                • @Trysaeder: I clicked on the $20 link (I had the $80 offer but hadn't activated it yet as I was still considering whether or not to use it).

I appeared to be eligible for the $20 voucher, and accidently ended up signing up (through PayPal).

I was issued the $20 voucher immediately, but I assume I won't get the $80.

I really have no need for Plus, I haven't bought anything off there in months.

I have spent the last 30 mins with their online chat trying to cancel and get a refund, but they won't refund me.

They keep going on about the benefits, even though I keep telling them they are not of any benefit to me.

I'll try and talk to someone in Australia about it on Monday.

So be very careful about signing up.

                  Not happy Jan

                  • @lina23: Hey guys - how long does it normally take to get a copy of the online chat transcript from Ebay? I've been waiting nearly an hour and it still hasn't arrived (and yes, I've checked the Spam folder). Meanwhile the "How Did We Go" survey arrived 30 mins ago.

  • 😢 Not eligible.

  • Looks like no min. spend

    • +7

there's never a min. spend for this type of voucher. it's a single-used voucher though, u forfeit the remaining amount if u don't use them all

      • Ok thanks

      • +2

This completely (profanity) me over last time. I had a voucher for $40 that I used like some retard on a $10 order thinking that I'll still have $30 left.

  • Would this voucher stack with other eBay plus codes in the future? Or does eBay still only do 1 code per checkout?

    • +1

Only 1 voucher/code per checkout, but you can stack with gift cards.

      • So I wouldn't be able to use this credit on a similar deal to this:

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/729773

Because it required the "PLUSGAME1" code?

        • No it won't stack with a code like PLUSGAME1

          • @CodeXD: Ok thanks! Might give it a miss then, I don't see many eBay deals I'm interested in that are code-less :(

            • +3

@Kugz: But you are only paying $49 for the $80 voucher. So anything you buy*, even at full price for $80 you would only have paid $49.

              • Within T&C

Plus, the deal you linked is for eBay plus only, so you still need a membership to take advantage of those deals in the future. This will also get you 12 months of membership.

  • Is this related to seller stuff?
I'm not really a seller. Can I still get $80 voucher?

    • +2

Has nothing to do with selling, so yeah you'll get the voucher if eligible.

      • +1

..but you will be able to access the free selling offers for eBay plus members, so thats a bonus

    • +1

The button label Start selling must be a mistake so ignore

  • Damn. I thought I did good with the $50 + $20 voucher.

    • It is always getting better unless sold-out.

Maybe SB cashback on top of it later.

  • +2

is there minimum spend to the voucher?

  • Voucher issue. If you satisfy the Conditions set out in clause 4 above, the Voucher will be issued to Your eBay.com.au account within 10 days of successful payment of your annual eBay Plus membership, starting from 21 November 2022.

is it 10 days after payment or 21 Nov?

    • Yeah it's really not clear :P

    • +2

I have just contacted ebay and was told the voucher will be issued from 21 Nov.
Dealing with Ebay is always unclear.
They can not email me or ebay msg me for confirming I have accepted this offer.
      Hope this helps

      • Exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!

  • +47

    Great deal.

Most people know this, but just in case a few cautionary warnings about your $80 voucher.

    1. It's a voucher not a gift card. Buy a $5 item with it, you lose $75 in value. eBay's system will entice you to use it on every item you look at, even items of only a few dollars. Example;. "Get this item for $0.00 use code xxxxxxxx"

    2. Use the code with only reputable sellers. If your seller cancels the transaction your voucher evaporates into thin air. Yes you can contact eBay and beg for it to be reissued but more often then not they will refuse.

    • Thank you!

I am eligible, now I don't want it.

    • +1

Just adding this in case it's relevant to anyone: I used the voucher to place an $80 order (book from Angus and Robertson) and the seller cancelled the transaction because the book was out of stock. Ebay refunded the voucher automatically with no problems. I just have a new voucher code.

      • +1

Thanks for sharing. That's a good outcome. It's hasn't always been the case, and I still wouldn't tempt fate by using the voucher on a questionable seller/product!

  • Have received this email…but reading the ‘conditions’ above….

May asses my needs ….maybe yes or no

    • +1

      You need donkeys?

      • +1

His multiple asses suit his needs?

  • I just signed up (again). Did not get 30 days trial as expected. Received an instant $20 voucher. Have not seen an $80 one come through yet.

    • +3

the Voucher will be issued to Your eBay.com.au account within 10 days of successful payment of your annual eBay Plus membership, starting from 21 November 2022

      • Ahhh thanks!

      • So will he get both $20 and $80?

        • If they clicked on the sign-up link and is eligible, yes, should receive $80 too.

        • I received 20 immediately. Not sure about 80 as I have already had the trail…

    • where to get the extra $20?

      • +2

Long running promo via banner. This campaign is opt-in - once opt in - all that is required is payment. To take advantage of banner promotions you payment much be completed via an allocated session which is activated via clicking on the banner and proceeding with payment.

        • i do not have this banner under my ebay, is it targeted?

  • +1

Got the offer but not sure I will take it up. Rarely buy anything expensive from Ebay and thje voucher expires at the end of this year.

    • Same here. Unfortunately its of no value to me as I can't think of anything I want to buy,

      • +2

once u signed up, u will magically find something (or even more). that's the catch actually :)

    • +9

Super Cheap Auto, Big W, Chemist Warehouse and Bing Lee are do to places.

      • Yep I better bulk buy Condoms from Chemist Warehouse with the $80

        • +3

Nice prank dude, no one here needs $80 worth of condoms

  • Thanks! Was targeted. Will get my $ worth at some point.

  • +1

Well don't really care much for eBay plus. The odd deal makes me wish I had it but usually not enough to sign up. This put me over the edge. So i expect all the deals for eBay plus members that previously tempted me to dry up now

  • +3

First time in my life I've been targeted! There is a God after all.

  • +2

Didn't get the offer in email or on my account.

HOWEVER I did click the link on one of the first comments here, and it gave it to me.

Purchased the yearly, and it confirmed I'll get voucher within 10 days appear in my account.

I've never had eBay plus before.

I was a bit concerned where on the "congratulations" page after clicking the link, it has a bit about being a seller, and having to abide by some seller rules to get the promotion. That's weird.

Anyway, worked for me. Even if you don't get the email, try the link!

    • When I did it there was no mention of the $80 voucher. I received a $20 voucher instantly. Did you get that? You can also see it at the top of the "My Ebay" page.

    • +3

Just an update, my payment was declined a couple times cos PayPal issues so I used credit card but went through the $20 voucher link OP posted.

All worked, as far as I know I'll get the $20 and the $80. The $80 offer doesn't say anywhere that can't be used with other offers, just says 1. Click the link and get accepted for the offer, 2. Purchase a eBay plus annual sub.

Also, t&C for $20 offer don't mention anything either, so should be able to double dip

      • Hoping to double dip too

      • where to get the $20? link please

  • It says: "Sign up to an eBay Plus membership now. Complete your 30 day free trial and pay the membership fee."
I've already done a free trial. Do I still get the voucher if I pay for the membership fee straightaway?

    • Same here, it said expect voucher in 10 days when I did it. Assuming that's cos we already had done free trial. Others are seeing November 21 I think, probably cos 30 day free trial or something

      • The offer ends on my 20th Nov, that could be why they say 21st Nov.

        • Oh I see it's actually that the vouchers will be available within 10 days of purchase, but will be distributed from 21nov

  • Received on two accounts ended plus back in July.

    • Got it on one only.

  • I signed up using the link here successfully "Congratulations, you’ve successfully accepted this offer." and when on eBay chat to confirm.

eBay chat mentioned "This offer is only available to the select users who receive an email communication that contains the offer (“Eligible Users” or "you")."

They are saying I am not eligible as I did not receive the email even though I signed up and that only emailed users will be eligible. Any thoughts?

    • Eligibility. This offer is only available to the select users who receive an email communication that contains the offer (“Eligible Users” or "you"). To successfully sign up to the offer, Eligible Users must:

      accept the offer by clicking on the 'Accept offer' button shown in the email communication OR "onsite marketing homepage banner on eBay.com.au";

    • That would suck.. I did not receive any ebay email reg the promo but I clicked above link and it said offer activated, then after many minutes I have banner showing the same offer, so I clicked on the banner and said you already activated the offer.
I paid $49 as already used the free trial, received 2 email from ebay about joining plus, but no mention about the $80 voucher nor showing under Myebay page.
So not sure what is happening?

      • The same happened to me.

The $80 voucher will start circulating on 21 November 2022.

        • Thanks, I hope so as some reporting the voucher shows under MyEbay as well as in the email received after joining..

    • It's not just email, I got the promotion pop up in eBay on my mobile chrome browser.

  • +1

Also looks like Shopback cashback for $40 ended as well, back to $15

    • that's still pretty good to get another 15$ back. Can you stack that with this deal?

    • Thanks for reminding me about that to not miss out $15 from there too

      • Will be interesting to see if that pays out. No coupon being used so technically shouldn't be an issue unless there was something in the fine print.

        • yes, no harm trying :)

          • @lufee: Do we just click through ShopBack before clicking the accept $80 eBay plus? To try get the $15…

            • @3liminate: Well, I activated $80 before opening up new Shopback Ebay Plus window

          • +1

@lufee: The cashback on membership doesn't look to be showing in the cashback rates on Shopback anymore, so they have likely removed during this promotion.

EDIT: Found this in the notes:

            • Cashback Not Eligible for Charity and non-profit items, eBay Plus membership & Travel
            • +1

@fookos: their notes are always messed up,

Not long ago they had in notes saying MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP NOT ELIGIBLE ,

while at same time they had MONTHLY MEMBERSHIPS @ $5 in Cashback Rates table

            • @fookos: Sounds like you're looking at eBay Official Store. It's listed as a seperate merchant called eBay Plus.

      • Will this stack though? I'm scared if I signed up through Shopback and only get the $15 instead of both >.<

        • +1

My guess is SB CB may decline, but eBay voucher should not.

eBay voucher doesn't state it cannot be used with a CB offer.

But SB can put terms restricting such stacking

          ALSO KEEP IN mind

**VOUCHERS WILL BE SENT FROM 21 NOVEMBER **
So a long time till then

    • how to get the shopback $15?

  • You've accepted the offer "Get a $80 voucher with eBay Plus" Thanks OP

  • Dang, didn't get it

Edit: But shows me on the ebay prime page

  • +2

Got the email. Been waiting for weeks now since I terminated my ebay plus. Patience finally is paying off.

  • My ebay plus explired back in June or July, and i received this offer. Just resigned so hopefully the voucher comes through.

  • Damn I just cancelled mine yesterday :|

  • Anything good to use the $80 on?

    • I'll probably get oil from supercheap or something when they have a sale

  • i cancelled my membership…no use

    • Free $31 worth of voucher upon payment of $49
Doesn't hurt (given you could buy something from eBay that you actually Need)

Easiest thing would be a 12 month Boost mobile deal

  • Thanks OP! I clicked the link @doweyy provided and it said that I "Accepted the offer". I also checked my email if the offer was sent to me and it did.

  • +2

I go to here and click on accept offer button https://www.ebay.com.au/vlp/ebayplus
Scroll down and you will see Score an $80 voucher* with eBay Plus!
Activate this offer & become an annual member. Ltd time only.

    • Thanks. I have 2 accounts. In one I can see that offer but not in the other. It's targeted as mentioned.

  • +2

If you are an existing member, you maybe offered a $30 voucher which you will get when you renew your membership. Just check. I went through the motion of cancelling my membership and I think after a couple of clicks I got an offer for the $30 voucher. But I was told it was not for everyone.

    • Thanks but looks like the voucher will only be sent after renewing the membership, based on the T&C's:

4.The $30 eBay Digital Gift Card will be sent to your registered email address on your eBay account within 10 days of payment of the annual Plus membership fee

6.For the avoidance of doubt, if you click “Keep my benefits and receive a $30 gift card” but do not continue to pay the eBay Plus annual fee, you will not be eligible to receive the eBay Digital Gift Card.

  • +1

I think you are going to need the actual email to successfully argue with eBay when they stuff this up in November. IE just clicking the link here without the email as back up could be risky.
    From the T&C:
"Eligibility. This offer is only available to the select users who receive an email communication that contains the offer"

    • Eligibility;
      accept the offer by clicking on the 'Accept offer' button shown in the email communication OR onsite marketing homepage banner on eBay.com.au;

      • +1

The full text of T&C point three is as follows:

Eligibility. This offer is only available to the select users who receive an email communication that contains the offer (“Eligible Users” or "you").
To successfully sign up to the offer, Eligible Users must:
accept the offer by clicking on the 'Accept offer' button shown in the email communication OR onsite marketing homepage banner on eBay.com.au; and sign up to an annual paid membership for eBay Plus valued at $49 per annum.

There is a very good chance that eBay customer service will interpret the the first part (eligibility) as :
This offer is only available to the select users who receive an email communication that contains the offer
The second part relates to activating the offer and that may be done via the email communication OR onsite marketing homepage banner.

Ebay customer service staff are more than capable of hanging you on clause one (eligibility).
IE you need the email to argue you case if it doesn't work automatically

        • I didn't get email but the link says I have accepted the offer

I will take the risk and see if I can get the $80 Voucher
