[eBay Plus] 0% Variable Fee on 3 Sales Per Month by Eligible Sellers (Activation Required), 50% off Sendle Labels (3 Max) @ eBay

3250

I hope you all got some items to sell (especially after Christmas/New Years) because eBay is bringing back the free FVF fees promo starting 1st January 2023

Probably a new standard now as it's been 3 items per month for the last few months

All eBay Plus members will be eligible for this promotion :)

ISP Notes

  • Make sure you make a new listing to be eligible for tbe promotion. Do not relist an item as there are reports of eBay charging full fees when doing so. Personally I always “sell similar” and it seems to work

Terms and Conditions for $0 Variable Fee Promotion

When does the promotion run?

  • The promotion runs from 00:00 (AEDT) on 1 January 2023 and will be available for a limited time only, for as long as advertised on the eBay.com.au site (“Promotion Period”).

    • have Australia or New Zealand as their registered address on eBay; and
    • have an active eBay Plus membership; and

    • received confirmation from eBay that “you’ve accepted the offer”.
  • Once you have accepted the offer, the promotion will be automatically assigned to your account and will be visible within My eBay.

    • in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; and
    • not listed in one of the Excluded Categories (as defined below).

  • The variable fees will be discounted directly from the eBay seller fees applicable to the Eligible Listings when they are sold.

These Excluded Categories are in addition to any listings or categories restricted by eBay's prohibited and restricted items policies.
  • The Promotion only applies to variable fees (a component of your Final Value Fees). For the avoidance of doubt, the Promotion does not apply to the $0.30 (incl GST) fixed order fee for non-store subscribers (or otherwise have registered for a tax exempt status with eBay) or $0.33 fixed order fee (incl GST) for store subscribers, fees for optional features or services (including Feature Fees), international selling fees or any other fees set out at eBay.com.au, as varied from time to time. See our help pages on Selling fees without an eBay Store, eBay Stores selling fees, eBay Stores fees for registered businesses, as applicable, for more information

  • Now i need an $80 sign-up incentive.

Awesome. Don't forget to screen capture the offer acceptance message for when it inevitably goes south with eBay.

    • +2

Always a good idea to keep a snap.
Support claimed that I had no promotional offer and wanted to charge me 12% variable fees until I showed them the screenshot.

    • I've had to engage with support for EVERY SINGLE free eBay sale I did.

      • I have accepted the offer and listed 3 items. Now the count says 0/3 used.

        Did you guys notice that?

        • Yep me too. We must have been posting the same thing at the same time (i made a new comment below at the similar time as you)

        • Should only be used when they sell right ?

          First 3 sold items?

          • @freoleo: Well i hope so. I don't want any surprises

            • @shegeloaf: Said no customer if eBay ever

            • @shegeloaf: Yep, it will only count after an item sells, which kinda sucks if you want to list multiple items at a fixed price, not auction, as it just automatically applies it to the first items sold.(e.g. you can't set your most expensive items as 'fee free')

              • @Fappo: List your 3 most expensive items on the account that has the promo. List all other items on a different account without the promo.

          • @freoleo: It's not the first 3 "sold items".

It's the first 3 successful & completed sales,
            ie.
payment from the buyer needs to be made to the seller,
and that's when the promotion gets triggered.

I watched this closely last month (Dec. 2022),
and noticed that I had made 3 sales,
but the 0/3 counter was triggered, each time the payment was made
not when the item was 'sold'.

        • It counts up when you sell. I know this because it actually worked for me once! :P

        • I’ve used this offer for the two previous months and I can confirm it’ll only ‘use’ one when your item sells.

        • I posted this comment at the same time you posted yours

  • +6

Don't forget it has to be a new listing (made from scratch). ie. the old listing which expired can't just be relisted, or otherwise ebay will charge you.

    • +9

"Sell similar" has been working for me

      • +1

Yes! exactly as I said in OP. I prefer this method

      • Yes that works, but the convenient thing to do was to cancel anything which didn't sell from previous promotions then relist. This used to work up until recently when ebay updated their t&cs

        • Yeah, it was the best until they changed it :(

    • Say an item sells for $100 how much will I save with this FVF offer?

  • +1

    Awesome thanks!

  • +1

    You beauty!

  • +6

Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.

    • +1

Are you an eBay plus member?

      • +1

I have an active ebay plus account and got the same: "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only."

        • +1

Check your email, you’ll hopefully have the link in the most recent one sent out with Subject: “NAME, Your eBay Plus member savings”.

    • Not sure about that, I just clicked on the OP's link and got this:

      https://i.imgur.com/nesdSLe.png

      • same for me

      • +1

“Eligible Sellers” have to “have an active eBay Plus membership” 👍😊

      • That's what I got but in higher resolution.

  • +1

    Thanks!

  • +1

    Thanks OP!

  • does this mean that we don't need to pay 13.5% fees when we sell an item via ebay?

    • +4

Correct, you only pay the $0.30 fixed fee component of each sale

      • I sold item yesterday and i can see the fees arounf 13.6% for that order deducted by ebay.

        • Hmm, did you activate the promotion? I sold 3 items the other day (worth $370 each) and was only charged 30c each.

          • @I Smell Pennies: yes, i activated that and fight with them about this. now they are going to send the credit back to my account. i sold item for 750 and 13.5% was over 100$

            • @Nickbag: good to hear

            • @Nickbag: What was their argument for charging it originally?

              • @tajid: nothing, they mentioned its issue from their side. god knows what they do

  • Are there any other fees? Or will this man I pay nothing when I sell something

    • +2

Yes, the $0.30 fixed fee component of each sale

      • Beat me by 10 seconds 😁

    • +1

Should just be 30c, as with previous months 👍

  • +1

And as we most other eBay "deals", some of us will get screwed over in some way.

  • +2

    FINALLY Ty op

  • +1

Good way to get rid of some unwanted Xmas gifts

    • I'd laugh if whoever bought it for you bids for it back

  • So the item has to sell in January?

    • +1

No, it can sell anytime within 30 days after listing your item, as long as you list it before the end of the month.

Example: you can list on 25th Jan and sell it on the 20th Feb etc

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but this is what myself and a lot of people have been doing

      • I hope that's still the case

For the avoidance of doubt, if the promotion is not redeemed by the end of the Cycle, it shall be forfeited by you and the discount will not carry over into the next Cycle (if any).

eBay's wording is always confusing - this might just refer to activating the offer

      • +1

I sold something yesterday and was charged only 30c. Seemed to have carried over

    • eBay Help told me that as long as you list it during the promotion,
but the item sells & payments received -outside- of the promotion,
then eBay Help can still help in crediting any FVF that you may have been charged.

So, different representatives interpret this in different ways,
but to cover yourself, screenshot the offer and the T&Cs, if you need to claim afterwards.

  • How's eBay these days? Haven't sold anything using eBay for a long long time, hearing too many bad stories.

Prefer F2F but things take a long time to sell due to limited audience, and a lot of people are lazy too busy to meet up.

    • +1

eBay is quite good imo, sales are 100% higher for me

    • +3

Earn more than I ever would from the tyre kickers and lowballers on FB. I only do buy it now, must be paid to check out and no best offers.

      • +1

FB marketplace is a complete joke, an algorithm marketplace that doesn't even search in the area/distance you select..

eBay's fees i find to be a high

Sell an item for a $1000 on eBay get around $900

        • FB used to be good. Now it's full of BS'ers and scammers who want to offer you $200 for an iPhone 14. (rolleyes)
Better off just paying the EBay fees knowing you'll get paid and not mucked around.

          • @Maz78: PAYID?

My brother's dogs cousin will pickup tomorrow

  • Just accepted the offer. I already had a listing but haven’t sold, does the discount still apply when it’s sold later on?

    • +1

No, it will not apply. Better make a new listing "from scratch or using "sell similar

  • +2

Thanks op. So I can click on my existing listings and choose sell similar to make new listing for free?

  • +2

I just sold stuff last night.
    I'm so sad hahaha

    • I just sold mine before I the code came out lol oh well. Win some you lose some

      • +1

Yeah. I at least held off on some items so overall I'll save compared to if I had sold it all prior.

    • +1

Yea so did i. Been literally checking for new deal since end Dec

      • +2

They had one that was meant to be from Nov 1 to dec 31st.
But they cancelled it on nov 17th. So annoying

  • +2

I'm very glad they decided to continue these seller promos, adds a lot of value to eBay Plus if you sell.

  • I had to sell 3 items of combined vlaue of $8000 approx…

    I love ebay right now…

  • This is the first time these promotions have worked for me in years.

  • I clicked the promotion and got accepted. Can see the promo in the seller centre.
    BUT
Had an item already for sale, tried doing 'sell similar' & also creating new listing completely from scratch, no matter what I do it's still saying "used 0 / left 3" in the seller overview.
Item is fixed price, not from an excluded category & the original listing is ended.

Just can't seem to get the promo to apply — anyone have any ideas?

    • +4

the counter only goes up each time you actually sell your item, you can list 20 different items (example) and the first 3 to sell will count

      • +1

        thank you!!

      • +1

More specifically when you get paid for the item. If it's an auction the counter will not go up until the item is paid for.

  • +1

Thanks OP, need to get those listings up now!

  • Of course my item sold about 4 days ago and I copped a $40 fee, damn

    Ah well

  • I just sold a 799 item yesterday with fees T_T

  • Do eBay still offer occasional no FVF promos to non-Plus members? I used to get them now and again, but haven’t had one in ages.

    • Aside from that recent $1 fee promo which they pulled early can't recall receiving any selling fee promos for non-eBay Plus accounts last couple of years.

      • +1

That’s probably the direction they’re going with from now on - promos only for eBay plus members

Otherwise who would want to be a member

  • Cheers smelly! 🍻

Still trying to offload the bridge. Hopefully this time ….

  • Lol, already made one $1500 sale since accepting this promo - fouiyohhhhh

  • If I list 10 items tonight, it's the first 3 that sell that get the fee discount, and not the first 3 items listed. Right?

    • +3

      Yup.

  • +1

    Finally! Thank you OP!

  • Accepted the offer, ended an item was selling then sell similar, still seeing 3 items listing available, do i have to start a new listing?

  • Used to have no issues listing in ebay by now I have a one item limit and can't raise it. Has anyone had luck with customer service getting the selling limit raised.

  • +1

Just a note that I have always used "Sell Similar" and this promotion would still apply for those sales. But one of my sales today which was a sell similar listing didn't get the promotion applied so I suggest people create a new listing. I contacted ebay and they were good at waiving the fee this time but told me it would be a once off.

  • Shitting Sendle, I am sending 3 parcels for pickup and only 1 is been pickup, other two have been sitting there for 3 days and 2 days respectivily

    • +1

For mine better off choosing the drop-off option if there's a local drop-off/collection point nearby. They're pretty bad when it comes to home collections not sure if it's their system or their courier drivers. Once you drop it off though they usually collect on the same day or the next.
