  • Anyone know if this is any good for drying the car after a wash?

    • +3

Not really… it's not that powerful. Way more useful for blowing dust.

    • Tried that once with a 2x18V garden blower and it was pretty useless. The carwash air curtain is easily 50-100x more powerful, hence it works.

    • I have an AEG equivalent, and often use it along with a micro fibre towel (a bowdens big green sucker) to dry our car. Handy for blowing water out of all the nooks and crannies

      • Yeah, and the AEG is extremely similar. Just different colour and battery mounting. I've got the Ryobi bought the AEG extension tube for it since it's the same connector.

Good little blower. Gets more use than my other tools for sure.

    • +2

It's enough for blowing out alot of the water but not completely drying out the car, which for me is fine cause I like to spray down with some Bowden after glow and wipe down with microfibre cloth leveraging off the remaining water as a lube.

    • Yes can confirm it's great, you'll need ear muffs though because it has a loud whine from the motor.
Other than that it does a good job from blasting water from crease lines and other crevices.

I coincidentally used this last night on my car

  • Anyone think this is too small for the yard? The next step up goes up to 245km/h and is classed as a leaf blower, but not sure if the difference between the two is significant? more importantly is the leaf blower actually big enough for the yard?

    • +3

It's not for a yard. It's for smaller tasks like work spaces. I use it for cleaning out the vacuum + blowing dust out of filters.

    • +1

Only have a small yard, but it works well enough for me. Moves leaves and grass cuttings. I did get the extension tube that AEG make though, (same connector) and that made it easier for yard work.

    • It's ok for dry stuff as mentioned above, given it's a short blower makes it difficult to use in open areas.
Works perfectly in a garage or similar to blow out dust and leaves plus finishing up drying the car

  • I had a Tradie over at my place with the dewalt https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-18v-li-ion-cordless-blowe… and it put my Ryobi One +Garden Blower to shame. I would be interested to see if anyone has compared this one with the dewalt ? Specs are almost identical. This one is prob wirht it just for the battery tho, assuming you have other Ryobi tools.

    • More than your garden blower? But.. this Ryobi workshop blower has more power than the DeWalt..
      https://www.ryobi.com.au/products/details/18v-one-workshop-b…

      • Isn’t the DeWalt air speed 288km/h vs 200km/h for the Ryobi?

    • +1

I have the Ryobi workshop blower, and my friend has one of the larger blowers from a Ryobi kit(a lower end model) and they said that mine was way more powerful.

Granted, the workshop blower has a smaller tube at the end, so while more powerful, it's got a smaller spread.

    your neighbours hate you

  • I use the ozito one for cleaning computer, garage

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-workshop-blower-an…

  • +1

I have this one for the garage, does the trick. Use it to dry nooks and crannies of the car also (wing mirrors, front grill, etc) - works decently. Have used it in a pinch to blow leaves off the pathway… Better than nothing, but it's not what it's designed for.

  • Heck, I just use my normal 36v blower for the workshop. As it usually send tools flying keeps it real trying to find things afterwards

  • This is a good little variable unit. I use it for our small yard but it's mostly used inside to push debris into our Robo-vac. It doesn't cause too much of a storm as its quite low-powered (on setting 01)

  • These are for speeding up charcoal chimneys

  • Ghetto Engine supercharger?

    • Maybe for a small engine like a brush cutter or a leaf blower. Good luck tuning it

      • Nah I've seen these used for charging car engines. Bigger air throughput than this though.

        • So not this then…
Electric forced induction is fine to mention just saying I wouldn't apply this Ryobi 18v air blower to a car SMH

        • You've seen pants on head retardation. It doesn't work. Even mercedes has only just bought out an electric compressor for road cars based on their F1 tech.

Also Ryobi wet and dry vacuum $59. 0393843

  • Can’t decide which one to get. This one or:
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-cordless-garden-bl…

Don’t really need batteries or charger…

    • +1

Get this, sell battery and charger, save money. But this is small, not going to do a garden with this, depends on your use really…I wanted it for inside the car and around house.

      • Oh, didn’t realise this has a short tube… that’s what they mean be a workshop blower. Ok that makes a difference… but turns out there’s an ozito blower kit for $89…

  • Thoughts on being able to blow garage? Or better off to get a the proper leaf blower?

    • +1

This is perfect for the garage. Mine gets used partially for blowing leaves and sawdust out of the shed, and partially for getting fires roaring in our firepit.

  • +1

official 4ah battery costs more on its own - so if you need a spare battery get this instead - free blower

  • +1

I have one of these and find it very useful for quickly blowing the dust and leaves off my alfresco. Short tube is good for manoeuvrability and i don't really need anything more powerful as it's more than capable for my purposes. I also use it for the garage.

I think in general it works really well when you're blowing things off of HARD surfaces like concrete and tiles. Not sure how well it would fare blowing leaves out of grass though. I imagine it would move the leaves on top of the pile but might struggle with those more stuck into the grass.

    I don't need this, I don't need this, I don't need this, I don't need this

    • Buy first, think later ;p

  • Price reduced from original deal price of $125 to $111.90.

  • The price show 125 for me in Brisbane

    • Up for me too (vic). thanks.
