One of the best olive oil in the market and rarely goes on sale.

Yes but for people who don't use too much the 750ml is perfect.
Legendary company. These folks helped me achieve my first world record!
I'm so confused
They sent out some free samplers of olive oil.
My wife is from the south of France and grew up on olive oil. She reckons the ALDI organic brand olive oil is the best available in Australia.
I like Aldi and the imported products they bring, I also think their pricing is fair in so many products compared with woolies and coles. Their (Aldi) olive oil for one I think isn't the best, the taste is too mild even for the full flavoured.
I noticed though you mentioned organic…i have not tried that. Maybe I should and put the taste test. I cook with mostly olive oil and I love it
Yup I just double checked - it's the "just organic" label ALDI olive oil.
No wonder she prefers it; it's Spanish.
@wisdomtooth: That’s not only south of France, but quite a bit west, as well
@tharlow: You do know Spain is at France's southern border, no? They have neighbouring towns. Even major cities, say Barcelona and Montpellier, are 4h30m drive from each other.
@wisdomtooth: Is Spanish just French with a southern accent?
@tharlow: Yes! 😄
I'm with you there. Switched from Cobram to the Aldi Oz brand and it's a lovely virgin olive oil and once again Aldi show up the big two as ripping off consumers with their supposed cheapest everyday prices.
How much is it per litre?
Barbera Frantoia is the GOAT
I like the pourer! Used the bottles for years
- how the F do you get the top off?
- how the F do you clean it all so it doesn't go rancid?
- what are Saturday's lottos numbers?
Yes how can I get the top off to refill?
I ended up using a funnel to get the oil in
You can use a fine tip sauce bottle like this. The fine tip fits within the cobram spout
https://www.webstaurantstore.com/choice-16-oz-red-wide-mouth…I bought it from coles for about $2, but I can't find it on their website
Use a blunt knife between the glass and plastic to prise the top off, less sharp than a circumcision knife. It'll be very tight. Paper towel around the plastic to grip and twist.
Clean??

perfect!
That's really good actually because my usual circumcision knife is pretty blunt at the moment…
These go on half price every couple of months
ABS keeps telling me inflation is mid single digits though…
It used to be $7.50 after half price just 2 years ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/564128
Cost of raw materials have gone up like crazy in the last 2years.
Although Cobram (boundary bend) have the monopoly on EVOO they would still have a profit margin they would like to maintain.Cost of canola has gone up even higher as a majority of Aus made oil has been sold overseas..
Monopoly? I don’t think so.
Thanks OP. This is my family's favourite olive oil. I'll stock up
If you're cooking with EVO then sure use the Aldi one but for salad dressing or drizzling over pasta or whatever the Cobram definitely has more flavor/fragrance than the Aldi. I use Red Island for cooking as it's often half price, and save the Cobram for fresh use.
Same here. Tried Aldi once and was bitter like low quality oil is.
This olive oil is amazing. Never really got the whole olive oil thing until I made some bread and dipped it in this. A lot of flavour, strong lemon smell and taste too.
Lemon should not be there
This is on sale quite regularly. And often half price that is when I buy. Sirena tuna, on the other hand..
Well , From an Olive oil fan , and some one who used to buy from a refinery at first pressed. I would vote the green bottle of Cobram to be the best olive oil by far in Australia. The taste ,colour , thickness , the shiny look is just some thing by far is different from other brands.
The light green or dark green label?
Green
Dark green
which green label, they have a couple…there is the robust one…is that the one you are talking about?
Dark green one .
whats the difference between the green and purple one?
Do you know if they changed their olive oil process? is it still cold pressed? They have a new logo on the bottle. It used to says 100% natural, first cold pressed and cold pressed within 6 hours with fresh olives.
None of that is written on the new bottle. No where does it say cold pressed. I consume 50-70g of olive oil a day and cold pressed is a must. I sometimes get organic but it's 4x the price for a good brand. So do i need to look for a new brand or did they just make a idiotic label change and it's the same product?
Not a deal but might be of some interest -
Cobram is running online tastings courses.
Sign up for small fee ($15), they send you out some samplers to try at home and walk you thru the course. Next one is 20 Sept but have to register soon so they can get your oil out to you.
Not sure why you were downloaded, looks interesting - i'll balance. :)
Wasn't me who downvoted, but most likely because ticket sales for the one on the 20th ended on July 26.
Haha, rough crowd. Thx @Chivalry.
That section isn't laid out in a great way so may be a little confusing. Can definitely still register for upcoming 20 Sept event. I registered last night.
Note: will probably close soon because they need to ship products out. Just look for the "Add to cart" button.

Sorry this is a complete rip off - 10/02/2022 Red island 3lt @ $17.50 which puts it @ $5.83 LT
Same company makes both. Cobram is supposed to be better, but I must be a pleb, can't notice the difference.
Still going through the Red Island stock from that deal.
Love their garlic infused olive oil
Absolutely, as someone who has to be cautious with FODMAPs their garlic and onion infused oils are an absolute dream.
I'm not going to mince words here, the Spanish Olive oils sold in Colesworth are just bulk oils….Cobram is just so much better. The best Olive Oil comes from Greece but it doesn't get exported to us due to the relatively small amount produced.Second best is from Italy. There I said it.
I believe 4 Corners had a report on how the Italian Mafia was lacing "olive oil" with canola, sunflower oils etc…. it was quite interesting.
I would be cautious buying any olive oil from Spain or Italy.
PS: The 3L for $36 @ Woolworths cheaper per litre this week.
