  • Do Bunnings price beat with a a special order? Googling seems to suggest they do, but asking for anyone's personal experience… cheers

Struggling to decide if I should set my house up with these, Nest or Ring cameras. Anyone have any suggestions which is best?

I went with eufy due to no subscription fees. Not sure if nest have a sub fee, but I know Ring do.

I've gone from Arlo to Eufy and strongly recommend Eufy because of their longer battery (6-12 months depending on model) and local storage. Having to charge them less is really handy, and the rest of their features seem to be on par.

FYI this one needs a wired connection for the floodlight to work, unlike the rest of their range.

      • Is the eufy security problems or delete video problems people comment on an issue?

        • if your camera is in fiddling range then yeah. if it's mounted up high out the way it's not ideal but not as large an issue. I don't know many thieves that walk around with 3m extension ladders and spend 5 minutes fiddling with a camera.

they could just kill your power if they were that ballsy

        • What @SubNoize said, though I only found out about the flaw now.

My outdoor cameras have the anti theft protection alarm, so hopefully that would be deterrent enough for anyone trying to move / fidget with it.

Most of the models let you record to a NAS as well, so that'd be another way of safeguarding the footage from deletion.

If this ever happened with mine I'd switch to wired cameras instead.

    • Eufy has consistently the best feedback. No sub fee's but this will come someday.

Pretty sure it applies to this device also but if the unit is reset, all recordings gets deleted. I think if you have the eufy cloud subscription the footage will however remain on the cloud. So for more security, all 3 options are relatively the same as you will need cloud sub to keep your videos for the eufy.

Saying that if you were really after security, you wouldn't be getting wireless cameras to begin with as you do not have 24/7 surveillance so chances are you may miss footage before and after an event.

These wireless stuff are just for the gimmick of having a camera. In that case I would go for the eufy. Just know that if there are any features they say they will release for a particular device in future patches, they won't do it. They will just phase that device out and release a new version of it.

  • I went to bunnings last friday to price beat amazon and they refused due to being "bunnings is being convenient and item can be picked up in store on the same day". I showed the guy I can get free delivery the next day but he was not interested in price beat amazon at all.

  • I have this. Its a decent cam.. but i find that the biggest issue is tracking the subject. It isn't that good. Otherwise other things work as expected.

  • I had the prior version (FHD) and have been very pleased with the product. Love these have local storage and no ongoing subscription needed.

  • Can this be reset by a stranger by holding some buttons, so it wipes all your previous footage?

    • Yes I believe so, but the button is tucked away and requires fiddling to get to. The said stranger would need to have easy access to the device, or bring a ladder.

  • RTSP with continuous recording?
