    eBay Plus membership required apparently?

    Getting this message:

"To apply this code, you need to be an eBay Plus member."

Gonna be hard to pull the trigger on this for anything less than the $2270 price we saw yesterday :(

    • +4

If you factor in the ~$150 shipping in yesterday's deal this deal works out to be about the same

      • +5

yeah but you didn't need to factor in the shipping. Person I dealt with didn't ask about shipping, as yesterday's deal also includes a C&C option (albeit in QLD only)
A large number of us have bought at the $2270 price and then paid JB delivery (or C&C). In my case it was $59. I live in Sydney btw.

    • Yeah tbh can't see myself going for this since the cheaper deal is already gone.

    Waiting for backlit OLEDs :)

    • +8

You'll be waiting a while since oleds don't use backlights lol.

When I google LG CS OLED it comes up with the CX. How do these compare to the C2? Are they 2022 models? Cheers

    • +2

Do a quick search in here and you shall see bunch of CS deals with info about your question.

It is the C2 processor with C1 panel and housing

    • +2

After doing some reading I found that:

      • The CS weights more than the C2 by about 6-7 Kg more.
      • The C2 has an EVO panel that is brighter and can reduce burn-in compared to the CS panel.
      • The C2 has built-in Wifi 6 whilst the CS has Wifi 5.

There is not too much info about the CS so who knows if the above is 100% accurate.

      • Woah that's a big weight difference

  • Kind of unrelated but does anyone know a good 4K TV under $500?
    So far I've found
    Hisense A6HAU 50"
    TCL P735 43"
    JVC 50"

Not sure what I should be looking for. I saw some Kogan ones too but sounded like garbage after reading some reviews

    • +2

My 2 cents would be shop for a reliable second hand TV in that price range. The TCL and Hisense models we get in Australia don't appear to be the same well reviewed models from overseas (even though the model numbers are similar).

That being said something like this might be ok if you don't rely on the smarts (plug in a proper Chromecast) or sound from it. The discount has it cheaper than the 43 inch you had in the list.
      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/tcl-p735-50-4k-ultra-hd-a…

Reviews on the page indicate its good for the price (especially if you take steps to avoid the sounds and smarts of the TV).

      • Thanks for the reply.
I don't care much about the "smarts" of the TV. I'll be using it for PlayStation and PC gaming and movies of a USB drive.
Audio is kind of important. It doesn't need to be fantastic but should be decent.
What discount are you referring to? 43" shows as $495 while the 50" is $595

Edit: I'll checkout second hand TVs in the local area too. I'm guessing reliable second hand brands would be the big names like Samsung, LG and Sony? Any others I should also keep an eye out for?

        • +1

ah I thought the 50 inch was $495 but you are right its $595. For second hand I'd be looking Sony (my brand preference for TVs) and Samsung. Outside of their Oleds I'm not sure that LG are really much good (may be wrong on that). You can generally find reviews for midrange models from more common brands that will hopefully fall in your price range on the second hand market, that way you can have a better idea of what you are getting.

  • Bought. 3 left now
I think its better to grab one at near all time low prices than potentially miss the sale and have to wait for the next big one… should be plenty of options come boxing day though

    • Looks like they're drip feeding stock

  • +1

JB wasn't interested in matching this when I checked.

  • Thanks! I missed out on that Videopro deal and I’m doubtful we’ll see that again (pricing error maybe?). Was about to pull the trigger on the JB pricing but luckily saw this first. Don’t mind paying $5 for a month of eBay Plus for this!

Title says it all, 'Mysterious LG CS Black Friday TV explained'….

    https://www.techradar.com/news/the-mysterious-lg-cs-oled-tv-…

Basically last years panel with this years guts.

    • +1

Thank you, i was googling the CS model and couldnt find anything until I noticed your comment. Not being the new 20% brighter Evo panel does give me pause to think.. but still considering. Cheers.

  • I queried a price match for this with JB HiFi via their Live Chat and they honoured it plus the extra $100 off coupon from the eBay promo bringing the total down to $1720 for the 55” model CS.
Not as good as the deal from yesterday, but I’m gambling on it being as good for gaming as the C1 now they’re unobtainable just about.

    • Tried twice now best I was able to get them down to was 2599 so far

  • Is it good to wait for the LG C2 65"? Been waiting for it to go below 3k but no dice so far. :(

    • I think LG wants to clear the CS stock, so no one has C2 on sale this Black Friday. No good

      • Yeah really disappointing… held out for a 65" C2 for nuttin'
