    • Not true. The true winners from the Dell AW3821DW deal were the ones who contacted support to confirm their orders

      • +1

Pretty sure Demod meant eBay customer support but could be wrong

    • better to contact and be sure, eg in my case I cancelled ebay and still got this offer.

  • does the voucher work with ebay discount codes?

    • +1

Negative. Effectively reducing the true value of the voucher.

  • When does the voucher, expire does any know?

    • +1

At the end of the year.

  • -1

Anything good for $80 in ebay?

    • +1

      Yes

      • -2

Any recommendations? May be some bargain during black friday.

  • Can’t think of what to buy…

    • Anything at full price.

      • +2

We should hang out for drinks together sometime

  • -3

Got so excited i signed up to a monthly plan by accident

  • -1

So hot when regular top posters find these deals.

  • I had a banner on my ebay clicked on that , email isnt relevant as far as I can tell.

Wonder when we get the $80 voucher? says after the 30 day trial but I dont have a trial as previous been a member.

    • +2

same here and I took screen shot of the banner and activation confirmation just in case.

  • I'm already an eBay Plus member, $49 was taken out in July then I realise I don't get the benefits associated with a Plus. It was darn hard to get in touch with eBay and when I managed through FB they just said I'm no longer a Plus member and left it at that, WTF? They basically stole my money. Very sneaky indeed and now they offered again that if I join eBay Plus I'll get all the benefits plus $80, yeah right? They are most probably going to do the same again after a month or so. I feel they are getting desperate to boost up their petty cash.

    • +4

How is it damn hard to get in touch with ebay? They have a chat option in the help section. At most ive waited a few minutes to get an agent. Their competence at customer service though, that's a different discussion.

      • +7

Their customer service chat is a bunch of monkeys who read out answers to questions that are easily found in eBay Ts&C's/FAQs. They have no authority to do anything, everything is automated by "the system".

      • Nope, before you can have a chat you need to indicate what it's all about eg buying, selling, account etc, then after you select what you think is the best option, they gave you a submenu and so on, at the end most of the time the options have nothing to do with what your querying.

        • +1

Doesn't actually matter which option you pick though, they'd just connect you to the relevant department in chat.

  • +4

I didn't get an email but had the banner in my ebay area… So I clicked it and have signed up. Surely they will pay the $80 voucher otherwise I'll be going full Karen on them. Couldn't give a shit what the T&C say about email, if they plaster a huge banner on my account and I click through it and sign up, I best be either getting my $49 back or the voucher as advertised!

    • +1

its targeted (invite only) check your msg inbox from ebay

      • +4

Yeah but my point is, if I didn't get a message in the inbox (or email), but I still got this huge banner offering me the $80 voucher, IMO that means I am eligible or they have grossly falsified the advertisement.

        • Your point is good but eBay is full of coding stuff ups and contradictions.
When it comes to arguing your case with customer service, they will go entirely off their interpretation of the T & C

        • +1

I believe the same, didn't get the invite, but had the banner all over ebay, so i took a screenshot just in case. Besides, when visiting the link, it said that i was eligible and that it was activated for me to buy the membership.

    • But on the banner etc it says new customers only. Are you been a + member before? If not, you should be fine

    • "I click through it and sign up'
nahh, when you click on banner, there is no signup button, there is a button / link for "Start Selling" and "Go to my ebay"

      • There was an activate offer button and a thing with a link to sign up to plus?

  • +1

Thanks OP I was waitintg for this deal

  • Ex ebay plus subscriber but still targeted? says new signs up in one part then nothing in T&C's? might as well screenshot t&cs.

  • +2

So hard to follow, follow links etc now telling me "You have already tested eBay Plus for free. If you sign up now, the membership fee is due immediately." I know for a fact I have never used it, may becuase i pressed a link and it has already started my 30 day trial :

How can you see if you have ebayplus? Or even had it before? This is why I use amazon, ebay is blah…..

    • Got the same messages as you do. Have they taken out the $49 from your bank yet? Mine hasn't. But I also didn't get any emails regarding the $80 nor having signed up to eBay plus

      • Nay nothing taken from me yet, but from what i can tell I havent signed up to EbayPlus yet… well i dont think I have ….. i didnt think I accepted the offer either but ebay tells me I did!! Very odd.

  • +4

Personally for me, I think I'm gonna be skipping the 'risk v reward' option (double dipping with $20 voucher) and just go with signing up through Shopback for the $15. I just don't want waste my time having to go through CS if they only gave me $20 because I signed up through the $20 link. I think $31 extra is good enough for me with the extra $15 from Shopback if that goes through/doesn't get voided.

But for now I'll wait for a bit before signing up incase SB decides to bump up the cb.

  • +1

thanks for OP, actually reminded me to cancel my subscription. eBay not offering me this offer made it an easy decision

  • +1

Thanks OP, I got the offer. eBay plus not worth it unless they pay me, and this deal qualifies :)
I saved screenshots as evidence in case I don't get my voucher.

  • +1

Can you use the 80$ voucher in conjunction with ebay plus code or offer?

    • +2

As far as i remember, no, you can't, so full priced items only :/

  • lol my 4 other accounts which don't have plus all aren't targeted.

    • They are not targeted because you didn't get the email, or because it said you weren't targeted when you clicked on the deal link?

      • +1

        Clicked the link from doweyy

      • you can check both.
should get the promo in the email as well.

I was on chat just now asking whether you would receive the $20 and $80 vouchers and this is what they said

FWIW I never received an email or message with the $80 offer, I just used the link in the first comment to accept offer.

    Rabi17:58 PM
I have checked the details and can see that you have successfully accepted the $80 voucher offer for joining ebay plus.

    Rabi17:58 PM
Please do not get confused both offer are different.

    Rabi17:59 PM
Those who have received the $20 voucher that means they have joined through the offer $20 voucher.

    Rabi18:00 PM
And in your case, you have joined via the $80 voucher here you will get the $80 voucher as it will be start to distributed to eligible members from 21st Nov, 2022.

    • so double dip isn't possible ?

      • No, that's what I was trying to figure out. In fact if you used the $20 link you might run into problems. I ended up using Shopback got $15 cashback instead

        • +2

I apparently will get both. I activated the $80 promo the other day. Today, I noticed the banner said 'sign up and get $20 coupon'. Signed up and got the 20 coupon straight away. Went onto chat to ask about the $80 coupon, and was told they can see it in my account and I will get it on the 21st of November… got chat transcript and screenshots in case. Just successfully used the 20 coupon.

        • @cute as ducks How to get $15 from Shopback ? Do i need to activate some offer for it ? I can't see it anywhere in my shopback.

          • +1

@ChipsChicky: Type "eBay Plus" into the app and one will come up with the logo and 4%

It's not an offer you need to accept.

      • It is possible most likely, judging from past promos.

But ofcourse the eBay dont want to create a flood of customers being feeling entitled

    • Its a good idea to be cautious because eBay is so random but equally I wouldn't particularly trust eBay customers service's opinion

  • Signed up yesterday and got a couple of $5 coupons today (one $15 and the other $50 minimum spend), nice!

Edit: Of note is that my other eBay account with Plus has yet to receive this month's coupons.

    • I can also sign up for [eBay Plus] 0% Variable Fees on 3 Sales Per Month by Eligible Sellers @ eBay (Activation Required) now, though it curiously starts on 18/10 with a 16/11 expiry.

      • Wow, lucky u. I activated that offer late on the 13/10, and expiry was te same as that thread, which is end of this month

        • Same for my other account (31/10 expiry). The wording suggests it will be an ongoing deal, so I think I might have preferred for the start and end dates to be easier to keep track of.

    • It looks like cheapest plus item is $9.95. I cannot find any item for free with $5 coupon.

  • -1

Ok time to start dispute with Paypal lol, ebay rep told me you will only get one promo.

  • No emails, no messages in ebay, just click on first comment link… I am eligible
    see chat with ebay…
"I appreciate your patience, I can see now that you are eligible cause you receive an invite as for this xxxxxxx. the Voucher will be issued to Your eBay.com.au account within 10 days of successful payment of your annual eBay Plus membership, starting from 21 November 2022. For the avoidance of doubt, if you signed up to an eBay Plus 30 day free trial, you will not receive the Voucher until your eBay Plus membership renews to an annual paid membership."

  • +2

I made a lot of trial accounts in the past to spend $20 and use the AFTERPAY10 code to get 10 off. I looked up the first accounts and I have heaps with the $80 offer.

    • +1

Same unfortunately AFTERPAY10 seems to be ceased and prob never coming back. I recently made an account and I was targeted for $10 off using afterpay, min. 20 dollar spend but it's now a unique account-bound code.

    • Do you use different phone numbers and emails? Tried once and got account flagged.

      • +2

Different email and just a random phone number.

      • +1

        and different ip & browser

  • How to get $15 with Shopback on this ? Can't find any link in app or website to activate.

      • I followed it and apparently I haven't received any tracking confirmation yet, did you get it straight away ?

        • +1

It takes approx 120 hours for the cashback to be tracked.

        • +1

check your SB account, they didn't send tracking email, and took 4 days to track

      • Will SB be applicable with this deal?

        • +1

No reason not to try even if it fails at a later stage.

  • I think I will use one of my accounts to take advantage of this offer. I wouldn’t really need it more than once.

  • Didn't get the email but it was under my offers under my ebay plus tab.

Now to find something i actually need.

  • Got one. Noice.

  • +1

I actually applied for $40 SB cash back offer on 13th of Oct, then one day later I got the email from eBay about $80 voucher, I accepted the offer and I contacted eBay Australia and see if they can do anything about it, they said they will get back to me see what is the best way to do it, they said I might need to cancel the membership and reapply for it, or do nothing and get $80 voucher after 21st of Nov.

They got back to me today and confirmed that I don’t have to cancel and reapply, I will get the voucher after 21st of Nov, and SB just tracked $40 cash back offer as well.. So wait and see what will happen after, it’s more like spend $49 and get $120 back…

    • most likely your cashback hasn't been confirmed yet and might get rejected, but still worth a try!

      • +1

Can confirm that I got $40 cash back from ShopBack today. Plus $80 dollars voucher I received earlier, it’s $71 profit.

        • +1

That's awesome! Congrats! Will try it next time i need to renew my membership

  • +2

Just Remember you have to cancel plus membership before it renews again in 12 months ,
and it automatically charges you another $49.
It seems I'm stating the obvious but,

It would be better to wait until after you get the voucher, as I've had to chase them for a $20 voucher recently because I had cancelled the auto-renewal,

and they had decided that meant I was no longer an active member of their exclusive plus club ,
even though I had just signed up.

    • +2

Highly recommend screenshot/keeping email confirmation of cancellation too.
They kept charging my second account despite cancellation and they wouldn't refund (they said I need to prove I cancelled), needed to dispute through bank in the end

      • +1

I got an email the last time i cancelled the subscription

  • I just got the ebay’s email aka offer.. check your mailbox (s)

    • Do you know roughly how long it took between signup and getting the email? I signed up yesterday and still no email but used the online chat and they confirmed the voucher is on my account and will be available after the 21st Nov.

      • Something is wrong, my payment isn’t processing and could not sign-up.

  • +1

I'm pretty sure eBay overcharged me somehow for my eBay plus.
I signed up and paid via PayPal, and had $11.48 in my PayPal, yet the remainder I was charged on my card was $38.65. this totals $50.13.

It's as if they added on a fee for the card payment or something… My PayPal shows $49 total but this is the only transaction I have around that time period from eBay, and it's on the same day.

And then finally for whatever reason my email confirming my membership payment method notes my eBay-linked bank account, which isn't in any way associated with my chosen payment method.

Ugh, so frustrating. Not sure if it's even worth be trying to contact eBay… Might PayPal dispute.

    • +1

Yes, it is processed overseas, under the seller "eBay Marketplaces GmbH".

    • +1

As far as I know, ur bank account is the backup. They should charge ur card/paypal first if u specify them in ur seller’s payment method. When it failed though, they’ll charge the bank account we use to receive payment (happened to me before, my card unexpectedly declined the charge, so ebay charge my linked bank acc)

      • +3

You can pay by the Coles Prepaid MC (on sale soon) by adding it to PayPal and set it as the only possible funding source. As I said above, I was charged int'l fee on it last year when the card issuer was still Indue.

I'll be doing it in the same way this time. The discount on it is greater than the int'l fee.

    • Been mentioned multiple times here in comments, Paying with paypal you would incur overseas transaction fee

      • +1

Really? Mine shows $49 Paypal on the Amex statement
