Pretty good deal on a Lenovo Yoga Thinkbook for almost 50% off. The PC is a little on the heavy side (1.5KG) but feels real solid. Neat that you can fold it around to make a tent - useful for hiding the other tent. Add an extra sleeve for $15 as well

  • What a weird setup for ram. Good deal though

  • Good price. I bought the 8 GB Soldered RAM / 256 GB SSD version more than a year ago for $1.4k. I put in 32 GB RAM plus a 1 TB SSD on top of that. The only issue I've had (twice) is that it became unbootable. The first time was within 1 month and I was unable to recover it myself, and I had to send it back for a replacement (took about a month). The second time, I was able to recover (I believe the BIOS may have been corrupt) using the Novo reset button. Love the fact that it is touchscreen and user replaceable RAM and SSD.

At this price, if I could go back, I would've bought two more of these instead of the Acer Spin 3 and Dell Inspiron 2 in 1 I bought (family member's computer) 1 and 2 years ago.

    • how is the sound on this? not asking for super amazing but is it reasonable and decently loud?

      • Don't know how to properly answer your questions as it is very subjective.
In my own experience, I was pleasantly surprised by its loudness and crispiness compared to my laptop of 10years.
I hadn't need to plug in my Logitech z213 desktop speaker. Of course, you wouldn't have the same bass feel on the laptop speakers.

      • Sound quality is always subjective. Bass isn't great, but to be expected from laptop speakers. Fine for general, light usage.

  • This ticks a couple of key boxes: USB charging and built in slot for smart pen. The smart pen is rarely used by my kids, but I guarantee without the slot they would loose the pen within a week.

Previously I've only seen the integrated pen slot on ThinkPad models.
A bit of shame you cannot order it with Linux.

  • The Gen 2 with i5-1235u (instead of i7-1165g7) is $100 more through the small business lenovo site… Tempted.

    • Yeah, the gen 12 is gonna be a huge bargain mid next year. Forget the i5, benchmark suggest that even the i3 1215u can rival i7 1165g7.

    • Unfortunately battery life on 12th gen is worse than 11th gen which negates the negligible performance benefit in real world applications.

  • +1

Thats a good price, but be careful as the battery life becomes atrocious just after 12 months

    • My hp probook 17” from 2018 has terrible battery life now.

      • What price for a new battery?

        • Usually online it's around $100

  • Im so impressed with my old Lenovo Yoga, 7 years on and going strong!

    • Sadly, Lenovo's build quality ain't what it used to be. You probably wouldn't be impressed by this one.

  • Anyone have any idea how gaming on this device fairs? e.g. Dota 2 & Valorant?

    • +2

If you're looking to do some gaming on integrated graphics, an AMD based option would have much better performance.

    • +1

If you want to do gaming AMD has better integrated graphics than Intel. Otherwise the below deal maybe a better option:

    • It's ok, about mx350 level. Valorant and dota 2 is fine, but anything above that will be a problem, like csgo, apex or r6 siege.

  • damn, already temporarily unavailable…

  • Looks like it's back in stock now

    • Cheers, I'll have to see how I can unexpire it or get a mod to!

  • Just bought 2 for the kids.
