I wonder if this'll work with the 20% discount I've been offered to come back to Disney+.

    • Same interested to know

    • +4

If there’s a discount code, it’ll probably not track

      • I don't know how to remove that discount which automatically loads for returning customers

    • +1

Hey mate, this one can't be used in conjunction with any other offer, so wouldn't be able to stack this one. @victorngel

  • +6

Heads up, prices are increasing for Disney+ on 8th December. To $13.99 for monthly and $139.99 for annual.

So wow, locking in the annual price with CB would be great.

Too bad the window to claim is so small.

    • +1

It's not valid for current customers, so if you're already subscrided, you'll likely not get the cashback.

      • Seems for brand new users only hmmm

    • wow. How come App store hiked the price already?
Thankfully I just joined via this Cashback. I hope to get the cashback soon.

  • +3

Thanks OP, just in time to avoid the price hike

  • +1

So if I cancel my subscription right now will I be able to do this immediately?

    • +2

I just did this, hoping it'll get a cashback, but would like confirmation from OP.

In any case locking in the current price is helpful.

  • +2

My current sub doesn't end until 01/12 so I guess even if I cancel today, I won't be able to resubscribe at the lower amount.

I might sub in another family members name, but then I would lose all the progress details and have to restart teaching disney what we like.

Keen to hear intelligent, creative peoples workaround suggestions.

    • +1

Where i come from, we decide what to watch. The tv doesn't decide for us.

You don't need a workaround. Get the sub in the other family members name and be real.

      • -2

Cool. Where do you come from?

        Clearly I don't NEED a workaround.

Clearly I would like to have one.

Where I come from, I at least try to decide how I would like to consume a product/spend my time. Some random person doesn't decide for me.

        • +3

But your tv decides for you?

Sigh. There's very obviously no workaround. You do know this already, you just don't want to believe it.

          • +1

@justtoreply: You must have a more advanced or forceful tv than me.

A decent portion of deals on this website are workarounds in one way or another. And I know there are a lot more knowledgeable people than myself. Yes, this one is aiming high. But certainly wouldn't be the most surprising if it existed.

    • +1

No workaround, bite the bullet pay the annual so you get a discount and don't look back. That's where am at…headache to do the workaround to save $20-30 over a 1 year sub vs just biting the bullet, figured other easier savings to be made elsewhere. That's just me though.

      • Yep. That's the way I am leaning. I know it's not really much money. I'm just irrationally attracted to the savings game on things like this.

        • Looking into the Disney Turkey deal, that is worth spending time on if can get it for just under $30 for the year. Managed to do it for Google One 2TB, took an hour or so of fluffing about.

          • @BlueyDad: It took me hours of playing around, read through all the comments on previous deals before you try to avoid the many headaches.

    • Contact support via chat and ask to cancel with a refund, apparently it can take 2-3 business days, so may not be able to get this promo, but can at least subscribe with the cheaper price before the increase.

    • My sub ends today and iTunes is telling me the price is $139. No idea why.

    • I know your pain. My yearly sub ends on the 29th of November. One day after this deal expires.

  • Do you think I can create a new email and subscription and pay for it now whilst letting my other subscription that expires on 12 Dec to run out?

    • +2

Probably. Unless payment method or other personal details are what it goes on.

      • Was thinking that, guess my wife is signing up 😆

Just created a burner email for her so she can share with "family"

        • +1

I just signed up with a backup email. Worth sacrificing my remaining subscription to get the lower price and cash back

  • Anything good coming to Disney+ in the next few months?

  • -7

No one should be buying aussie disney+.. How do you guys call yourself ozbargainers?

    Go through Turkey, $30/year. FFS

    • +3

Any examples? What does "woke" mean to you?

  • +1

Thanks, great timing with the price increase coming.

  • +6

Hey all, just here to flag, unfortunately we've noticed some orders coming through tracked at $0.00, it looks like the back end had some issues when setting up. Don't sweat though, we've got it fixed up now, so any orders from about 1pm should track correctly, and we're going to automatically uplift any of the affected orders prior to the correct rate. Sorry if this causes any confusion here! Reach out with any q's mates.

    • Thanks for the update. Wondering how quick tracking should be? Is this one an instant-ish? Or an overnight(s)?
Put my order in about 30min ago and no confirmation on tracking yet.
      Thanks

      • +1

I havent received the confirmed tracking email, so I checked and mine is showing as "Calculating". I'm not worried yet.

        • +1

Thanks for that, just noticed the calculating in my browser extension now too. Couldn't find that in the app, but this now gives some reassurance.

    • First time using shopback, I just purchased the annual plan but my history just shows click, will it update to a different status?

      • +1

Hey mate, sorry I missed this! Yeah so tracking can take a little while to come through, usually within a few hours. You'll get an email confirming this :)

        • Hey could you please clarify? I'm interested but I've used Disney+ in the past, no current subscription. Does this mean I don't qualify for cashback? I'm sure there are plenty of others in my situation

  • +1

Has any one tried this method aprox $33 annual fee ? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/706829

    • +2

I did this 1 hour ago using the iOS method. No issues at all. $32 or so aud.
Wife is watching Castle as we speak.

      • +1

        cheers👍

      • He really is ruggedly handsome

  • +2

Maybe I'm an idiot but I can't work out how these coexist

Monthly subscription: $11.99 $1.99 but—> Cashback is not applicable to free trials, monthly plans

Offer is valid .. new or eligible returning Disney+ subscribers with no current active subscription but—> Cashback is not applicable to .. existing Disney+ customers

    Can anyone clarify?

    • Same confusion here but I note the ShopBack terms state,

Cashback is not applicable to free trials, monthly plans and existing Disney+ customers
Cashback is not payable on cancelled subscriptions

So I’ll have to assume this is for BRAND NEW user only and won't commit as I'm very risk adverse :P

    • I interpreted an "existing Disney+ customer" as someone who has an active subscription. Otherwise what's the distinguishing factor between that and a "returning Disney+ subscriber with no active subscription"?
(they are stopping people from topping up a cheap month when you already have the service and trying to target new people or entice previous subscribers to resubscribe).

      • +1

Hey GYB could you please clarify? I'm interested but I've used Disney+ in the past, no current subscription. Does this mean I don't qualify for cashback? I'm sure there are plenty of others in my situation. Also I have an offer from Disney to resubscribe at 20% off. Cheers.

        • +1

I was in the same boat and thought why not, if it doesn't go through, it's fine. I had tried Disney+ earlier in the year but had cancelled so didn't have an active subscription. The cashback tracked for me restarting my subscription on my inactive account.

        • @gotyourback could you clarify please?

          • +1

@sareth: Hey mate, what's been said is correct: if you do not currently have an active subscription, any new subscription will track. From the Disney+ terms page on our website:

Offer is valid from 25th November 2022 to 28 November 2022 for new or eligible returning Disney+ subscribers with no current active subscription who are Australian residents and 18 years of age or older.

            • @gotyourback: Thanks. Do I have to keep my membership active for more than 30 days to be eligible for the cashback? I usually just do a month here and there.

              • @sareth: Hmmm, the T's and C's state that "Cashback is not payable on cancelled subscriptions", so my guess is that if the subscription is cancelled during the payout period of 73 days it's possible that the Cashback will be invalidated, but I'll have to double check. Will update ASAP!

              • +1

@sareth: So feedback from my team is that for monthly subscriptions this should be fine, provided it's not a 30 day free trial and your card is charged, and the subscription is valid for the full month period, cancelling the contract after the month has passed and the contract for the month expires shouldn't cause troubles. If you do go ahead and end up running into trouble, shoot me a DM so I can help you out.

                • @gotyourback: Cool, yeah it's not a 30 day trial, I have actually charged my card so cashback should be honoured IMO

  • +3

As an empath, I feel like this is too expensive sir

    🦃🦃🦃$30🦃🦃🦃🦃

    • ☪ Agree ☪

  • Hi, new to this, if I sign up to monthly sub at $1.99, will I be able to keep that rate next month and so on? Or will I be charged the normal rate for the following month? Thank you.

    • Nope. With monthly subs when price increases come in you'll be charged that increase on your next billing cycle.

  • Hmmm my purchase still hasn’t tracked. Click has been recorded, transaction made on desktop. I guess it’s a support ticket sigh

    • +1

Same thing has happened to me. When I go to report the missing cashback, it just hangs while submitting. There is no actual order ID so I think that is an issue - I've tried to use a random code that was on the bottom of my confirmation email and then my username as the order ID but still just hangs. So frustrating.

  • yepp same as me, mine didnt get tracked either

  • Same same…

  • +1

Hasn't tracked for me either. Like the other person said, there is no order id in the email Disney sends you. Really frustrating.

  • From GYB:

I'll get out team to look into it.
Could just take a few days

  • +1

Hasn’t tracked for me either, not sure where to locate an order ID also as it is not in the Disney email.

  • Still no word. Am going through the arduous process of contacting shopback ffs.

    • -2

I’ve sent GYB a dm on OzB to provide an update on here. Haven’t heard back either. Must be swamped by the Deliveroo and BF deals

      • No worries mate. No fault of yours, just an inconvenience at the end of the day.

    • Did you have any luck? The whole lack of order number makes me think this is going to be a lost cause :(

      • I got a reply from SB to say that they had rejected my claim because it had in fact tracked and was showing up in my account… but it’s not! I replied but no answer whatsoever so filed a second claim.
Also had my Vodafone cb rejected for no reason. On top of the Deliveroo fiasco. Really feeling like it’s not worth the effort. Sorry I got sucked into this because the hassle isn’t worth $10.

      • I was told to just put my email address as the order id (the email I have for shopback) and then I added screenshots from my Disney+ confirmation email which i specified had no order id.

I still haven't heard back from shopback, but currently have the "missing cashback" as reported, where they're calculating and validating the cashback.

  • Ok folks I have had some luck re. the order number. On shopback virtual help they said to contact the vendor for a number, I took a chance and contacted Disney+ - they were great.

Their response is - "To get the details of your order ID, you can get it from your bank statement, there's a payment number indicated on your bank statement."

I am going to put through a shopback claim now and let you know how I go.

  • I just had my cashback manually added! Does anyone know when is the soonest you can cancel? I already had the free trial, so have already paid for the first month.

  • +1

Update - my cashback came through! So good luck everyone and Merry Christmas! :)

  • +1

So I only just remembered this deal because of this one getting posted. I never got a cashback even though I got charged for an annual subscription on the day of this deal, and now it's juuuuuust outside the 30 day window for missing cashback claims. It doesn't help that my bank statement doesn't have an order number for the transaction so I wouldn't even know what to report.

Anyone have any luck reporting cashbacks outside the 30 day timeframe?

    • +1

If you contact the Store Rep gotyourback they might be able to help. I raised a support ticket a few days after my cashback didn't appear. It's now pending with no dollar value so I'm going to have to raise it with them again.

  • @gotyourback

I got a notification that my cashback was rejected. I went through the process of screenshotting the proof of purchase email that Disney sent me on the day of purchase which I did by first clicking through on your guys site (it even shows in my click activity). Yet for some bloody reason someone decided to reject my shopback. Would appreciate some guidance here as that's pretty shocking.

    • I think I'm about to be in the same boat - Feb 9th is the date on mine. Still says Calculating - Pending so expecting it to be rejected. I've already been in contact with GYB. Will chase again if it's actually rejected and hopefully it can be manually changed to approved.

      • They're a bunch of dodgy bastards at that company. This'll probably the last time I do anything through their site unless they fix this.

        • Hey Mate,

Can you please drop me a DM and I will be happy to help.

          Cheers!

          • @gotyourback: Don't worry about it, I got my brother to check his email and he didn't even see that the email was sent to him on Jan 23rd outlining why the cashback was rejected (a bunch of potential reasons were outlined with one having to do with adblock which I think might have been the reason — either that, or Disney are just stingy). Not worth the headache, cheers mate, nothing against you but just cbf going through this arduous process.

  • Hi Mate,

Ok no problem. Feel free to reach out for anything else.

    Cheers!

  • Mine arrived!
