Link worked but no email, not gonna risk this and end up having to deal with ebay cs if not honoured.

      Very wise. They are hopeless

    • +3

Click accept, then go to this page on a desktop browser: https://www.ebay.com.au/mys/overview

You'll see a big pane confirming your eligibility. If you are still worried take a screen shot.

    • I screenshoted it, payment is via PayPal, between my bank, PayPal & eBay themselves I would be getting a refund if they didn't honour it.

  • Received the offer email, activated and joined eBay plus.

    Cheers OP

Ok, I already have ebay plus annual membership, just tried to cancel it and they offered a keep going and get eBay plus - $30 ebay Gift Card. Which I agreed to ("Thank You for Choosing eBay Plus - $30 eBay Gift Card"). For those who are already a ebay plus member this might work, tip - used reason for cancelling as other.

    • Yeah, this is an ongoing offer for past couple of years. I do it every time.

  • YAY finally one that is targeted at me

  • I actually don't think this is a good deal and won't be taking it up. The problem with ebay is that you can't use more than one offer on a purchase, so when the next 10% discount comes around you can't stack it with this $80 voucher. Renders it pretty useless for me based on my ebay buying habits of waiting for limited-time discounts.

  • +5

    Just wanna update my experience…

Accepted the offer even though didn't get email. Worked fine. Later saw it pop up on my eBay homepage anyway.

Then clicked on the $20 voucher link OP put in the comments, so doubled dipped successfully.

Asked chat to confirm both, they did, no issues with getting both.

Have $20 immediately, and will get $80 I think November 21 like others.

It shouldn't matter if you click away or sign up to Plus via different links or pages, it's not like cash rewards where you have to click through etc.

If you're accepted, I think you'll 100% get it, cos otherwise it will say "not eligible" when you click OPs link in the post.

Overall $51 total minus the $49 annual fee ..

If you've already done free 30 day trial, it will just start the eBay plus paid sub today.

    • +1

Some users have reported clicking through, seeing the banner, signing up and then confirming with chat and chat saying they're not eligible

Safer just to sign up if you have the email or if an actual banner appears on eBay, not through a link supplied by someone else

      • I did via link and immediately go $20. Hoping for $80 on Nov 21. If not will raise with paypal - got the chat with rep

  • +4

eBay just seems to be a complicated mess to me these days /shrug

  • +7

Remember people. This is not a gift card code it's a one time code, use only on something that's $80 or more from a genuine seller that doesn't cancel orders.

You will get voucher after 21st of November and it's only active until the 31st of December.

    • Does it have to be one $80 item or can I add multiple items to cart totalling $80?

      • +4

You can have multiple items totalling $80. Make sure you do it in 1 transaction as it is a 1 time use code.

      • Only up to 10 items in cart

  • Got this email as well, may finally sign up if I find something to buy, ebay have been offering me $50 voucher to sign up but I have resisted so far.

  • Signed up via the $40 CB offer few days ago. Clicked in the link on the first comment and said that I was able to still claim this offer. Any rep here able to confirm I'm getting the $80?

    • The offer will only be available from 10:00 (AEST) on 14 October 2022

      Unlikely.

  • +2

Hahaha I am finally targeted for something

  • Ta I let my son know about this

    • Thanks for letting us know that you let your son know.

      • but we want to know what did the son say after his dad let him know..

Just talked to CS about stacking the vouchers ($80 + $20)

P.S I received the email for the $80 voucher and accepted the offer. I asked CS if I can also get the $20 voucher through the $20 link and this is their response:

I have checked the details and can confirm that only one promotion can be accepted and applied on an account. Hence you can either get $80 voucher offer or subscribe through $20 offer.

Further to get the $80 you will need to sign up from the email you have received for the $80 voucher. Even we have sent a copy to your eBay messages for the sent offer.

    • Humm..
:"Further to get the $80 you will need to sign up from the email you have received for the $80 voucher. Even we have sent a copy to your eBay messages for the sent offer."

sounds like NO EMAIL -> NO $80 VOUCHER…. the link posted on first comment not actually confirm $80 voucher even it is green.. that link is more like error with messed up some SALE link

I don’t think that’s true. My husband didn’t get the email but it appeared on the main page as a banner if you scroll down. Also the terms and conditions mentioned banner is okay.

Eligibility. This offer is only available to the select users who receive an email communication that contains the offer (“Eligible Users” or "you"). To successfully sign up to the offer, Eligible Users must:
accept the offer by clicking on the 'Accept offer' button shown in the email communication OR onsite marketing homepage banner on eBay.com.au; and

2 months later Im still waiting for my $30 voucher and keep getting told its coming. I know now to just let it expire and patiently wait

    • Wow, that's bad. got the offer, don't know if it's worth the risk if they going to shaft you

  • Thanks OP. Didn't get the offer email but got the offer anyway.

  • +1

can only use the $80 on selected sellers is kind of making me think again. Even "Officeworks" is no longer on eBay

    • +2

I think that’s the exclusions list

  • Does this offer show up anywhere after you’ve accepted? I’ve accepted the offer and trying to find it under any settings but can’t seem to find it

    • It shows up under selling promos, weird I know.

  • +2

A bit out of context But how many people recognized price change of eBay plus annual membership ?

    From $48.99 (before) to $49.00 (now) ?

    • I feel like it's always been $49 but they charge $48.99 for some reason, do they actually charge you $49 now?

      • Yup this time they actually charged $49.00

    • +1

You can get 2 cents back every shop at Coles or Woolworths. Just go to self checkout where cash and cards are accepted. If the amount is $2 for example, just pay $1.98 in partial payment with card or gift card, then hit the cash button to pay 2 cents. It will go to 0$ after that because it will round down!

      • It doesn't work at a card-only machine in Coles.

        • Well just go to a machine which accepts cash, too. My post code 5700 Coles has 2 card/cash checkouts.

  • +3

Just when I though I was done and finished with eBay plus they bring me back in

    • +2

I have one for me and one for my husband. We get lots of vouchers and also half price sendle shipping which makes it worth it.

  • Damn, signed up yesterday with shopback (not even sure if it tracked). grrr

    • same. can we cancel, get refund and sign up again ?

      • I paid annually :( I don't think you can. But it would be great if you prove me wrong.

        • contact eBay support, say you signed up yesterday & received this offer today, ask if you can cancel & resign up or if they will credit you the voucher out of goodwill

          • @RogueWolf: Not a snowball's chance in hell! I've just tried cancelling because I accidently signed-up using your $20 link, and they are refusing to cancel.

            • @lina23: did you activate the $80 offer first? then sign up through the $20 link? if yes im pretty sure you will get both

              • @RogueWolf: Not sure. Don't think so as I wasn't sure if I was going to sign up or not.

  • Just waiting for the ebay is such poor value no point in getting this comments…

  • any idea on how to become targeted

    • +1

Have multiple accounts, one of them would eventually get targeted somehow

  • SO after signing up are you expected to get some sort of confirmation of the $80 voucher? i didnt get anything

    • +1

You just have to wait until next month

    • +1

      Same didn't get anything.

Didn't get an email but I was eligible as per the link on the first comment.

Contacted chat, they asked for a copy of the promo email. Tried a different guy and said I clicked on a banner but no email. He said they'll be sent out 21 Nov as per T&C

  • +2

Is anyone else still seeing the banners and pormotions for the $80 even after they have signed up?

  • +1

I shouldn't let them auto renew my eBay Plus.

    • If you used PayPal you can cancel the automatic payment, so that even if eBay tries to auto-renew it will decline.

  • Can you signup with eBay giftcards?

    • Nope, PayPal or Card only.

      • Ahh .. thanks!

Probably still worthwhile getting one of those $100 cards from Shopback with the 5% off anyhow.

  • Signup and start 30 days free trail. No 49$ charged, this should wait for the day of the free trail ending?

    • Yeah im confused like most on here. I went to https://www.ebay.com.au/mys/overview …………………….. says
Get a $80 voucher with eBay Plus
Congratulations, you’ve successfully accepted this offer. Sign up to an annual eBay Plus membership now, complete your 30 day free trial* and pay the membership fee. I didnt accept anything? Weird. Do I have to do a 30 day trial then sign up for full year to get the $80 ? So confused, otherwise I will just forget this and continue to use amazon!

  • My ebay plus membership ends on the 19th. For some reason it won't let me renew and sign up annually.

    • get in contact with ebay chat

  • I just spoke to ebay customer support on the phone, they said

"only for new accounts that haven't had ebay plus subs before" the rep also said "not sure if 30 day trial counts…"

    • +2

shit, just signed up, but it's really weird as the terms and conditions has that * right after 30 days indicating that the 30 day trial is only for new members. Considering the quality of service provided by ebay, i wouldn't be surprised if you call 10 times and get 10 different answers

    • Why did we get the targeted email? I spoke with the rep, sent him the screenshot of me accepting the offer- he said I will get the $80- I’ve had the subscription before. Also, the conversation is emailed to you as a log- so you have proof documenting the conversation and the reps statement.

      rubbish info from the cs..

      https://pages.ebay.com.au/buyer_coupons/2022/plhevy/?mkevt=1…

Eligibility. This offer is only available to the select users who receive an email communication that contains the offer (“Eligible Users” or "you"). To successfully sign up to the offer, Eligible Users must:

accept the offer by clicking on the 'Accept offer' button shown in the email communication OR onsite marketing homepage banner on eBay.com.au; and

      • +2

        "rubbish info from the cs."
This is normal. They usually make up random BS and act as if it official

    • How did you manage to get them on the phone? I searched everywhere and couldn't find a phone number. They used to have one but they use covid as an excuse not to answer the call. As far as I'm aware they haven't re-instate it back.

  • +6

Ebay customer service is the most useless especially when compared to amazon. disgraceful always get different info depending on the rep you get

  • The rep i talked to said that I’m eligible for the $80 voucher even though I signed up for eBay plus before.

  • Didn't get the promo email but I was eligible as per the link in the comments.

Wondering if I should just try and cancel the membership though, I don't have a good feeling it'll go through next month.

    • Check myebay messages page. The offer should be there too

      • Nope, nothing

        • Then it might be risky to pay for the sub up front

  • +1

Let's all just take CS response with a grain of salt.

The most important thing is that you've received the email about the $80 voucher sign up since this is the evidence if things go south.

    • That's the thing. Not everyone received the promo via email. But the link posted on the comments advised some of those accounts were eligible (but didn't get promo email).

  • +1

No email, but got offer. Previously had free trial, so spoke to chat and they said still eligible for $80 voucher if sign up for annual without free trial.

    Cheers!

  • Waiting till last day before purchasing sub. I figure best this way in case I forget about it and miss the voucher expiry.

  • +1

Eligibility. This offer is only available to the select users who receive an email communication that contains the offer (“Eligible Users” or "you").

Is it wise to attempt the signup if you didn't receive the offer?
For all we know we could be giving eBay $49 for them to turn around and say 'Sorry you weren't eligible as the offer wasn't assigned to your account - Thank you for your support and enjoy eBay Plus!' and I doubt they give a pro-rata refund if you want to cancel.

I did get the offer one one of my accounts and signed up ($31 for free, why not) but I'm a little hesitant trying that on an account that didn't actually receive the offer; even though the link works on other accounts, the link itself seems specific (Based on the URL in the email)

    • Good point, does anyone know about this?

    • Yeah I signed up without the email. Not feeling all too good about it, but I got a csr to confirm I will be getting it, just in case.

      This is what they said
"I can see that your offer is active and the Voucher will be issued to Your eBay.com.au account within 10 days of successful payment of your annual eBay Plus membership"

  • Anyone know how to bring back the $20 banner or have a link? I had both and clicked the 80, can see the $20 anymore

    • +1

      ebay customer service told me

Only one offer will be valid

if activate the $80 voucher offer

you will be getting that only and not the $20 one as it needs to be subscribed using a different link

      • I hope not, i subd using the $20 voucher link after activating the $80 offer.

        • I did exactly same and customer support chat told me I'm getting both. Already got the $20 code straight away, and gotta wait November 21 for $80 one.

I didn't receive any email or eBay message about confirmation for the $80.

Also I never got the email for the offer, but I did get it as a banner on my eBay page.

      • I got told I'm getting both. Already have the $20 one.
