  • Years ago we picked up a Loewe CRT from a posh ‘burb in Melbourne, reckon 32”, massive, heavy & almost as deep as it was wide! Best $50 ever….
Lasted us well in the share house….

  • I believe Loewe were the inventors of television so it must be good.

And yes I believe this uses LG (Loewe Good) OLED panel.

I do enjoy these comedy ozbargain posts.

    • i just accept being poor when other people can spend more than me on brands they prefer , just have to accept that some people have enough money to spend that they buy what they want …. while my shopping trolley at dans is filled with furphy for $50 slab and the guy in front of me has slabs of pirate life at $120 slab …..

  • In all seriousness does anyone remember when plasma TVs first came out and DJs had them for $28k for a 50” screen? Maybe they forgot to update their pricing for 2022?

    • +1

Dreaming if you thought it was 50 inches!!! Would have been $50k

First plasmas were 42 inches with a 848x480 resolution.

Came out the same time as the first DVD which were also 480P

      • I originally wrote 42” but then thought surely my memory is wrong…. I just remember seeing one for the first time in David Jones in castle towers as a kid and thinking wow the future.

        • Prices came down super quick

          • @JimB: I remember seeing my first plasma at DJs to. A Fujitsu from memory.

            • @Spizz: Yes, it was Fujitsu.

              Pioneer then perfected the plasma.

    • +2

I remember, circa 2002, my boss at the time going to the JB HiFi at Parramatta and buying a 720p 42" Fujitsu plasma display plus a standalone tuner box for $29,999. 😂

  • Is this the Loewest it can get?

  • They sell this but I got laughed at for asking about the G2 97"?

  • I haven't touch a drop yet, honestly but the title.

      Or
Buy the 55 inch tv on its own for 10k

      • it’s like raybans at sun glass hut …..20% off a pair ……or 40% of 2nd pair deal …..same as 20% off each pair …… you are paying for the 2nd TV …..of more interest is the invoice for the “free TV” if i buy the TV for my office can i score the 2nd TV home or invoice shows 2 TVs ?

    • +1

I originally wasn't going to include the "valued at" but it seemed integral to understanding the point of this deal.

  • Can buy the 77" LG OLED 8K at this price.

      • So it's as good as a BMW when out of warranty ?

        • my 20 year old BMW is long out of warranty …. no expensive repairs ….. my 15 year old plasma is long out of warranty …… no repairs ……. can’t recall many things breaking and replacement is usually an upgrade to new model or tech for me …..or am i just lucky ….

  • +1

I went to Lowes and picked a few for under 100

  • +1

    HODL!!

  • +1

Resale value on a TV at this price will be rubbish.

    • +1

Yeah it would be nuts to drop $20k on an OLED TV now when consumer MicroLEDs are just around the corner (which are better in pretty much every way).

Although the few people who can afford to waste money on overpriced items like this probably aren't that bothered about resale value.

      • Few? Currently over 3600 click-throughs. OzBargain is where the rich hang out.

      • there are people with money and they don’t care about resale …. when they replace a tv this size its ebay, $1 starting bid, pick up only , must remove by set date …..they just want it out of the house …….. i have 2 weber kettle BBQs ….. found kerbside for waste collection in wealthy suburb …..they probably didn’t want to deal with gumtree low ballers …. or too busy to wait for buyers on a sunny day …..

        • Trickle Down economics @ work.

  • Thanks OP! Now me and my baby can watch more Cocomelon

      • Miss Appleberry

  • I can't tell if this includes delivery or not. Tried to go through the order process but it said not available for pick up, but also wasn't able to be delivered. shrug

(note: I was doing this for purpose of tidying up the title on this deal. I am too cheap to spend $10k+ on a TV).

  • +3

For comparison: Pioneer plasma TVs were over $20k when they were being sold in Australia over 20 years ago! Imagine how much $20k was then given you could buy a house 45 minutes from Melbourne CBD for $100k. It truly was a house deposit.

  • +2

Imagine spending 19k on a TV for "cinema enthusiasts" and watching is like this

    • +2

What is this? A product photo for ants!?

      • +1

        😬

        Let me try that again

    • +3

Single seat, because no one In a relationship would be dumb enough to spend that much lol

    • That's the only chair you'll be able to afford after buying this tv.

  • Stack with 15% ultimate cards beat the 81 card record?

  • I had a Loewe before. Never again. Great while it lasted but it didn't last long before it unrepairable.

  • I used to own a Loewe Aconda CRT, it was one of the best CRTs ever created and it was magnificent. I would love to own this TV for the nostalgia and the built quality. It may very well be the best OLED available, but there is a lack of reviews and I doubt it is worth $12k to 13k better than the rivals.

    • +2

Considering all OLED panels are made by LG or Samsung, there is nothing this TV could do to remotely justify a $12K to $13K premium.

  • I have one of these in my backyard and one in the bathroom. Ok quality for a bathroom tv. Will buy a few more for the other bathrooms. Thanks op.

    • I've run out of space in my bathrooms. This is a great deal though for my laundry TV

      • Will you povos quit hugging the supplies of this tv. My dog needs one for his house.

        • My bad dude. My dog's TV is getting a bit old now (2021 model) and I've held up a few of these in the cart while contemplating one for my birds

          • @Faro: But my vegie patch in the small greenhouse in the backyard needs one as well. Come on.

    • if you were really that wealthy you could afford to have others looking for bargains on ozbargain for you ….

    Misleading advertisement

For true cinema enthusiasts, Loewe bild s is available in a spectacular 77-inch format with a screen diagonal of 195 cm an exceptional cinematic experience at home'

If they think a cinema enthusiast would be satisifed with a mere 77" screen (even with the amazing contrast ratio an OLED offers) they are seriously misunderstanding what people are after. You can get half decent projectors from $2k+ that will project a significantly larger image, with contrast ratios already exceeding cinema grade projectors (such as the CineLife+ Series from Christie which have a 6000:1 ratio).

  • "with the engraved, consecutive serial number, underlining the value and thus the uniqueness of this product.FS Plate Floor Stand at additional cost. "

    Clearly worth the cost

  • Where does it made from?

  • Now I don't feel so bad about my new car purchase. It was the cost of 2.5 of these TV's!

  • This will pair nicely with my forty thousand dollar blue Ray player.

    • +1

You had better gotten the monster hdmi cables to go with that setup.

I can think of other things to bLoewe 19 Grand on…..

  • For that much money I can, buy enough eko TV's and make my room a bloody holodeck. Star trek here I come

  • -1

lol at the mods defending this as not a joke post.

pay 5x MSRP of equivalents for 1.5x the product is not a joke, guys!

    • It's technically a bargain if you're shopping for this specific brand/model.

I think the general principle here (and I'm not a mod) is it's the value relative to the regular/otherwise obtainable price for an item.

  • These are great TVs, I had a Loewe TV around 1994 and it was top of the line with Teletext. Not sure about the newer models

    • I only know the brand is premium because they were distributed by my local AV shop (Lifestyle) from when I used to mod ICE in my cars (back when ICE didn't stand for internal combustion engine).

  • +1

    WHAT'S A RECESSION!?!?!?!?????!!!

  • +2

    Lol Wtf

These TV's are (profanity) DOG shit.. for the price

I've seen this exact model in a refrence setting

And the sony x95QD-0LED is a better buy

The sony has a better processor in it,snappier interfac

These are Very high quality TVs but really they are just buying an OLED panel, then putting their own hardware on it,there is no reason it should cost this much.

  • Does anyone know if they will accept Auspost Ultimate gift cards to purchase?

  • $20,000 for tv worthy of mention on a bargain basement web page.
Yes raise the interest! The higher the better!

Now Loewe is a brand I haven't heard of for decades. Appears to be a reason for that as they had been having financial difficulties since 2013 and finally went into voluntary restructuring in mid 2019. By the end of 2019, they were taken over by Skytech Group Ltd which also owns Sharp and Blaupunkt. They now use components from the Chinese company Hisense.

Not sure I would want to drop $19,000 on a TV that is made of Hisense components.

    • -1

hisense is a big brand in china which i noticed when on a work trip ….. we are a bit of a back water for some brands in australia as some companies don’t see a big enough market.

  • This is the Bose Sound of the Tv world

  • what is this brand? never heard of it

    • Lowe is a german brand so not really widely promoted outside of europe ….. some of what used to be premium european brands are now just brands owned by chinese companies …. MG cars aren’t english anymore, nokia phones aren’t Finnish anymore Quad amplifiers are owned by chinese company now …… even a lot of german brands that are head offices in germany now make products in the EU and not germany ….. hard to say how much premium people will pay for a brand and perceived quality ….. difference between designed vs engineered vs made in …… and things like built for 220v vs 240v ……220 is easier to make as you can use some 110v components ) ….240v is more specific but europeans are 240 not 220 ……

  • hi op, i'd like to offer 2200 cash … can pickup today, thx

  • Thanks Op. Sold my car and bought one. Thanks

  • i just bought 4 of these with my tax return what a bargain!..i wonder what my insurance will be now
