New iPad 16GB Wi-Fi - $497 - Harvey Norman

171

New iPad (iPad 3) 16GB - $497. Nothing else to say.

Cheaper than Kogan ($519 + postage). Oh and since when did they sell Macbook Airs?

Stock wise, my store had maybe 5 left though more on order. If the store near you doesn't have any in stock, you can get it back ordered at that price.

I work there but don't represent the store etc and my thoughts/comments etc are my own.

lol everyone negging him. ONE DOLLAR IS VERY IMPORTANT!!
it's not like Big W is typically easier to access than Harvey Norman or anything.

    • Agreed. Normal price. Not a bargain.

      This belongs in forums.

Harvey is pretty much the antichrist.. but $1 less than Big W? Nice

    • SOMETIMES they have good bargains

  • $499 at Target since release http://www.target.com.au/ipad/

Bugger off mate - go beat one off to an android tablet elsewhere. This is a bargain forum only, starting a trollwar doesnt accomplish anything. Let people make up their own minds about which product to buy, and appreciate that each have their own merits.

thats exactly what a MAC user would say.
hides under bridge and waits for a response

Haha im a PC user and I dont own a tablet (though I do use an iPhone). Im just sick of the fandroids, lately they're getting worse than the iSheep. Why cant we all get along and appreciate that different people enjoy different products, rather than impose our own opinions on the world and scorn those that disagree?

        • Because then this wouldnt be the internet.

I'll just wait for "The Newest Ipad 4"

    • +4

You mean the 'New new ipad' they can't call it iPad 4 as there was no iPad 3 ;)

      • You mean the 'New new ipad'

Nope, they are calling it the "Newer iPad"

    • Any leak about the new iPad 4 release date? I think they will launch 7" iPad 1st.

      • Yeah that's right, they're doing a 7" version next. I haven't heard much of the ipad after that though.

        • +1

You don't know for sure they are doing a 7", you are just guessing

  • +3

Not really a bargain, but it is the cheapest option so if you're planning on buying a 16GB wifi model then atleast your have another option if you local bigW is out of stock or is further than your local HN.

not a bargain. standard pricing. $1 difference is just to prevent price matching.

    • Prevent price matching? We don't do guaranteed price beat like Officeworks. It may be so that a staff member doesn't have to check with their manager to take the price down by a $ or 2. That just makes logical sense to me :)

  • +3

Its a bargain if it is the cheapest.

    • -3

      No its not

  • +2

Not gonna neg this, but really not a deal worth posting.

If you go to the good guys, they will simply offer you $487 straight away. Not to mention the gift cards that some of us still have from the post office deal.

  • It is a good deal if big w run out for example

  • +6

TBH I had no idea that Big W and Target was doing it for these prices. If I'd known I wouldn't have posted it. In saying that it is still cheaper, so I don't think it's neg worthy. Not worthy of front page or anything though.

Anyone have any idea how Kogan is able to sell iPads if you can get ir fo so much cheaper at a normal department store?

    • +9

They're probably relying on their good name and superior customer service…

      • :L

  • I prefer to buy at BigW to get Flybuys points

    • +4

lol… if you buy 50 iPads, you just might get a "free" flight to Sydney…

      • +2

after paying the taxes and fees out of pocket.

    • +1

      Flybuys points at target

      • +2

yeah, sorry i meant everyday reward points

  • +2

HN has realised it HAS to offer a bargain price to survive in todays age. BigW and Target were indeed offering sub 500 price for this product since the launch date.

  • If I buy an iPad from Big W or Harvey Norman, can I ask the "geniuses" at the apple store to fix my iPad if it breaks?

    • +2

      Yes of course you can!

    • +1

      Yes

  • If you live near fountain gate you can use your $10 westfield gc (groupon) or $30 gc (Amex promotion) . I still have 2x $30 gc from the last Amex promotion.

    • good idea but 0.2% is too low

    • People on ozbargain are more informed (value wise) than general public.

Is any one interested in a black New iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular? I am in Brisbane and would like to sell a sealed brand new one with receipt for $700. Original price is $789 dollars. PM me if anyone is interested. You can still claim the GST back if you travel overseas within a month.

  • $497~ at least it's good to see HN jumping onto the sub-500 boat.
