I personally hated this mouse not sure if mine became defective but it keeps losing signal only had it for 6 months before it really played up

    • +4

It's standard unfortunately… When it works it's great but is prone to drop outs

    • +1

It was my second mouse other than G Pro.
Maybe it is not my primary one, i did not experienced it yet…
But this mouse is great to have 2 connection methods, so i can easily switch to control my personal desktop or my working laptop from time to time.

    • +1

Use bluetooth, this issue only with 2.4 wireless and when you are away for a few mins, have to power it off and on to connect it back.

No problem if you away longer.

      • Just connected via Bluetooth as so far so good… Thank you

        • +1

Just connected via Bluetooth as so far so good

          Not for gaming.

    • Normal Razer feature

    • surely you can claim it under warranty?

    • +2

Why neg the deal when you don't like the product?

  • +1

I really like this mouse EXCEPT for the occasional drop outs which is a pain…

  • +1

AVOID THIS MOUSE. Constant drop outs

  • +1

Great mouse. All my dropouts would occur if I AFK'd but only seldomly. Never has it dropped during active usage. 2.4hz.

    For $39, can recommend.

  • Trash trash trash! Wouldn't wish this mouse on my worst enemy… *in cod

  • Bought it at$45. So far so good. Battery is great.

  • I have this mouse (owned for about 1.5 years) and the ultimate version (owned for about 6 months). Very rarely experience drop outs if at all. I also have large hands and find it to be super comfortable.

  • +1

Owned mine for a year now and had no drop outs

    • Very strange some have a lot drop outs and some never.

Mine only happened if I am away for a few mins, if away longer no problem and never happen in the middle of something.

      • Maybe change the standby delay setting or update the firmware?

      • How exactly doesit drop out after afk? Mine wakes up almost instantly after 1-2 seconds, is this what people complain about?

        • It becomes unresponsive. Turning it off and on again doesn't fix the issue. I have to take the battery out, put it back in and then it's good to go.

        • Cursor disappeared, have to turn if off and on for my case, no need to remove battery.

Maybe change the standby delay setting or update the firmware?

Already updated firmware several times, just up the wireless power saving to 10 mins.

  • Please do not buy this mouse, especially if you're a gamer. Biggest regret. Constant drop outs. Beyond frustrating when you're in a comp FPS game.

    • +1

I’ll remember not to use this one next time I am in a comp lol

      • in this context, comp = competitive / ranked :)

    • I would suggest this is likely a conflict in wireless connection. I used to have heaps of problems with my MX Master 3 mouse but found that it was just when I used a certain USB3 port on my pc, moved it to a USB 2 port and havent had a single issue. When I was researching the issue I came across heaps of mice with similar issues - I would suggest moving your receiver to a different port, pref usb 2 if you have them and see if the issue still occurs.

    • +1
    • I have the same issue

    • +1

lol OZB, this guy gets downvoted for saying it drops out, but first commenter gets upvoted for saying the same.

  • Mine is currently set on 2.4g and I also do not experience dropouts. Maybe it's interference?
Otherwise, apart from maybe missing an extra button (or two), I really like it.

  • I have this mouse and experience the drop outs, however, it has never been during gaming. Usually, while I'm working.

  • +1

They just straight up ripped off Logitech's design huh?

    • Life is easier that way lol

      • If it had USB C charging port and not actually using a rechargeable battery inside I may consider it. But heard some pretty bad reviews re QC on these units so that is a no from me chief. Waiting for the G502 Wireless to drop to sub 45.

        • +1

Why not just use rechargeable batteries? That way you can just swap them whenever it dies and you don't have to plug it in and either wait for it to charge or use it wired. There's also no worrying about battery degradation since you can just throw a new one in.

          • @Void: I hate swapping batteries :(

            • +1

@Grey 13: I guess it just depends on the person. I'm already in the Eneloop ecosystem with a battery charger and a lot of my devices already using them so for me it's just easier to throw my mouse into the mix and take the few benefits.

              • +1

@Void: Ah bring me back to the time when Dick Smith was closing down. So many Eneloop deals…

    • +1

It means it loses connection to the receiver and becomes unresponsive.

It's very comfortable. Definitely on the larger size.

  • +1

If you're having issues with the mouse refusing to reconnect/wake from sleep, make sure you upgrade the firmware! Mine hasn't done it since the update.

Note that the firmware updater is a separate app from Razer Synapse.

    • Thank you!

    • You can also only update it if you have a bluetooth option for a pc

  • I've been using this mouse for about 2 years. No drop out issues for me, other than the intentional power saving design where it will go into standby when inactive on the bluetooth mode. However I use mine mostly in the 2.4g dongle mode as I wasn't a big fan of the standby mode.

Other than that battery life is great, probably around 6 months with a single AA battery.

  • +1

For me, it's 2.4g for daily tasks and BT for FPS gaming. I have to say the BT mode almost never fails me unless it's running out of battery ofc. Great value.

  • +2

Mine exhibited a double-click issue with light use just shy of two years from purchase.

    Never again.

  • +1

    This or Logitech G305?

    • +2

      Logitech G305 for sure.

      • Thanks for the input!!

  • +2

Big regrets buying this mouse from a previous deal. Drops out constantly. Upgraded to a mx master 3s & all problems went away.

Spend a little more, this is e-waste.

  • I never buy Razer mouse after two previous wired and wireless mouse had constant dropout issues. And it's almost impossible to get warranty so never again…

    • +3

wired and wireless mouse had constant dropout issues.

      How can wired mouse dropout?

      • The wireless was probably dropout, Wired was probably just overall generally shit. Its Razer

  • A shame about the drop outs. I'm still using my Logitech MX518 from over 10 years ago. Wish they had a wireless version. Anyone recommend a worthy, wireless replacement?

  • +1

Great deal, less than half what I paid for mine last year. And I'm bucking the trend here - never had a dropout with either my personal or work one of these mice

  • It's cheap for a reason. The product is defective. I had to return twice, both devices had constant drop outs.

  • Can you bind the two buttons to volume control? Can’t do without that

    • With the Razer Synapse app, you can bind any buttons to any functions.

      • Cheers, might be a buy then.

  • +2

I've had this mouse for a year (bought during Xmas 2021) & never had any drop out issue, both with bluetooth or the 2.4ghz dongle.

One of the neat thing with this mouse is it kinda work with 2 computers with simple connection switch.
At home with my work PC it's connected using the dongle. While going for work with my laptop, it's connected using bluetooth.

  • Mine lasted about 18 months. Great mouse when it worked (ETA: my favourite!), but it just stopped connecting one day.

  • +1

I bought one of these after my death adder died after 6 years of use. I bought one of these as a budget option as I don't game as much any more and it's been going strong for 2 years. I haven't really had any drop out issues. Just my 2 cents.

  • At this price I'm willing to ignore the issues and pray that mine works well. By price matching at JB Hi-Fi and using a 15% off $30 TCN Teens gift card from Coles it comes down to $34.50 given that they don't reject it for being Amazon.

    • Argh accidentally bought the Ultimate gift card instead of the TCN so screwed myself over $4.50. No way to return either.

JB Hi-Fi price matched for me though. I think Amazon AU is part of their matchable list as they made sure it wasn't a third party seller.

  • +1

Mine arrived and feels great. Very comfortable

  • Bought this mouse a few months ago. Seems to go to sleep and not wake up. Useless with rechargeable batteries.

    • Yes that's been happening to me too… I'm now using Bluetooth for connectivity… I just flick across to 2.4ghz then back to Bluetooth… Shouldn't have to do that but unfortunately that's how it is, otherwise I quite like this mouse…

  • Got this mouse at $49, hard to believe it's dropped twice more lol.
It's great. But I've ordered a AAA battery adapter to reduce the weight, and am going to attack it with the drill to reduct the weight even further.
Best bluetooth mouse option for larger hands, and has the 2.4Ghz receiver as well, so I can just flick the switch and go from my MacBook to my PC without issues.
