GIANTZ 20V Cordless Electric Chainsaw Wood Cutter 10" $102.06 Delivered @ Dont Waste Dollars

70

Been looking for a battery operated chainsaw. After looking at reviews and price this came up the cheapest.

This one at least comes with 100ml of chain oil. Most don’t!

They also have this on sale for the same price on their ebay store for those inclined to deal through them.

    • They're on eBay with 30k reviews iirc, bought something off their eBay store last night.

  • I am waiting for Ryobi 18v no-oil chainsaw to go on sale.

    • Is there such a thing as a no oil chainsaw? Sounds dangerous.

I mean, every chainsaw is a no oil chainsaw until it isn't.

      • I think it’s only on their minuture 8” saw. The blade speed is so slow it doesn’t need oil, but at that point it’s probably easier to use a reciprocating saw with pruning blades.

  • Finger remover 3000

  • No opinion on this seller but I am very happy with my Giantz Electric Pole Saw Pruner.

    (didn't buy from them)

Makes cutting down tall branches a breeze.

I got one of these after removing a few trees on my property with a Husqvarna 135 MkII, a small petrol chain saw. I ended up selling that one because I (thought I) didn't need it.
Until… the wife decided we (I) needed to remove some olive trees, a lemon tree and a pear tree.
No problem! I'll get a cheap electric chainsaw to make short and quieter work of this job!
Anywho…. garbage. I might as well have borrowed my mates chihuahua to to chew on it. The batteries last about 8 minutes in soft wood. I ended up finishing one with a hand saw, two weeks later, I got the Aldi 20V chainsaw which was far better at the job. Even used bar oil to be all fancy about it (I did with the Giantz one too, just going along with the thread jokes). If you're cutting small sticks, maybe. Small trees…. forget it. Thankfully, I got a full refund after 3 weeks (had to talk to the supplier first…) from Mitre 10

What have you got against the ever lovable chihuahuas? Poor things. lol

Chain speed on this is too slow.

I had the ozito one which did 5m/s which is more than double the giantz… Even then it felt slow .

    • Still about half the speed of gravity though

        Not for the first 0.2s

    • I agree, 2.9m/s is crazy slow for a chainsaw…

My Dewalt 18v is 7.68 m/s and I consider that very slow, a petrol chainsaw is around 3 times that…
