5600-4070Ti-JANUARY

Party like it's 1995!

This feels like the one you've been waiting for. Back in 2020 we dropped this launch day nuke for our highest ever voted deal, on RTX 3080 launch.

Now, offering ~RTX 3090 tier performance, we have the RTX 4070 Ti for just $1995.

Works like this: we have Gainward Phoenix, and MSI Ventus (+$99) cards at launch, all being delivered throughout January. We then have Gainward cards (same price) confirmed for delivery around mid-February, and another batch in March. They are all options on the same listing at launch. Once a card's quantity sells out, they'll disappear from the listing, so you can choose the next available card. There will always be a $1995 option available!

Systems will start to ship from mid to late January onwards as cards arrive; some already have.

Ryzen 5 5600 RTX 4070 Ti Gaming PC: $1995 after 5600-4070Ti-JANUARY

  • Ryzen 5 5600 processor (5700X upgrade available)
  • Gainward Phoenix RTX 4070 Ti 12GB (MSI upgrades and different timings available - see above)
  • Giga B550M DS3H motherboard (Giga Gaming X ATX upgrade available)
  • 16GB 3200MHz RAM (brand/model may vary, upgrades available)
  • 1TB NVMe m.2 SSD (brand/model may vary, upgrades available)
  • 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU (850 upgrade available, Giga and InWin in use)
  • MSI MAG Forge 100R case (DeepCool Matrexx 55 Mesh 4F also available)
  • Stock cooler (120/240/360mm AIO available; MSI for 120/240, DeepCool 360)

Update on existing orders: Thanks again for everyone's patience over the holiday period. There are some orders remaining to be fulfilled from December and Boxing Day, and we'll be clearing those up over the next week or so to be back square. If you want to upgrade into the 4070 Ti you can of course do so, and we can sort you out via [email protected] or PM.

Cheers
Caleb and Luke

  • Old topic and slightly off-topic, but are the Gigabyte PSUs OK now? Opinions seem to vary. Any warranty claims Luke?
My P850GM has run for 7 months perfectly.

      Howdy,
We haven't really had many issues with them in our experience. They seem to be doing the job well.

      Cheers, Caleb

      • The current BPC deal is better value. Other peoples comments:

”MSI gpu is included in price and has gen 4 ssd as well is tomahawk wifi 6e mobo.”

Negging as this is a bad combo of parts and the gpu will be bottlenecked”

Hey I got a gigabyte PSU that is an affected serial number and you haven't sorted it out

        • TechFast will never sort it out

    • That was august 2021. Issue was resolved in 2021.

      • Yeah that's what I believed to be the case, but the PSU rating "tiers" still seem to rate them as "replace now".
I bought mine for a really good price, prob due to the rep, but it's been fine.

      • Tell that to the covid crowd lol

      • Tell that to nvidia and amd.

    • I had two Gigabyte Gold PSUs arrive DOA in June last year. Hopefully they have resolved whatever issue was going on there.

      • Not sure if this is better than the overheating issue reported.

  • Hey Luke are 5700x enough for most games on high settings or would you recommend going for 5800x?

    Thank you!

    • +6

5700x and 5800x are basically the same
5800X3D is a major upgrade in gaming

    • Why not 5800X3D then?

      • +1

AMD stopped making them, wait for 7800X3D now coming FEB!

        • +1

Seems a good release from media reviews. However its AM5 then.

    • Difference between 5600 and 5700x/5800x is pretty minor, especially at higher resolutions. Games don't tend to make good use of the extra cores and apart from that the chips are very similar.

360mm All-In-One Liquid CPU Cooler (+$199.00) - What exactly is the cooler?

    • +2

You don't need it with this build, 360mm AIO are for 12-16 cores CPUs (i9, ryzen 9). Just get the default option and buy a $50 air cooler from Amazon (Vetroo V5, any coolers really) because it's a 5600.

      • Agree. I have a 5900x on air and it's dandy

Sooo…I got in on the 3080 deal ($1799) during Black Friday (this one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/744197). It has just arrived this week, but I still haven’t set it all up. On a scale of 1 to 10, how regretful should I be that I didn’t hold out a little longer for the 4070 Ti? Lol.

    • +55

You’re missing out so much by not setting up your 3080 and enjoying your gaming experience.

      • +8

Thanks for knocking some sense into me, I needed that. :)

    • +1

unless you game in 4k, I wouldn't stress.

And speaking as someone who games in 4k with a 4090, I still can't crank max on every title and get over 60 fps. Entire thing is a scam/sham.

      • What CPU do you have? Also, do you have RT turned on? I'm just curious.

        • +1

RT is a pipe dream in most titles at 4k if you want over 60 fps. 5900x CPU.

I've tested Cyberpunk, Witcher 3 next gen update, portal rtx, Spiderman etc.

If RT is off and i don't go silly with the graphic options (like times the render etc ) can get a solid fps on most titles. I also can't stand dlss. I'm always turning it on and off to get what looks better and I just can't stand it on. I think dlss is a scam personally.

          • @Ruddaga: Do you mean frame generation or upscaling dlss?

          • -1

@Ruddaga: Scam? Lol AI image upscaling is one of the best features to be added to GPUs in years. If you're playing 4K RT without DLSS you're doing it wrong.

            • @Vita85: Yeah maybe if your eye sight is rubbish and you can't tell the difference between 30 fps and 60fps?

Literally every game I've tried it in, I can see the graphics not keeping up with the DLSS processing. Sure if you're not moving and standing still, then yeah, GREAT TECHNOLOGY. But the second you're moving, you can see the weird fake not quite right look about the resolution.

Hey, if you're blind as f and you can't tell the difference, good on ya. But as someone who has 4k gamed with a 3090 and now 4090, I can tell you, I put DLSS on every once in a while for an hour or two, and it just looks like crap (and it's a thing, try googling DLSS looking smeared or crap).

All the more power to you though mate if you can't see it though. I'll take my years of actual experience with testing it over random Ozbargainer trying to call me out that "I'm doing it wrong" ;)

              • @Ruddaga: Update your DLSS to the newest 2.5.1 version.

                You’re welcome

                • @Nathan9999: Updated the DLSS to 2.5.1

Drove around in Cyberpunk for about 20 minutes alternating between DLSS on with RT and DLSS off with no RT.

Still looked bettter Native 4k with no RT

Umm… better say thanks I guess? So you don't look like a silly for saying you're welcome?

                • @Nathan9999: I will say, it did appear to be a lot less smearing/ghosty that previously.

but still can't compete with the native 4k.

                  • @Ruddaga: Now put that dlss sharpness slider to 0, use Geforce Exp sharpen+ (Alt + F3) and adjust to your liking.

Also if you love Cyberpunk, google how to remove the green tint and vignette effects.

                    • @Nathan9999: I don't particularly love Cyberpunk. Just use it as a benchmark since it's one of the more taxing ones. Let me have a play around with your suggestion.

                      • @Ruddaga: Oh and DLSS quality is the best, if you use auto it’ll use performance.

                        Goodnight I’m going to sleep

                        • @Nathan9999: So I reinstalled Geforce experience for the first time in years (stopped using it because it was trash ages ago).

And yeah, my brief playing around with what you suggested didn't really do anything to change my mind.

I tried optimising Spiderman under the Geforce experience and when loading it, had weird screen tearing and juttering.

And Cyberpunk still looked better in Native Resolution.

Thank you for the suggestions though. Was interesting to have a mess around and still see the Geforce experience is still utter trash.

4070 ti prices start around $1450, so the whole rest of the PC is costing about $545.

Almost 3 quarters of the budget on the GPU. What a time to be alive.

    • +5

The future is a gpu with onboard integrated cpu architecture just to get u over the line

If you can upgrade from this case. It's a shocker. I've had multiple issues with it and would not recommend. The guys at tech fast have been pretty helpful with dealing with problems when they arise though.

    • +7

What sort of issues have come up given it's a pre built? Curious

      • I have this case from a TechFast deal last April. Everything fine so far except the LEDs in the front fans either don't work or randomly change colours/flicker on and off.

        • +2

I would love the option of a smaller case without the gaudy lights….(is that how you spell gaudy?).

          • @[Deactivated]: Yeah it's a big ugly case for sure. I've been thinking about swapping it all into a nicer looking case but need to build up some courage to do it.

          • @[Deactivated]: You can turn the lights off it's what I did when I had the same flickering issue and uncontrollable leds

      • The same as the other guy. Led issues and flickering. Now it has one fan that's messed up. I don't see how a pre built stops a case from having issues. I'm on case 3 now in the same line and it has an issue as well.

Led issues, constant flickering and unable to control them in the first case I got. Second case had the water cooler burst open and fried the machine, but I don't think that's the cases problem. Third case has a fan issue where the lower front fan can't run at the same speed as the other and clicks constantly, and has warping from transit so the panels don't close nicely anymore on the back.

    • +6

If you're going to write that at least elaborate on what those issues are lol

Can I get this as parts only?

    • They've sent parts as unassembled in the past

      • -1

Yeah, I changed my mind. Better to get the Ventus GPU by itself.

  • Luke, any deal on 4070 Ti on its own? my mate Mujibar said it should be $1400 Gainward.

  • +6

    Deal is cheaper at bpc.
MSI gpu is included in price and has gen 4 ssd as well is tomahawk wifi 6e mobo.
Only buy here if prefer seller.

@Jazza2400: Omg … i just said that msi gpu is included in price where this is $99 premium. Also includes gen 4 ssd and wifi mobo.

            • @maverickjohn: Gen 4 wifi mobo only for intel - Dude you need to read the post.

              • @Jazza2400: Gen4 ssd is included in both.
Bpc just now mentioned that its a different tier of mobo from comment which is disappointing. That wasnt transparent. Still works out slightly cheaper despite thile mobo variance

                • +1

@maverickjohn: You are justified tho being a better model gpu. I got the techfast eagle oc 3080 and wish I had a slightly better quality gpu (even gaming oc) , wouldn't want something with subbar cooling with this many watts of power but in future will review the cooling of each card like I've done with this one retrospectively.

                  • @Jazza2400: I think all mid-low model 3080s perform better with an undervolt to keep temps reasonable

"AMD Ryzen 5 5600 is too weak for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti" - according to https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/
not to mention RTX 4070 Ti, you guys really need to have a better match up for CPU to GPU, you should be experts.

    • what's CPU would you recommend to pair it with?

    • I have a 5600x and I'm looking to upgrade my GPU. Using this calculator, it appears the CPU is too weak for anything above the 3070. Does that mean it would be a waste of money for me to buy anything faster than a RTX 3070?

    • What a discovery of a nice website, tho annoyed that it doesn't include any 40 series cards

    • +1

The potential for GPU/CPU bottlenecking depends what your fps, resolution and settings targets are.
It is meaningless to make a blanket statement like it "is too weak".
If you wanted 240fps @ 1080p or something different like 60fps @ 4K it changes the relationship between the cpu and gpu completely.

  • +1

All garbage except the GPU. You can build better than that. It'll bottleneck your GPU.

    • i'm assuming you guys are talking about when your at lower res and/or lower quality (4 competetive titles) on these newer cards, if you are GPU bound (4k or 1440p high/ultimate) it's unlikely to be an issue on this CPU.

      • untrue for 1440p, it does hit bottleneck at that res.

  • +4

Negging as this is a bad combo of parts and the gpu will be bottlenecked

  • Which deal seems the best?
    - This one
    - BPC Tech's one
    - Titantech's 3080 Deal, now $1949

    • Any of these 2 good for photo editing?

    • -2

3080 is dead and buried, its not the same class as 4070 Ti.

      • +3

It's a 10-15% speed increase over the 3080. Not as drastic as "dead and buried" especially given the much higher price of the 4070 Ti

        • there's still brand new Asus Tuf 3080 10GB for $1299 from local shop.

Looks like the price is inline with 4070 Ti in Jensen playbook.

      • +1

Far from “dead and buried”, the increase from 3080 and 4070 Ti isn’t that drastic. However in this case the TitanTech deal probably isn’t worth it at that price but it’s the one I’ve been looking at before the 4070 Ti deals came out so I thought it was worth including
