    😂

  • +24

    Finally!
Hope these have scart inputs like the good old days of Loewe

  • I can't find 98" inch. Need a bigger screen

  • +5

Loewe is fully supported by Hisense (app, operation system, panel technology, etc.), i cannot believe Loewe can do better than Hisense's flagship products.

    • +1

some brands do better in some countries though same tech ….lowe is european brand … i noticed it when i was visiting china, some of what are upmarket brands in china, we look down on in australia ….

      • Also Hisense dont release their top of the line models anywhere but China. Rest of the world gets the B models. Hisense are good, if they could improve on motion and overall processing a bit they'd be right up there with LG. Sony & Panasonic have always seemed to be the clear leaders for picture quality.

  • +5

Great price I will ask my Mrs about this, I’m sure she be happy about it

    • +19

It's actually a good strategy, because then the 2-3k you actually want to spend seems like a perfectly reasonable compromise! :)

  • +6

Inbuilt 1TB Drive, wow why 😂

    • +12

      4K porn.

      • Did you know there is a town where people are looking to….

      • +5

        You should see 3D porn.

Just get ready to duck every now and then.

        • +2

Gives headshot a whole new meaning…

  • +10

Wow, for a TV its 18k. I know the V series was top of the line and it has only 65inch max, it was available for $11999 and few months ago in few Hifi stores in Melbourne advertising it for $6450. Seriously 18k lot of money. How come this differer from Sony Master series tv?

When i checked with Loewe they said it made in Germany, ok then i asked why is it expensive, the sales guy said, well its made from premium materials so its well built and reliable. But i am sure the panel is made by LG..

    • +12

Its not better quality, in fact the Sony Master series have a better picture because of their processing. The only good thing about these are they come calibrated and they have the best panels. So almost no banding, dead pixels, etc. Sony has those features too for their top of the line OLEDs but not as strict. This calibration is for the individual TV. Where Sony has a generic calibration they put on their models. Loewe just charges whatever they want because 30-40 years ago they could get away with it and still try to today

      • -1

You seriously don't know anything about Loewe.
This tv in particular has a 120watt sound system and 2TB SSD hard drive.
Like Mercedes and Kia… You have the choice if you want quality and build or you want average..? You can not judge unless you see for your self. This brand is constantly compared to Yum Cha TVs and not premium…

        • +1

I guess you dont know anything about reading. Im talking about picture quality only. Which is the most important part, if not the only part. Anybody whos spending that amount of money on a TV will have an amazing sound system to go with it already. Not depending on the TVs speakers for good audio. Ive got a 5.2.2 system with a TV thats not even a quarter of the cost of this TV. Sonys reliability has always been great. Sounds like you might have this TV and defending it when theres nothing to say other than it costs more than everyones elses.

        • +1

You could buy an LG C2 77' Oled & top of the range 4TB external SSD

Spend 10k on 2.1, 5.1 or 7.2 (whatever you want) sound system + AVreceiver that craps all over that 120 watt sound system. Sound bars are garbage and the tiny tweeters can't hit low frequencies/tones. Just the L/R speaker & receiver would crap all over it. Bookshelf or floorstands.

Then you still have money to spare.

Build & panel quality are the only things it's got going for it. It get's destroyed in everything else.

    • +2

Is the Sony master series even better than the top of the line LG OLED?

      • +5

        Yes.

      • +4

More expensive doesn't always mean better quality - but for Sony's top of the line ones, they are pretty much the best.

        • 1000% agree about sony master being better only because the processor they use - that is pretty much the only difference

  • +2

    This or a bauhn tv

    • +26

      40 Bauhn tvs.

    • -1

Sif not get a wall of eko tvs.

  • +2

Is this better than my Panasonic plasma?

    • +8

      Probably lighter.

      • +1

I understand you. I had to remove a 50 inch Panasonic plasma of the wall. 2 x 75 inch TV's would still be lighter than that thing.

        • +2

Pfft try lunking a 60cm widescreen Sony CRT down the stairs

          • @axcairns: We took a 68cm blaupunkt crt up the stair. Backbreaking task. It took my brother and dad a fair bit to get it up there.

            • +1

              @xoom: While you watched?

              • @Orrelljet: While i would loved to help. My disability stops me carrying heavy stuff. Doctors advice. But if you think i should have helped. Sure. I will help them if they ever decide to take it downstairs.

          • @axcairns: Lmao thought that said a 60in crt lmao!! Had to read it 3 times. Can you imagine the size of the box if a crt was in that size! They should release a 60" tube tv retro style…. takes up half the lounge room

    • +10

+1 for a ST60 series Panasonic plasma. I still love mine and 3D is just a added bonus which my kids love, especially since I have like library of about 50 3D titles.

      • +1

Made in Japan too, that thing will probably outlast us !

        • Nah the ST60 was made in Malaysia according to the sticker on the back of my 2013 built model. Not sure about the VT or ZT.

        • +1

That plasma is rated at 100,000 hours….That translates to roughly 34 years of viewing at 8 hours a day. I can pass that on to my grandkids in theory lol.

          • @dealhunter52: Damn, I've been waiting for mine to not turn on one day, I just can't replace it. Still too nice to look at, better than any LED panel I've seen to this day, comfortably.

            • +1

@R00D: Agree…I still prefer night time movies on my plasma compared to my Samsung QLED. It's only downside is full HD resolutions compared to 4K on my Samsung but that trade-off is easily offset by it's still brilliant blacks. Probably only going to replace it when 8K or 16K becomes a norm.

        • Wasn't Pioneer Plasma Japanese made?

          • @cristobaljames: Pioneer Kuro series was indeed made in Japan iirc. Pioneer's plasma unit was later acquired by Panasonic and helped with creating their own fantastic plasma displays. Too bad that Panasonic itself dumped its acclaimed Plasma technology in 2013, while being successful with it, thinking OLED will become mainstream and will negate Plasma's advantages over LCD. And here we're are 10 years later, and OLED still command only a tiny fraction of the TV market compared to LCD, while Panasonic has quit TV market after failures and losses. As the saying goes "Don't fix, if ain't broke".

            • @dealhunter52: Whoa what now? You better let Panasonic know they're not making TVs any more… just because they dont see value in the Aus market doesn't mean they've quit it all together.

              • @nitens: Wrong choice of words. But yes, they don't manufacture most of their TVs anymore (except some high-end OLED models) and have outsourced manufacturing of their TVs to TCL.

                https://www.whathifi.com/news/panasonic-to-halt-in-house-pro…

                • @dealhunter52: Did you read that article at all? They are continuing development of their tvs and associated software etc. Just outsourcing the actual manufacture to a larger plant.

Just becuase TSMC makes nvidia chipsets this doesnt equate to nvidia being out of the market.

                  • @nitens: Lol comparing Nvidia, market leader in their field, to Panasonic. Are you serious? They are more like Nokia now.

The fact is Panasonic is a dying brand in TV market. I would had love them to succeed but they have been losing market share consistently in past 10 years.

                    • @dealhunter52: Just google it buddy… they had a significant model line up this year and they had good reviews.

They are still a brand and all i was saying was your comment about them quitting the market after failures and losses was demostrably incorrect.

Don't change the subject from what was at issue. Market share is a daft metric as this doesnt indicate profitability or performance.

                      • @nitens: Reviews are not = sales unfortunately and market share does matter.

You seem to have extremely short memory but let me refresh that for you, I did acknowledge wrong choice of words in my post earlier.

Doubles up as a heater in the winter, i love it. Summer not so great

        • +1

Doubles as a sauna in summer, I love it.

      • +2

        +1 still loving my ST60.

Although I’ve obviously been watching too much ABC24 news as the burn-in of the banner/logos on the bottom is now pretty annoying.

Any tips on how to clear it would be much appreciated!

        • +1

No idea on how to remove burn-ins. I use mine mostly for watching movies and thankfully no burn-in after nearly 8 years of use. Personally, I think watching ABC24 on ST60 series is a total waste of its intended purposes lol. Because it's pixels emit their own light similar to OLED, It's best for watching movies in a fairly dark room.

    • this is higher res but your plasma has a glass screen not plastic, so easier to clean with no scratches ….. i still have my plasma and love the glass screen ……. once you get gorilla glass or other glass screen protection in LCD/OLED the price goes up significantly ….

clean my plasma with windex and tea towel or paper towel ….no scratches regardless of angle the sun comes in the window ….

    • +1

Perhaps. You may prefer the sense of motion on the plasma and find OLED jittery, particularly with 24p content. I noticed this myself.

The black level and HDR kinda made up for that - you win some you lose some.

It's a rebadged Kogan. So, pretty good.

      • Seems like I've missed the memo on Kogan, what's up with that brand?
I personally don't like their stuff usually actively avoid buying their stuff cz I'm not sure if their quality is good. But some of my friends said that it's a value for money brand.

        • +1

          /s
