Pinnacle 1830 x 1820 x 540mm 4-Tier Heavy Duty Shelving Unit $178 (Was $296) + Delivery ($0 in-Store) @ Bunnings

2400

I had been keeping an eye on this one for a while, and was pleasantly surprised this morning to receive a notification from Price Hipster that the price of the shelving unit had dropped from $296 down to $178.

The shelving unit was last on sale at this price in August 2022.

Enjoy!

From the Bunnings website:

  • Heavy duty wire shelves with support braces
  • Heavy duty design
  • Rubber foot caps for added stability
  • 625kg weight load capacity per shelf (when evenly distributed)
  • Powdercoated matte black

This heavy duty 4 tier adjustable shelving unit has a black powder coated finish and a total weight capacity of 625kg per shelf. Great for heavier items. With easy assembly, the shelving bays simply snap together and tapped into position with a hammer or mallet.

  • I am curious what do people put on it to use its 625kg weight load capacity?

      Fish tanks

        Anything else?
As I dont have a fish tank, and cannot think of anything over 100kg in my garage..

        • +1

          You're over thinking.

        • Car engine?
          .

  • How long do these take to assemble?
Need to do 2 tomorrow and wondering how long it will take

    • +4

10 minutes tops. Hardest part is ensuring the vertical members don't fall until they are roughly held together with some horizontal members. You don't need a second person to assemble, but comes in handy for the first minute of holding the vertical members in place.

      • So helpful. Thanks so much. I’m moving house and got a few to put together tomorrow this is very helpful. Cheers

        • +2

You'll probably spend the most time trying to decide what should be the height of each shelf.

          • +1

@lomie: This is me right now

            • +1

@Nuggets: Nah was easy. 9 hole gap for top shelf then 14 for the next one. As long as they are all assembled the same I’m happy 😂

  • Anyone got any tips on covering the contents, like a blind/screen/door solution? Otherwise I might buy crates but they are a pain to get into sometimes

  • Does anyone think it's a good idea to you use this as desk by reconfiguring the shelves?

    • It might work for a very industrial look (assuming you would get a wood panel to sit on top? If so, it might add up depending on how you can get the panel…for similar money I'd just get a n electric sit stand desk + panel

  • Bought this yesterday at full price.. does bunnings have price guarantee?

    • -1

ohh my cba card does.. double dip?

    • Also wondering this myself. Bought 2 less than 2 weeks ago. Called my local Bunnings, the lady was rude and had no idea.

      • +9

Just buy two and return them with the original receipt

  • Thanks picked two up last night from Melville store, they had Lots of them.

Box is long… too long to fit flat on the floor in a Prado with the back seats down.. managed to get them in diagonally on their side with a helper holding them on the way home

    • This is the comment I was looking for - no chance in my Elantra then I guess!

      • Also wondering if I can get them in a Mazda 3 sedan with the seats down. Anyone tried?

        • I loaded two into a Subaru Impreza sedan with seats down. Try your luck!

          • +1

@fvn: Just measured and it is about 1.8, so reckon I might be right.

            • +1

@AjsGuns: just fit in with passenger seat massivly forward. Bunnings guy helped me, which was good.

      • This is the comment I was looking for - no chance in my Elantra then I guess!

I was able to comfortably get it in my Subaru liberty. Just because a car looks large (prado) doesn't mean it's got to have so much usable space inside.

    • I was able to fit this in my VW Golf Hatch, had the backseat laid flat and had the box sit vertifically on it's side with overhanging on the glovebox with a front passenger holding it during transit.

    • +2

I was able to fit one in my 2007 Corolla. Corolla stronk

    • Should fit with the seats folded flat.

Great thanks, I posted the previous deal and needed another one, have been waiting for this one.

My wife nagged me to get a new one on 28/12… told her to wait until it came back on sale but NOOOOOOOOO we had to get it straight away… at least the garage is tidier now. We have 4 Pinnacles set up

Never tried it myself, but wiser Oz-folks say the way to fix that is to buy more (at the cheaper price), then return them on the original higher value receipt.

        • The first 3 I purchased back in August but still needed one more recently… Could try that but think I will just go with what I have

Box dimensions are 187x57x6cm Slid x4 into back of Hyundai Santa Fe. Bunnings fella helped me load them. Mt Gravatt Logan Rd

    • +1

How good is Mt Gravatt Logan Rd

And for anything not in stock there’s always Wecker.

  • Can you load this into the tub of an ute by yourself? Or is it too heave/long and requires help?

    • Ideally with someone else, especially if you need to lift it a bit higher and into a ute. Can be done on your own but it's fairly difficult.

      • Thanks, will try drive in to get some help.

  • +1

    Bought 3, thanks Op!

  • +2

    Picked up 4

They weren't at the front with the other shelving that's on fake discount always, instead it was in the back with a full price sticker on it. Might have been sold out otherwise.

The guy at Bunnings was meant to help me load it into the car, except he did it all by himself despite my attempts to help. I wouldn't risk my back for a lowly paid retail job but he wanted to be a hero.

Just make sure you check everything is straight before assembling. I've got a slightly bent leg and a long arm. Was spending so much time trying to work out why it wasn't squaring up against the wall. But I'm not sure if I can be bothered taking it all back to have it replaced after building it

  • Got two from Maitland store yesterday. Had plenty in the aisle section.

Surprised how much flex the mesh has, will be fine but thought would be more rigid.

  • Anyone else unable to get these delivered? All my local stores are showing "In Stock" but I get "1 item(s) for delivery is not available. Please change to a nearby store to check for more stock." regardless of which location for delivery I choose.

  • None left at Underwood. I saw the display model - these are huge!

    • There were lots still at Cannon Hill today.

  • On sale till 25/1 if anyone still interested. Local bunnies which is quite small reckons they sold 40 this morning!

    • Cheers! Just updated the expiry date on this deal.

  • +1

Just found this - luckily still had stock in a local Bunnings. Much appreciated @fvn

  • Not that impressed by quality tbh, arrived with paint scraped off in areas, doesn't seem to assemble particularly straight, also the mesh is a bit curved (not an issue really but does seem a bit too flexible to actually hold its claimed weight)

    • Agree with the mesh. Whilst I like steel, wood shelf or MDF shelf better. Plus items can slide easy to pull in or out.

      • MDF sags, I have one from a few years ago. Steel racks are flimsy too though - reinforced with timber shelf would be best I reckon

Dang, I missed it because I left it too long. It's just like the time I could have met Mr. T at the mall. The entire day, I kept saying, "I'll go a little later, I'll go a little later…" And when I got there, they told me he just left. And when I asked the mall guy if he'll ever come back again, he said he didn't know.

    • +2

      Looks like it’s dropped again

  • +2

Hi OP, looks like it’s dropped again on the Bunnings website.

Wonder if it had anything to do with me price beating Aldi yesterday.

    • +1

Cheers for the info. Updated the post.

  • Showing as $296 for me :(.

    • +1

I'm still seeing $178. Maybe change stores?

      • +1

Other cities show $178, but my area is $296. Might check again later.
