I've got this fridge. I rate it.

    • What's the noise level like?

      • +2

I also have this fridge. Barely notice it. Sometimes hear it buzzing quietly when the compressor is doing its thing but it just sounds like… a fridge.

        • +1

I've got a very similar one (GB-455BLE, think it's the same but black), paid $56 more back last April. Agree, sound is fine, very unusual to notice it at all.

  • Just paid $50 more for this exact fridge on the weekend..

Appliances Online are refunding the extra $51. Thanks op!!

I've had this fridge since 2020. I've moved three times with the fridge and I've never had any issues. Still going strong and I highly recommend.

    • This is reassuring to hear at least

    • What colour do you have?

      • I've got the dark graphite. The colour is similar to the Mazda in gunmetal grey.

Great fridge. I've put too many stickers on it and now I look like a fool. The fridge though - legendary

Lucky it has a 10 Year Parts Warranty on Linear Inverter Compressor. I purchased one oo in the year 2020 and 1.5 years later it needed a new compressor, it was replaced under warranty and serviced at the family home. But still going strong. Don't get black if you have kids or teenagers or grubby people.

Anyone in Brisbane and wants a factory second.

    • Wtf 1.5yr compressor fail… Weren't you pissed?

      • +4

Why be pissed? It was replaced for free.

        • Ya but never cross your mind about the quality?

Also did you have any spoiled food?

          • +7

@Poor Ass: Shit happens. Life goes on.

            • @Azro: ya but makes you think if you would buy again

  • +1

I bought one of these over a year ago when Qld government was paying an energy saving rebate (I think it was $350). Still sitting in the box in my garage. Lol

    • Hahaha yeh I remember that was when everyone was finding an excuse to replace their existing white good

  • We have stainless steel appliances. Can anyone with this model comment on the colour? Is it metallic or more of an enamel finish?

Trying to convince the wife it will look ok…

    • Also keen to know…

    • +2

Went and looked at it at Harvey Norman on the weekend, it’s just a “darker” stainless steel.

      • Good enough for me - thanks

    • +1

      It's grey metallic

For whom ever wonder: compare to GB-455PL this is non-reversible door (open left to right) and has one less energy star, not sure why because they use same compressor.

    • LG website says the stainless steel model has a linear compressor as opposed to an inverter, I have no idea what these words mean.

      • +1

I have the stainless model and it's very noisy, don't get the linear compressor models

    • +5

Agreed, not sure why the energy difference. I've go the GB-455PL model and it's rated at 300kWh per year, where this one I think is 348kWh per year. I think the latest GB-455PL has gone down to 286kWh per year. Remarkably efficient for it's size.

The GB-455PL also has a folding shelf and the veggie bin has a humidity selector, whereas this one doesn't. I really love the folding shelf, and most of the time it stays half folded allowing tall bottles, etc to sit on the veggie drawer.

I bought my GB-455PL not a mark on it from FB marketplace -2 years old. The lady was moving in with her partner so had to get rid of a fridge. Still had the plastic all over it. Paid $500. Been the best fridge I've had. So quiet, so much room inside and so efficient on power.

I'm so used to how quiet it is, I actually notice how noisy friends and family's fridges are now when I'm in their kitchen/adjacent rooms.

This UPLE model and UPLX model has always been priced a few hundred cheaper than the GB-455PL model. I specifically looked out second hand for the latter as I think it's better value - cheaper to run and the split shelf inside.

  • Thanks OP - got one. I've been on the lookout for a decently priced fridge that will fit in our smallish cavity for ages.

Also, if you can't get free delivery from Betta, Appliance Central has it for the same price with free delivery to some cities and free removal of the old fridge.

  • bought a discounted gift car from bupa to pay for it, but can't use the gift card online… such a pain

  • I bought this fridge in 2017 for about $850 from memory and I was really happy with it. One of my best purchases… you know when things just do what they're supposed to do? I even moved from Canberra to Perth with it and have had 0 issues. I reluctantly sold it 2 months ago because I finally accepted we need something bigger. Sold it for $500 pretty easily, so another bonus is that it holds its value well!

  • Would buy it but want the door to open the other way. Why can’t they make them generic to either side.

    • Get an Electrolux, you can get a fridge that can open the doorway you wanted, but 3x of the price of this lol.

  • Thank you very much OP, bought one. I was able to call up the store and ask them to keep it at their store until when I need it in March/April.

  • Got 1 thank you! I’ve been on the hunt for a new fridge!

  • bought samsung fridge 2021 first year ok second year is very noisy

moved to a new place and bought this one love it quite and never had any issues

  • Hi
Is this still available? Price seems to have gone up..

  • Anyone knows where to store the egg since no egg tray provided

  • My cabinet space is limited so I went to Domayne and actually measured it, it's actually more like 1745mm as there are metal bits at the top toward the back that juts out. Unfortunately this was too tall for my cabinet.
