Still no confirmation I believe on the new models arriving here too.
Didn't even know there was a new model.
Just looked up a review now and am glad to see their bringing back ethernet ports on all points now, it's the main reason I hadn't upgraded yet. Connecting a small 8 port switch to each mesh point in each room has been great (and noticeably improved video streaming from my home server as there's less wireless hops to make).

Not a great review.Believe users in the UK had widespread issues on launch too.
Well, atleast you can get easy returns.
Promptly returned mine after a recent update made them absolutely unusable. Very love hate with these, I've had stable times for ages, than absolutely the opposite. Back and forth.
Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Hey thanks for the comment, care to explain what's unusable? Probably help me dodge a big bullet.
I've had them on 3 seperate occasions, my most stable set lasted around 2 years than magically wifi just died on one of the devices, killing all the network.
I went back to them after having some issues with an ASUS XD4 set, that decided to suddenly stop handing off devices as you moved around the house. Also killed the network….
So at short notice, went back to Nest Wifi 6 months or so after, returned them within a few days. Latest update was causing non stop micro wifi drops, like literally 100 in an evening.
Returned to JB, was told many others were doing the same. American forums were filled with people who gave up and binned them.
YMMV, you may be lucky. But Google regularly throws out compulsory updates that cause issues and don't do anything to fix them for months if at all.
jesus that sounds like a horror story. now i'm scared.
+1 on useability - pretty useless if they don't work.
Brought 3 pairs from JB Hifi, but couldn't configure them at all - no info as such because you need to use the google home app to configure them and it gives pretty random and useless errors. Ended up logging a support case with google - even they had no clue about what's happening. Finally, went back to JB and returned it.
Any recommendations for a good mesh router?
TP-Link Deco X20 3-pack AX1800 are $360 atm on Amazon
Having great experiences with a higher model atm.
Ax with Ethernet ports too.
Would go with Orbi rbk352/3
I have Ethernet ports at various places in the house. Would TP-Link Deco X20 be the best option? Main router is ax56u Asus.
You don't pair TP Link with Asus.
Either one or the other. Asus you'll need another Ai Mesh compatible device.
You would want to use ethernet backhaul for a rock solid set up. Orbi above uses that, replacing your asus or get asus points will eth.
Cant justify upgrade from Google wifi gen 1 mesh. Waiting for nest pro release here.
If anyone has physical ethernet points around the house and has some Telstra Smart modems laying around, PM me, you can take advantage of those units to use them as boosters.
This is ~$300 when it's a good deal btw.
I got this running on a hfc Optus modem setup. Avr hard wired via modem, solar and aircon on modems wifi.
All other devices like pcs, ipads, tvs, Chromecasts, nest hubs, mobiles, printer, security lights etc on nest wifi.
Can confirm these aren’t the best, eero 6 3 pack is slightly cheaper and works so much better. Returned my nest wifi and not had problem with wifi since. Eero routers aren’t as fancy as having built in speakers but they are wifi 6 and thread/homekit compatible
please note these are old models.
