    • i received mine about 15 minutes ago, but by the looks of it people have been receiving them as soon as 4 hours ago (likely sooner than that aswell just they havent woken up to see it yet)

      • I got one at 3:33 and another at 7:28, surprised it took them this long to cancel.

        • mmm, doesn't suprise me tbh. These things happen with large mailing lists, and their likely not using outlook to do such a massive bulk email spread.

          i work for a company where our customer mailing list was at about 50k emails…..We had to send something to all customers (not marketing related).

          Took about 12 hours for all emails to go through, if the system did it any quicker it would be recognised as spam or could risk blocking our email address from major email hosts (i.e. gmail)

          • @whitepuma: Conpletely agree on the email batching process, I meant for the general cancellation, from Friday morning to Sunday morning, seems like a no brainer on the price error and should have been sorted Friday.

              @eggaz: ahyeah fair enough….i reckon it took so long because it had to go up the chain in command….and maybe they wanted to dot the i's and cross the t's with different departments (legal, marketing, distribution, customer service) before making their decision.

              Likely they would have taken some time to see what the damage would have been for whichever choice they made before making the final decision.
              supposedly more than 12,000 orders went through. assuming every order place for just 1 (they didn't, some people ordered 50) then that's $30mil RRP in stock…..if i were management i would definitely want to know all the facts for each option available before making a $30mil+ decision.

              maybe they were thinking if the scale was small enough they would honour it?

                @whitepuma: Yeah fair points, plus gotta give them leeway for it being a weekend, particularly if they did run it up the various chains. All things considered the turnaround was within a reasonable timeframe. I think we all knew it was always going to be a mass csncellation.

    Think about ozbargainer @pharcyde… His wife serviced Dell CEO and mujeeb and he didn't even get a monitor after such sacrifice.

  • My order was cancelled at 6:54, was placed last Friday at 8:27.
    FYI. I stopped buying from dell 3 years ago due to an authorised transaction. Dell did refund the money but ignored my complaints. I didn’t follow up since Covid started.
    I only buy dell when crazy deals like this.

      Don't worry about it. I had an order that was lost in transit and Dell sent me a new one, the old order was never cancelled and still showed the item being shipped but never delivered.

      They don't really care about updating the status page for incomplete/cancelled order.
