  • I got one of these when it came up here about 18 months ago to replace and older ALDI one.

    Luv it.

    • What do you find is good to cook in it?

      • +7

I meal prep my meals for the week or so with recipes from here:

        Pressure Luck Cooking << https://pressureluckcooking.com/ >>

I particularly like making a smaller version of the beef stew, but other things include making some pressure cooked Carnitas and broiling them in the oven.

I use the Carnitas as a topper for various food items IE salads, rice or vege dishes that just need a spot of meat with it.

        • Thank you for the link share! That is awesome!

        Soups
        Goulash
        Curries
        Stews
        Steam
        Rice dishes

      • You can sautee in it

It can be a slow cooker

It can be a pressure cooker

It can be a rice cooker

They are pretty versatile. Also fantastic after sales service in Australia. (We had a really good experience W them)

We make chilli, curries, dal, legume dishes, rice, slow cooked meat dishes etc.

  • What's the difference between Amazon and Corelle Brand products? Is there a difference in the product? I went on the official website of instant pot (it shows $140) and it directed me there but the item is out of stock.

      https://www.epicurious.com/expert-advice/instant-pot-buying-…

This might help. You want to look at the various models. They can have different programming and the lid can have different locking mechanisms.

      • I thought they're exactly the same item, as the one in Corelle brands said that it is Duo Nova as well.

        • The Corelle ones can be a mix of models. I’ve seen Duos and Duo Novas at the Corelle place.

      • The programs are a guide only, IMO.

Example, the default soup program is 40 minutes.

        My favourite quick and dirty vegetarian lentil soup;
No pre soaking the lentils. Real time saver
        Soup program > 20 minutes.
Let pot de-pressurise naturally, probably 20 to 30 minutes depending on volume.

        Perfect every time.

    rice, meat, soup, love mine.

Electric pressure cooker was THE thing that stopped me getting takeaway all the time and finally doing proper meal prep. Just such easy one-pot meals that cook super fast, and so much time reclaimed being able to relax or clean while it's cooking (no stirring or watching required).

Bought one of these the last time they were on sale at Amazon. I had been looking for a rice cooker, but I'm very glad I went with this instead.

  • +1

Would be nice if they fulfilled orders of https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/715373 from over a month ago.

    • Lol my thoughts too.
I didn't even click the link but I guess it's the air fryer version for $118?

I also bought a duo nova like this for $128 around the same time. It's okay but limited to soups and wet strews. Anything thicker sticks like crazy / burns and powers down.

  • Would Uncle Gordon be happy how the rice cooks in this?

    • +2

Even Uncle Roger would be happy, I use my pressure cooker to cook rice several times a week and it is as good maybe better than a rice cooker. Plus it can do everything else as well.

      • Ha ha, I meant to put Uncle Roger but my mind was elsewhere. At least I didn't say Jamie Oliver.

  • We’ve found the InstantPot is good for cooking potatoes for mashed potato as well.

  • Thanks for posting this, have been eyeing one for a while!
Any recommendations on accessories/spares? For those with a spare inner bowl, do you find that useful?

    • +1

I would get the glass lid. You can get them from Amazon or the DFO. We use ours when we make Yoghurt.

  • Is this a better one compared to Philip all in one multicooker HD2238/72? I think Instant Pot doesn't come with non stick Pot
