Ridgeback 26 Inch Mountain Bike $100 in-Store/ C&C @ Supercheap Auto (Limited Stock)

90

This little ripper is back. Some say, "Good bike, but don't go black trails", others say, "Good for black trails, but concern about rusting through before reaching the end." There is even a story about someone taking this to the UCI World Championships. Straight up! But anyway, whichever side of the boat you are on, let's all agree with a previous comment, that for $100, worrying about theft is no longer a problem.

Like last deal, the Goldcross Promenade 700 S2 Vintage Bike is also on sale for $100 and while not a mountain bike per se, many have taken up the challenge… and won. edit: OOS

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

  • Any tips for similar priced decent mtb, somewhere that actually has stock?

  • I bought one is ok, but is it actually ridgeback or they just put the label on, cause ridgeback is a reputable bike brand in UK not so much in AU

I'm worried someone may steel my front wheel what should I do

  • SA is only Gawler (& perhaps further norf)

  • Also bought one last time to start riding local bike paths just for fitness. At first thought everything was fine until I rode a friend's bike and realised I needed to upgrade. Couple of quick points why I wanted to upgrade, being 180cm or 6ft tall this Ridgeback frame is slightly too small and it was slow. Being an absolute beginner I wasn't willing to fork out more than what I paid for this, so hit FB marketplace and for $80 picked up a second hand Radius 21" hybrid with alloy frame and wheels with 21 gears in excellent condition and he even threw in a new tyre pump. The Radius is much lighter, more comfortable to ride, has better gear shifts and a lot faster and I've had no problems with it. So as a beginner if I was to do this all over again, I would've gone to marketplace first and not bought the Ridgeback as there are plenty of better second hand bikes available at reasonable prices. The Ridgeback is really ideal for kids.

    • did you know how to change gears, really helps. But could you fit a 28 cm wheel into the frame.

also 21inch that's smaller than 26 inch isn't that more cramp

      • Lol I did know how to change the gears but the switchgear on the Radius is so much easier to use to change gears.

The 26 inch reference on the Ridgeback is a reference to the tyre size not the frame. The Radius is a 21 inch frame.

    • being 180cm or 6ft tall

There is your problem! It is too small. Anything else is irrelevant.

I hope you have had advice and help to adjust your new bike so it fits properly.

  • Hi everyone, a friend have this bije and he said that he hears ticking sound when riding, did you guys need to adjust the bike before habd or just use it out of the box
