[eBay Plus] 0% Variable Fee on 3 Sales Per Month by Eligible Sellers (Activation Required), 50% off Sendle Labels (3 Max) @ eBay

3250

I hope you all got some items to sell (especially after Christmas/New Years) because eBay is bringing back the free FVF fees promo starting 1st January 2023

Probably a new standard now as it's been 3 items per month for the last few months

All eBay Plus members will be eligible for this promotion :)

ISP Notes

  • Make sure you make a new listing to be eligible for tbe promotion. Do not relist an item as there are reports of eBay charging full fees when doing so. Personally I always “sell similar” and it seems to work

Terms and Conditions for $0 Variable Fee Promotion

When does the promotion run?

  • The promotion runs from 00:00 (AEDT) on 1 January 2023 and will be available for a limited time only, for as long as advertised on the eBay.com.au site (“Promotion Period”).
  • The promotion resets every 30 days starting 1 January 2023 until the end of the Promotion Period (each referred to as a "Cycle").

Who is eligible for this Promotion?

  • “Eligible Sellers” means sellers registered on eBay.com.au who:

    • have Australia or New Zealand as their registered address on eBay; and
    • have an active eBay Plus membership; and
    • Eligible Sellers must activate the promotion in each Cycle to receive the promotion during that Cycle. To activate this promotion, Eligible Sellers must have received an invitation to participate in this promotion and accepted these Terms and Conditions by either clicking “Accept offer” on the Terms and Conditions page or clicking “Get offer” under the “promotional offers” section of your My eBay account; and
    • received confirmation from eBay that “you’ve accepted the offer”.
  • Once you have accepted the offer, the promotion will be automatically assigned to your account and will be visible within My eBay.

  • The invitation to participate in this promotion is not transferable or exchangeable.
  • For the avoidance of doubt, if the promotion is not redeemed by the end of the Cycle, it shall be forfeited by you and the discount will not carry over into the next Cycle (if any). You will also not receive the discount in a Cycle if the promotion was not activated for the applicable Cycle in accordance with these terms.

What is the Promotion?

  • The Promotion entitles Eligible Sellers, who have activated this promotion in accordance with these terms, to 0% variable fees (which is a component of Final Value Fees as defined on eBay.com.au) on 3 sales per Cycle on Eligible Listings.
  • “Eligible Listings” means item listings that are:

    • newly listed on eBay.com.au during the Promotion Period (i.e. they cannot be relisted items through ‘Good ‘til Cancelled (GTC) or auto-renewal);
    • in multi-quantity or single quantity fixed price or auction format only; and
    • not listed in one of the Excluded Categories (as defined below).

  • The variable fees will be discounted directly from the eBay seller fees applicable to the Eligible Listings when they are sold.

  • This promotion only applies to the variable fees on Eligible Listings that are sold during the Promotion Period.
  • eBay reserves the right to cancel or change the offer at any time.

What exclusions apply?

  • Items listed in the following categories are excluded from the Promotion (“Excluded Categories”): Websites & Businesses for Sale (11759), Aircraft (63676), Boats (26429), Caravans, Motorhomes (32633), Cars (29690), Motorcycles (32073), Trucks, Commercial Vehicles (6049), Real Estate (10542), Services (316), Flights (3253), Tickets (1305), Travel (3252), Gift Cards (172009). These Excluded Categories are in addition to any listings or categories restricted by eBay's prohibited and restricted items policies.
  • The Promotion only applies to variable fees (a component of your Final Value Fees). For the avoidance of doubt, the Promotion does not apply to the $0.30 (incl GST) fixed order fee for non-store subscribers (or otherwise have registered for a tax exempt status with eBay) or $0.33 fixed order fee (incl GST) for store subscribers, fees for optional features or services (including Feature Fees), international selling fees or any other fees set out at eBay.com.au, as varied from time to time. See our help pages on Selling fees without an eBay Store, eBay Stores selling fees, eBay Stores fees for registered businesses, as applicable, for more information
  • Eligible Listings will only receive the 0% variable fees until the listing renews, whether by auto-renewal or because the listing is GTC. After this, standard eBay fees will apply.
  • You may be excluded from the Promotion if your eBay account is subject to listing restrictions, suspended, restricted or made inactive, or if you fall below eBay’s minimum performance standards, prior to or during the Promotion Period.

    • faced the same finally knew what's up. check which courier showing on label, "courier please" should be good I saw the guy came everyday and told me they only picked up their parcels. but "aramex" is the problem picked after one week, today I had to cancel one with aramex (since we couldn't know which courier before generated label through ebay) then re-posted.

      • agree, Aramex is the issue, I usually use auspost with business account but only use sendle when it is on promotion with eBay, seems like I will just stick to auspost then.

      • Yup. Aramex is garbage, Couriers Please picks up on time for me everyday.

  • Sorry for stupid question, but where do I find the “promotional offers” section of my My eBay account?

    • Just log in to your eBay account and then click through the link in OP. If you're eligible (pretty sure it might be just for eBay Plus members) then it should state that once you click through.

Then if you go into your My eBay Summary page it should show up as a current promo under the promotions section.

  • So my listing has a whole lot of payment methods including paypal. If the buyer uses paypal, do I need to pay paypal fees? How do I turn off paypal if that is the case?

    • +2

Whatever the payment source pretty sure it all gets handled as eBay payments now. So via this promo the fee should just be 30 cents for 3 items.

  • i got this offer.
so, what is the best method to sell ? that can last long and still not attract fees?

i mean when i list and pick buy now, at the bottom it says that buy now list will renew every month bla bla bla until sold.
when it renew and i get sold, i will not this free variable fee anymore, right?

    • I'm trying using buy it now with offer. If there is an offer I will not accept it as they can try to cancel the offer. I will then reduce the price to what their offer is and make them pay immediately.

      • huh are you sure if we accept offer from buyer we will not get this free fee offer???

        • The terms indicate that fixed price items are part of the deal, not just auction items.

          • @geoffl: so i can accept offer, right? the only thing is if we relist, or auto relist. those are not eligble

    • +1

If you don't manage to sell the 3 items this month you can just end item/s and use sell similar to list them again just before the promo expiry date. That gives you another crack at it but make sure that you don't use relist though as that will void the promo.

      • ah yeah, need to set reminder to cancel or pause or temporarily add $1000 to the price just in case someone buy after the period

  • So I've used my 3 listings this month, but one of the buyers hasn't paid. If I cancel the sale will I be able to create a new listing and still claim the offer for my 'third' sale?

    • Afaik once it's sold that's it. In the past I've had a couple of buyers request to cancel order straight after and the promo counter did not reset.

      • +1

No, only once it's paid. You can check this in 'My Summary'.

        • Ah ok I have all my items listed with immediate payment required so maybe it's the payment that triggers the promo counter then.

  • Can't see anything in the terms that says sending offers is excluded so I can go ahead and send offers, right?

    • I don't see why that would be an issue but maybe should get on help chat to confirm and take a screenshot just in case.

    • Sending should be fine but accepting dont know.

  • Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.

  • Anyone tried doing this on multiple accounts?

    • +1

      Yep, no issues.

      • Nice :)

        • Yeah it is pretty nice, it's still targeted though!

          • @Hiphopopotamus: Shouldn't everyone who is an eBay Plus member qualify?

Meaning - if you sign up to eBay Plus today, then after you should be able to activate the offer via the link in the OP.

            • @proudwanderer: Not sure. It's in the title though and a couple of people in the comments couldn't activate the promo, maybe it's been fixed?

            • @proudwanderer: I was able to activate it on my rarely used spare account (that has eBay plus) but it wants to charge me insertion fees for some reason

              • +1

@King Tightarse: I had the same issue on my spare accs too but you’ll get 200,000 free listings once you sign up to managed payments

  • I don’t seem to be able to see sendle anymore?

    • Is it a PO Box or Parcel Collect address?

      • Nope

        • +1

Weird let me chase this up with Muzeeb and I'll get back to you.

  • Hey guys If you list an item let’s say same item x5, do you only get free for the first 3? (So you only pay 0.30 for 3 or the whole 5 items?)
I imagine the first 3 only.

    • +2

If you do a multiple item listing of that item with quantity 5:

If you have 5 different buyers purchasing it - then you pay 30c for each sale for the first 3 buyers and then you pay full FVF for buyer 4 and 5 —- i.e. only 30c for the first 3 transactions

      BUT,

If one buyer buys all 5 at once - that is counted as 1 transaction, and you only pay 30c for the sale of all 5 to the same buyer, plus still have 2x more to use on the sale of other items

      • Thank you!

  • +1

Now that the Jan offer expired yesterday, looking forward to the Feb one :)

    • Do we need to accept a new offer? Cant see a link for it

      • Yes, you have to accept a new one each month

    • +2

      It’ll be released soon

  • +1

reminder for everyone, pause your listings, activate the new offer then start from scratch new listing (just to be safe)

    • +1

You mean end your listing, then go into unsold category and click on "sell similar" on the item after accepting the new offer

      • There is varying opinions about whether "sell similar" qualifies for this FVF discount.

I used to do this, until recently when an eBay customer service representative
told me in an online chat that "sell similar" does not qualify.

I did not want to risk it, so I just 'create new listing' now.

        • +1

sell similar always work for me, because it generates a new ebay item ID so is like creating it from scratch but uses the old item as a template for content

          • @FeZZa21: I made the same argument to the eBay CSR about a new, unique Item ID
should be counted as a 'new listing', but after "checking with his supervisor",
still came back and asserted that it must be a new listing, and not 'sell similar'.

            So, go figure !

            • +1

@whyisave: he must've had a bad day and possibly confused it with "relist" lol been using "sell similar" for the past couple of months without issues.

            • +1

@whyisave: Should know by now that eBay CSRs are often wrong with what they say and have no idea. Sell similar has always worked.

  • +4

hey everyone try clicking the same link above, it says FEB now

Pay $0 Variable Fees on 3 new sales, thanks to eBay Plus.
    Start date * 01/02/2023 12:00:00 AM
    End date 02/03/2023 11:59:59 PM
Limited time only. New listings only. Fixed fee, other fees & T&Cs apply. Learn More - Pay $0 Variable Fees on 3 new sales, thanks to eBay Plus.-

    • This offer is effective as of 01/02/2023 12:00:00 AM
    • Is your Feb offer already active now since you clicked on it?

What does it say when you click on the link now? Does it say you’ve already activated or “invitation only” like everybody else?

      • +1

yes yesterday it had "you have activated this offer bla bla bla" (as above wording, ie FEB)
but today i click again the same link it says Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.
and i couldnt find the offer inside my selling page.

and i didnt took screen shot yesterday :(

        • Today (Wed. 1/2) is the first time I clicked on the link,
and it says the "offer is by invitation only".

  • +6

I had it in January, now I'm getting:

Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.

    Fcuk :/

    • +7

      Same here lmao.

      Try waiting a few days.

Also, I recently joined for one of my accounts and it had the same error for the first few days, and then it suddenly worked. Not that it's relevant to this situation but might help for others

      • +2

Thanks for the advice, will wait and see : )

    • Same here too. I activated when nicholas posted it again as a deal, but now am receiving the message above

    • Same here, got it november and december last year too :(

  • +3

    I’m now getting:

Unfortunately, you can no longer sign up for this promotional offer because it has expired.

This was for an account that I recently joined eBay Plus and then activated - was supposed to be 25 Jan to 25 Feb - but now has completely disappeared from my promotional offers section.

Wondering if I should pull my listings.

  • +3

Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.

  • +6

Relax people, the offer link will come through via their weekly newsletter email, either around 3rd Feb or first Tuesday of the month

    • Yeah exactly, surely a few days wait isn't worth getting stressed over :)

    • ok bye…..

    • Hope so

    • crossing fingers

    • Yep, has started on the 3rd of the month as far as I can remember, but has been available earlier to activate.

    • +1

the offer link will come through … first Tuesday of the month

hmm…sounds like they also attend the RBA meeting for interest rates

      • +1

or as part of their usual Tuesday eBay Plus deals

    • What newsletter is this???

      • the one that tells you about how much money eBay Plus has saved you lol subject is "Jack, Your eBay Plus member savings"

  • on the topic, i just sold one item 30/1, buyer paid same day, i posted 31/1 and today 1/2 just now 11am i got the money in my bank! and yes with 0% variable fees.
the item has not arrived at the buyer.

    • Still sold in January though. The real test is if something listed in Jan and sold in Feb still gets the 0% - considering the promo has seemingly “disappeared”

      • oh yeah i just want to share how good is ebay now the process is so smooth.
comparing the old time with paypal etc or even gumtree

        • My Paypal experience was smoother and in my Email notifications,
I could always search & correlate the Paypal description,
item listing and dollar amount, with what I had sold.

Right now, I have no idea what items I'm selling,
because eBay messages are just non-descript and the bank transactions are just generic deposits.

So, in a year's time, I will not have a way of getting a summary of the items sold nor their prices.

Plus, I did not like eBay forcing everyone to use their ID-verified names,
but I understand why it was done.

          • +1

@whyisave: You’re correct however that the bank transactions show generic “eBay”

However, you’re also wrong. eBay does show detailed descriptions of all payouts to your bank. You can see it directly on the transactions/payput page, or download the very huge excel file which shows full details of every transaction made on eBay, including date, fees, item price, shipping etc

            • +1

@I Smell Pennies: Yes, you are absolutely correct about 'detailed payout descriptions'.

I simply did not look properly into the smartphone App,
and I can see that it's itemised and goes back a couple of years at least.
( I have not tried the Excel file yet, but that's a fantastic offering from eBay )

Thank you for showing this…and I really should have explored the App more,
but I use the desktop PC more…and the 'Seller's Hub' section has a lot of tools, links, etc…
that I just got switched off from it all.

              • +1

@whyisave: No worries at all - hope I helped. I was referring to desktop PC btw (I never use the app for these things)

Very easy to navigate on eBay web through Seller Hub

      • The answer is no, according to my previous experience.

        • As long as it's listed during the promo period, you'll still get the 0% fees if sold the following month (before it auto-relists). Always been the case.

      • If the promo has disappeared off the seller hub page, chances are there promo no longer exists or is 'expired', so you won't get 0% fees

But generally yes, even if the promo shows in the "expired promotional offers" section, it's still eligible if listed in Jan and sold in Feb

      • Just happened to me, listed Jan 30th ended just now and been hit with a 12.18% fee. I'll try fighting it tomorrow on live chat.

        • Did you use relist or sell similar when you listed?

And did you use up the 3 already?

          • @proudwanderer: Yes it was a relist because the buyer didn't pay. I spoke with someone from chat and they reversed the fee so all good.

            • +1

              @Zotech: Then that explains it.

I would assume if your Jan 30 listing was a “sell similar” you would probably not have been charged the fee

    • You can check it in your "My eBay" app or desktop instead of bank account. In the order choose "View payment details", it'll say "-AU $0.30" for fee when it worked correctly.

  • +2

    Fingers crossed this is ongoing.

On a positive note I just made a sale (Feb 1) that I re-listed using 'sell similar' and got the promo applied. Items listed within the dates but sold outside of them should still be good, and the same should go for using 'sell similar'.

  • +1

I stupidly ended my Jan listings thinking this was coming up :(

  • I'm an eBay plus member and the link didn't work for me. I got an error saying it was by invitation only.

    • +1

You're not alone. Everyone here is experiencing the same thing.

    • Try again tomorrow.

  • Accepted this offer and sold on 30 January. Got charged the fees today. eBay is asking for proof that I received the offer and accepted. Couldn't find the email and the promotion in my eBay account has gone disappeared.

    • +1

      hope this can help https://i.imgur.com/AK5MQG1.png
though they may find another excuse such as "offer end 30/1".

      • Thanks. For any reason, the photo doesn't load for me.

    • You can also check your funds and fees right away, use this link.

  • +8

Just checking the 'Terms and Conditions' again:
    https://pages.ebay.com.au/sellplus3fvf/

I noticed this additional line that wasn't there previously:

This promotion has ended and the offer is no longer available (as of 23:59 - AEDT, 31 January 2023)

Which means that the link from the OP above won't work anymore for Feb. Either there will be a new link for Feb, or no more promotion.

    • even "50% off Sendle Labels" has gone without any clue.

also I noticed in last 2days local "courier please" guy didn't come to pick up sendle booked parcels via ebay. we had to cancel then rebook with drop-off. very frustrated if they deny "ebay-sendle" parcels pickup.

  • Anyone have the new link for February?

    • same question they actually have a feb promo and then removed it 2nd day

      • That's so dodge. Looks like eBay have canned their own promotion.

        • +1

They did that a few months ago too with the $1 promo - just suddenly stopped it without warning
