Refund probably won't even be necessary. Dell only charges your card after they have shipped the item or about to ship. Which is unlikely in this case

@ProjectZero: Looks like you don’t understand basic supply and demand. Very limited supply, very large price increase. Peak oil was a lie, we’ll never completely run out, it may just get more expensive to extract.
@Meconium: Pretty much this. And if the price ever gets high enough it'll make other methods feasible, like turning plastics back into oil/oil from other sources. There'll always be another barrel hanging around.

This point I think is lost on a lot of people. Its pretty much the same with coal, there is always more (at this stage) but you've gotta keep going deeper. Theoretically it is a finite resource but if we've used it up we've probably got bigger problems. I can see oil being used for plastics in the long run, but based on a quick search only 2.8% of crude oil is used outside of fuel (aka directly burning it), so if that lowers we should be able to get by for a long while.
@Meconium: I understand that but surely there is overlap with stupid people and rich people so once the oil gets stupid expensive, pretty sure there will still be people buying/using oil.
