    Woah this is crazy.

I mean, free shipping from PCCG!?

Has someone kidnapped their price manager?

Their shipping times are widely inconsistent and frustrating. I purchased a power supply earlier this year on Thursday morning with express shipping. It still had not shipped by Friday night. I ping the customer team on Saturday asking for a refund on the postage or to cancel the order. They chose the latter and I haven't used them since.

      • Their preorder ETAs can be off by multiple months too

Lesson learnt for me. By locally or in the same state. Warranty/RMA is a pain in the ass. Good deal if you are in the same state as PCCG.

  • Wow these guys are still around, I remember 15 years ago they were the budget no-name guys that made reputable PSU's. Glad to see they're still kicking.

I remember Super Flower. It is unfortunate that all PSUs currently on the market are out of date due to the impending ATX 3.0 PSUs.

Surely it's not that much difference, it's a power supply

Yeah, mainly only missing the modern standby feature. Most will be fine for a decade unless you've got a fancy GPU with high power draw.

        • 4090 is rumoured to spike at 660w!
Also it'll cost about $399 and be widely available. Just ask anyone here..

New PCIe connectors. Apparently the old connectors cause instability on modern GPUs.

My understanding is it allows for communications with the device sucking power , such as the PSU's capabilities etc. The new Nvidia 40 series cards have extra pins to communicate this info.

  • Damn it. Just bought a HX1000 from Umart.

    • These have been this price for at least a few days…pays to shop around!

Thought this was a cheap crappy brand. Didn't realised it was top tier. I've always used Corsair and Seasonic.

        • +2

The psu market is weird, only a few OEM's and lots of brands selling the same stuff. To be honest, you cant go wrong with Corsair even if you paid a premium… It'll outlive your next couple of pc builds.

  • It's been this price since last year when I first saw it, also had free shipping at the time.

  • Received today.
