MSI B550M PRO-VDH Wi-Fi Motherboard $149 + Shipping or Pickup (NSW) @ DComp

250

I think it is a good price if you can pickup from their 4 stores in NSW. Otherwise, shipping cost around $17. But still the lowest I can find.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

Add "@ Dcomp" in the end and you're good to go.

Got one of these a couple weeks ago from centrecom for $159 when they had free shipping :)

      Updated title. Thanks

Thanks OP, grabbed one. Not a bad price and OOS everywhere else. The first purchase for my pc build in an otherwise disappointing BF. Might end up grabbing the 6700 at $479 if there are no other GPU deals.

Maybe Monday might bring you more luck 🤞

Coincidentally this was also my first purchase for my pc 2 months ago though, still waiting for a 6600 xt, but BF is such a disappointment right now.

      • +1

Came into BF hoping for the $349 6600XT to return but guess we were too optimistic :(
Hopefully some stuff on Monday but I'm prepared to be disappointed.

My exact hopes :( Monday is basically an extension of BF, so I know I shouldn't be too hopeful.

  • Wish AM5 boards were close to this price

    • This is like only a mid range mobo at best, asking for an AM5 at this price must mean it would be a low end mobo.

      • As long as it supports, 7700X/7800X3D, 32Gig Ram, 1 nvme PCiE5 and 1 SSD and a type C, I dont care if mobo is low end. I havve invested in highend mobos earlier but really never utilized all thier features.

        • Low end doesn't just mean less features but also less quality components, such as VRMs which can impact performance. I doubt someone wasting over $2000 on a pc but opting for a very low end motherboard would think it's a good idea.

          • @LuslecGrace: I had high end mobos fail on me and low end ones running like 8+ years that still boot. So there is that. if you dont stress the components (like OC), then should be fine. I would upgrade 5 years max down the line anyway. Of course I woulnt buy one without a heatsink on the VRMs so that makes it mid end anyway. So your point is right.

            • @[Deactivated]: Before you buy a boards.. you hjust have to do the research..
Hsome high end boards have rerally realy bad implementations of the VRM,,

some ultra cheap boards, hgih some really good implementations of the VRM,

              see 13:15

the B550M pro-VDH wifi, is pretty average / worse than average.. but for a cheap board.. its pretty reasonable

@Kelvin: Oh I spend days reading reviews before I even buy a bubblegum, trust me ;)

  • Bought Thanks OP. OOS everywhere so this is a good find.

  • Crap. Literally researching mobos right now and this would have been perfect but already OOS (online)

    Just ranting,
For people dont track AM4 mobo price regularly, the retailers had jacked the price before BF, and after AM5 launched at eye popingly high price.
You were able to get MSI B550m-A Pro for $87 from Shopping Express Ebay, Gigabyte Gaming B550m for $120 from PLE, MSI Mortar B550m for $150 from BPCtech Amazon. And this BF, there is no sweet deal on AM4 mobo this BF.
If you have to buy an AM4 mobo this BF, another good alternative is this Asrock B550 Riptide from Umart for $169 with better feature set (I like the many USB3 ports, a USB-C port and 2.5G Lan, and 8+2 phase VRM using doubler, should suit 5900x and 8-core Ryzen better), but this MSI one has flashback and wifi. • I've been watching since around September, so I don't quite agree with you that the prices rises were specifically for Black Friday.

I have noticed AM4 boards going up by $10-$15 during the event, but e.g. for the actually good boards that went up $70 since ATL, the main proportion of price increases were months before this weekend.

This is a good price for a decent board now - except in the case of 5000 APUs which are cursed for this specific model.

      • Ye, I dont mean right before BF, I meant "after AM5 launched at eye popingly high price". I bought those three B550 boards btw May and Sep too. Price definitely creeped up after September

        • Prices up, supply way down. On eBay, distinct listings for B550M have gone down since October from 200+ listings to less than 130.

  • I currently have a B350M with a 3500X and will be picking up either a 6800 XT or a new gen AMD card soon.

Would there be any significant benefit upgrading the mobo as well?

    • 3500x is a bit weak, but in 4k gaming, it will be less of a bottleneck.

U better off wait for people selling old Ryzen 5000 CPU after they receive whatever they bought this BF.

  • Showing $189 for me, has it expired?

    • Yeah, $189 here as well. I've been searching for this board to be in stock somewhere all day lol

Would have snapped it up at $149 + shipping. If it's part of Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales why has it ended already?
