$1237.54 after Cashrewards 14% cashback is a great price for a 2-in-1 with 3 years on-site warranty with digital stylus included in the package (Dell charges), very bright HDR 500-nit 100% sRGB 1080p screen, Dolby atmos decent sounding speakers and great battery life

I bought this for $1519.20 from the last eBay sale in the past 2 weeks and received it last week so even at $1439 I think it's a good price

I quoted Lenovo the current deal and luckily they refunded me on eBay down to $1237 which is great can't complain!

    8gb ram? Boo!!!

    • -1

Enough for Windows light 2-in-1 use

60Hz screen isn't going to be much use for gaming :)

      • -1

        8gb is just passable.

        • Fast nvme SSD would take off most of the paging issues

I think it’s enough for what a reasonably lightweight 2-in-1 is used for

Perhaps not autocad but I’ve got a Legion 15” with dedicated graphics for that

Not a good deal considering what has been available in the last month from Lenovo for a
    2 in 1 with a 90hz OLED, 16gb RAM and a Ryzen 6000 CPU.

    • Hey bro,

Do you know if there are going to be any deals on the Ideapad Slim 5 pro? I wanted to get the old one with 5800H and RTX 3050 but now that is discontinued. Apparently a new one is coming out with the 6800HS and RTX 3050 but no price or time yet?

      • Not aware of anything yet

    • yeah. Paying a premium for the slower intel with less ram.

    • That’s a 14”

      Got a 15” or 16” deal?

      • If you have access to an edu email, you can get a 2in1 Flex with a Ryzen 5500u, 16gb Ram and a 16" QHD 400 nits touch for $1254 from their education portal.

Sounds interesting is that all plastic?

          What is the weight?

          • @s3n: It's mainly aluminium. Weight is 2.1kg for the 16" due to the full glass QHD touch screen.

            • @shellshocked: Plastic base and lower spec battery too not great for a portable

              • @s3n: More power efficient AMD Ryzen Hexa-core core CPU at 15w TDP, compared to the 28w+ TDP of the 11th gen quad-core i5 1135G7. You going to need that 71wh battery to compensate for that higher TDP compared to the AMD based laptop.

        • You can get an R7-5700U Flex for around that price. This comes on special quite abit, but it will be a heavier laptop, due to glass touchscreen and its size

          • @Froot Loops: The whole base is plastic though

I've been there done that with the Dell Latitude and Precision series and I'm not doing that again for a portable laptop

For a gaming laptop that doesn't travel much maybe

            • @s3n: I have the 14" version and it is pretty rigid as the screen is glass and many laptops still use plastic. I cannot really fault the design and I'm gathering this laptop will be similar. You also get a few perks, like 16GB. Also, the thing I would consider is the weight of the yoga's as they have metal chassis and metals plates and the laptop already weights enough for most in its plastic (flex) form. I'll also note this series has been popular on ozbargain and whiles some people experienced some issues, I didn't read one about the chassis, but there were a few comments about the weight.

If this was 16GB I might pull the trigger (I want to go back to intel), but I know myself I will get the s*its carrying this thing around campus / work

              • @Froot Loops: Thanks I do appreciate the comments

As for me I probably would have gone with the Flex with the better screen if I knew about it since I churn through laptops pretty quick but this was for a family member who's broken a couple of flimsy plastic Dells already and it needs to last at least 3 years so the warranty plus build plus 15" screen plus battery life got me over the line

The Flex seems to have 2 years and I didn't have access to the education deals but if I did for the particular purchase I probably still would have gone the Yoga (even at $1500!)

If you're not in a rush there are probably better deals coming but this wasn't a bad purchase and they are enjoying the screen and sound quality for music videos

    • You reckon it will come down to this Price again soon ?

  • Do you know how long the battery last? Need one that last 8h or more.

    • They are designed to be all day as these are aimed towards the upper student market. Tom's hardware reports 12H36M.

What they do to test battery: "Our battery life benchmark continually browses the web, streams video and runs OpenGL tests over Wi-Fi at 150 nits of brightness, to attempt to simulate an average user’s typical use cases".

      • The review you posted is of the 14" version not the 15" like this deal. Battery life between screen sizes can be significant. Also Tom's only measures at 150 nits brightness on the 14" version which is not realistic. Tom's also doesn't say what they have set the TDP to in their test.

  • Hey OP, how did you contact Lenovo regarding the refund/credit of the difference?
I'm in a similar situation where Lenovo's sales chat person has no Idea and says no affiliation with Lenovo Ebay.
    Thanks

I quoted Lenovo the current deal and luckily they refunded me on eBay down to $1237

    • I had the same issue with Lenovo direct who told me eBay was a reseller. So I messaged Lenovo eBay from the item but they didn’t get back to me very quickly so then I spoke with eBay support who told me to raise a refund claim for the item and that would stop them getting paid and they would help me out if I had an issue. Luckily I didn’t since Lenovo came back authorising a partial eBay refund straight away via my first message and I had to cancel my second refund claim before I could get a refund for 281.66. That was a mouthful

      • haha thanks for the detailed reply and process! I'll message them on eBay and go from there.
