  Why no one able to hack kindle so we can load epub without converting etc.
  Can well load different o/s for example ?

    I was interested in this as well. I just google searched it and there is a way to at least make use of epub (even though in converts it to an Amazon format).

    It's a recent development so assuming the websites I read are accurate, this is now possible.

    Email to kindle now accepts EPUB (mobi gets rejected). So email your epubs.

    If you use calibre - E-book management it auto converts and manages your library for you.

    Then you're free to download any ebook file types for your kindle.

  Gee they're still expensive.

  Last year I got the 32gb 4g Paperwhite for $208 at OW.
