This printer deal was popular not long ago. I however bought Brother MFC colour laser with WIFI for $330.

    • Which Bother MFC did you get? Was it the MFC-L2750DW?

Edit: Ah sorry, I see you said Colour MFC. Which model was that for $330? Got a link by chance?

    • Brother probably has much cheaper 3rd party toner cartridges.

But this is ok, with $165/set. https://www.tonerstop.com.au/bundled-set-of-4-compatible-ton…

Best to factor at least one set of toners into the purchase price, as the printer comes only half-filled.

    • Okay? That is over double the price.

      • +1

$330-$189=$141. You get colour laser Printer, WIFI, Scanner, fax and tonners are 1/2 price of the Kayocera. I needed the scanner and required the WIFI as my router is far from the printer. Extra $140 and cheaper tonners when required is much better deal for my case. If you have a MFC colour laser printer deal with all these features please let us know. OKAY !!

  • Noob question, can you print through wifi on this?

    • No wifi for this model.

    • -4

Very noob, but thats OK. Wifi is just a way of connecting to the network. The printer or web-server at the other end cannot tell if you used wifi or not.

    • +10

It has an ethernet port. Put it near the Wifi router. Connect it to the router using an ethernet cable. You should now be able to print over wifi from any computer/laptop in the house. It's just that printer has to be connected to the house network using an ethernet cable.

      • Alternatively you can setup a Wi-Fi bridge device and connect it to the network wireless via the Ethernet port.

        • Wi-Fi bridge device

Can you recommend one? I'm thinking of getting one for my OG Xbox.

          • @idonotknowwhy: I've used this one when i'm stuck without a wifi adapter (or the computer doesn't support it)
            https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32963618725.html
They have a bunch of other versions too, including a 5g one. You might be able to find it on eBay if you prefer that.
I've only ever used it for temporary connections but it's been reliable for me, never any trouble re-connecting to the last remembered network.

          • @idonotknowwhy: Any router that can install pure OpenWRT/DD-WRT/Tomato is just about guaranteed to support WDS which is used for bridging.

    • Yes - you'll need to connect the printer to your router with an Ethernet cable, and then any of your devices can print to it via WiFi 👍

The printer itself doesn't need WiFi, but it does need to connect to your router (with the Ethernet cable).

  • Great value colour laser printer this is. It's a no-brainer for sure. nuff said.

  • +1

Op, do you have multi-function laser printer that can scan?

    • -3

Have you tried using your phone lately? An app, or Android has built-in ability.

  • +5

Other states can get it for similar price $189 delivered here.

  • Don't forget to keep your box and packaging for the length of the warranty period.

Note - It maybe too heavy to send being 30kg.

  • +2

$90 delivery :( Awesome deal otherwise

    • budget couriers like Aramex can't do such heavy units. unfortunately

      • +4

        pussies

        • +1

Are you sure you'd want Aramex to handle your printer? It would probably come damaged, or missing at their warehouse.

  • +1

The Brother colour laser for $300 is a better deal IMHO.

    WIFI and AirPrint, etc.

Also has a higher resolution and cheap third-party toner.

    • +1

It maybe if you volume print… I am just printing incidentals and school assignments. Rather have the cheaper upfront cost… and use the toner mentioned above. So far it looks like it will be two years before I use the toner that came with it.

    • It's also never in stock.

    • Depend on your use case. I do have cables everywhere and actually prefer a wired connection to the printer. I am sure that this printer actually does have AirPrint.
I print very occasionally, so the cost (someone mentioned here $90 for a set) is not as critical. 4 cents per colour page is something I am more than willing to pay.
I will probably never print as much to cover the price gap between the two printers.

      • True if you never scan documents…

      • Since I got the printer from the last deal… I printed one page so far and that was for a school thing. So two pages printed the test page and that school one. Will be a while before the toner runs out.

If we had home schooling… it maybe a different story but I would use the black and white laser that I still have to print those ones out.

    • doesit have higher resolution?
brother is 2400x600 whereas this is 1200x1200?
which would print better color images (for schoolwork etc)?

it also says this on the datasheet?
"Resolution: 1,200 x 1,200 dpi print at reduced speed, multibit
technology for print quality of up to 9,600 x 600 dpi (print),
      600 x 600 dp"

but yeah in reality i have no idea which actually prints nicer color images

  • Color Laser or Ecotank by Epson ???

    • +1

Laser if you don’t do a lot printing… last time I had inkjets the ink dried out.

      • -1

InkJet and EcoTank are different things.

    • +1

Depends on your use, as mentioned, inkjet dries out if not used frequently, but apparently inkjet is better if you print photos.

      • -2

InkJet and EcoTank are different things.

        • +1

yes different but both use ink. If you bothered to google you find out the following:
Does Epson EcoTank dry out? Yes, it still dries up when left unused. The EcoTank is still an inkjet printer so it's still susceptible to ink drying up leading to clogged tubes or cartridge nozzles

  • Damn, great deal but i want the Brother MFC L3745CDW

    • They are very hard to get, stock very limited and don't last long. If you are in Sydney, stock just showed up in Bankstown store.

      • that's annoying you can order it on TGG but not on TGG commercial

        • I am not sure how it works with TGG com, but when I called them they asked me to email my details and item number, then they sent me quote valid for 30 days and in email they said reply back to confirm acceptance.
But after couple of weeks of checking stock on TGG I found one available in Auburn store, so I logged back in TGG com. and purchased from there for collection. However the printer was at loading dock of TGG and storeman could not find the printers handy as initially said no stock available. It took like 30-40min till it is been sorted out.

  • OOS

    • We added 4 more stock after the final stock take

      • Do you still have this in stock?
