$35 1TB MX500's. Even though your responses have been nothing but arrogant I genuinely want to see people get a bargain. I don't want to see them get scammed. Apologies for questioning the almighty god of Amazon packages.

  • Not a bad price at all! The last deal on the 1TB was pretty decent but has expired so this could potentially scratch some of that SSD’s need haha

    • It will probably be restocked before long at that price. Black friday is coming up soon after all

  • Can we let this SSD connected with the router all the time. Does anyone have any experience about the performance of the drive or is it safe to let it connected to the Router. how about the HDD ??

  • Crucial MX500 1TB is for $99.00 also
    just ordered one
