As much as I have liked Gigabyte in the past, I must say I haven't been impressed by the quality of the last few gens of the Aero and Aorus laptops. WiFi issues, noisy fans and getting hot, screws coming loose experienced with 10th gen Intel variant. Perhaps this generation is better, but I wouldn't take a gamble for that price

That's why the deal was only posted based on the 3070 variant review from @shabaka and the deal comments

I had Aero 15 10870 with 3070 and I sold it. I had to continually play around with custom profiles just to use chrome without annoying fan noise.

temperature is wonderful though as it has power limit applied to prevent it from thermal throttling.

fk me. Bought the acer already, now you keep posting these amazing deals!!!

Acer and Gigabyte are going hard, MSI are dumping low end 3050's and ASUS are nowhere to be seen

  • Nice config, but too big and heavy for my needs.

Nice price but most people would probably find it worth going the extra 240 for 2239$ legion 7i on lenovo au ebay. As it stands a gimped 3080 without mux switch stands no chance against a full wattage 3070 with mux. Shabakas comparison of the unit was towards the l5p and the legion 7 certainly doesn’t shy of build quality or premium construction in this case. Not a refurb neither and there is no long waiting period here for the legion unlike it was before.

    • What do think of this Infinity M7 RTX3070 for $2200?
It looks to be a better deal than the OP's but not sure against the Lenovo

This Gigabyte is $200 cheaper ( yes, it is refurb, but still has warranty).
Performance wise, you wouldnt notice the difference. It will be all about the price and are you comfortable with Refurbish.
I would choose the Gigabyte because of the price.
2 reviews for each laptop ( the specs are different but the build are the same)

        • It looks to be a different laptop being reviewed, the Aero 17 instead of the AORUS 17G

Not too shabby a deal if you are after a 17’. Tongfang chasis and with mux switch built in so definitely would see the extra performance over the gigabyte. Worse cooling than the legion 7i though, it’s marketed as a thin & light 17’ and compromises are made here-jarrods sample was cpu throttling all the time. Smaller battery and 17’ so no battery life advantage even for an amd machine.

Recently picked the M7 up with the i7 instead of Ryzen for flat $2000… not on special, sick of waiting around for a 3070 17" to come on sale. Amazing laptop very happy with my choice

    • agreed. after trying L5iP with advanced Optimus I think Lenovos are a better proposition all in all

still 17g appeals to those who want 1080p 300hz for competitive, and quiet / cool operation

on the market right now I think this 17g isn't the best value for money, all things considered

    • if using external monitor, lack of mux switch can be rectified by connecting your monitor directly to the USB-C port…

I really enjoyed mine, and the thing was like brand new. see my notes on linked deal I posted, about registering for additional 1yr of warranty (total 2) using a code

3080 would be a welcome upgrade over 3070, due to lower wattage it runs super quiet and cool

mechanical keyboard is a treat, and per key RGB. screen is gorgeous, and build quality is par with Razer, albeit with a different, more gaming aesthetic. the tank just can't be bent, Lenovo Legion 5i Pro is a joke in chassis rigidity compared to this

I sold mine on though, only because I wanted to upgrade to latest and greatest.

to those of you who know me, I change laptops like gloves, and since then I had another go at Razer Blade 17 (unfortunately returned due to quality issues) and Lenovo Legion 5i Pro with 12700H / 3070 Ti which was great but I finally succumbed to Black Friday madness, sold on my L5iP and got a 4k 120hz TV and Xbox X lol
