  • Screen is much nicer than my old laptop.
    great deal.
IDK how Gerry Harvey makes any money.

By pocketing pandemic relief. How else.

    • Yep better than my Dell G3 15.6” RTX1650.
Same size as the Dell but has 16.1” screen.
What I noticed is that Win11 no longer offers basic Bitlocker drive encryption for users that sign in with their MS account. You must upgrade to Win11 Pro!

playing cod ghosts on battery and its unplayable.

Have you gone through all the updates?

      Windows update
      Microsoft store library
      HP support assistant
NVIDIA GeForce experience - had to manually update that one from here

Have I missed anything coming from macOS it's kinda all over the place.

The hp optimiser program. There's a button for it above the numpad. Gotta make sure it hasn't gone to power saving mode

      • Microsoft store library

What you getting from MS Store?

          Milk and cookies! 🤌

What's the power setting in the hp optimiser app? There's a shortcut button above the numpad.
Make sure it hasn't gone down to power saving mode, which it probably does on battery. It lowers the performance heaps.

  • Can I add another SSD to this? 512GB after OS etc is like 480GB which I feel I'll run out of quickly.
If so, what do people suggest I add? Not to phased about price, as long as it's $150 or under.

Apparently there's two M.2 slots. It's recommended to get a low power drive else may have problems. Such as WD N570

Hey all, can we get a list going for some bloatware you can remove from this laptop?

    • Easy way of doing that. Reinstall windows. Bloatware gone in one fell swoop.

      • +2

The useful non-bloatware is also gone in one fell swoop…

Here is what I found that might be useful to others:

        Delete

        Bonjour
        Energy Star
        HP Audio Switch
HP ePrint SW (if you don't have an HP printer)
        HP JumpStart Bridge
        HP JumpStart Launch
        HP Sure Connect
        HP System Event Utility

        Don't delete

        HP 3D DriveGuard
        HP CoolSense
HP ePrint SW (if you have an HP printer)
        HP Support Assistant
        HP Support Solutions Framework
        HP Wireless Button Driver
        Everything from AMD
        Everything from Intel
        Everything from Microsoft
        Everything from NVIDIA
        Everything from Realtek
        Everything from Synaptics
        Everything from Vulkan

  • How have others found using this laptop?
Battery is not good when gaming, probably lasts 2hrs. Build seems good, the screen wobble doesn't bother me too much

    • +1

LOL. Nobody games on battery power do they?
Any gaming laptop would perform poorly and run out of battery quickly.

  • Anyone replaced the SSD? Being a gaming laptop I assume dual sided SSDs should be ok no?

    • +2

SSD doesn't need replacing, it has 2 slots so you can add the extra one alongside it.

Here is a link to the service manual:
      http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07595967.pdf

Go to page 34 (by the page number in the bottom right), it's page 44 of the pdf going by your apps pdf pagination.

Not sure about 'double sided ssd' but nvme ones will work in it yes.

  • Hopefully mine will get delivered this week after doing a tour of half the country, Damm I swear auspost is getting worse!

    • Worth the wait.

  • I am getting the issue of the wifi constantly dropping out. Have tried to play around with the adapter settings and it's definitely not my wifi. Anybody else?
