LIGHTWEIGHT - Each pole weighs only 275g, helping you go further on long hikes. Made using 7075 aluminium (most commonly used in aircraft and aerospace applications), these poles are seriously light considering their strength. Beware of inferior 6061 alloy poles.

TOUGH - 7075 aluminium is better than carbon fiber at withstanding pressure, impacts and cold temperatures, which is important if you rely on your poles for balance and when in rough terrain. Trek Motion poles also feature tungsten carbide tips and a superior build quality.

QUICK LOCK EXTENSION & ADJUSTMENT - Quickly extend or collapse these poles with the flick of a handle, thanks to the flip lock mechanism. Easily adjust tightness of each lock so that you never have to worry about poles slipping down. Handy height markers make it easy to get your perfect length each time and make adjustments for slopes on the run.

COMFORTABLE - These poles telescope from 62 cm up to 135 cm, catering for people of all heights. They also feature ribbed cork handles for superior grip and adjustable padded straps so you can remain comfortable on longer expeditions. Included are rubber tips, mud baskets and snow baskets.

COMPACT - Trek Motion poles collapse down to 62 cm long, or can be easily pulled apart to go down to 53 cm, allowing them to fit into smaller bags. Ultra-light carry bag included.

This doesn't appear to be a bargain. Similar product cheaper here -

TheFitLife Nordic Walking Trekking Poles $26.06

They are both 7 series aluminium & the same weight.

    • +1

These ones have a cork grip and flip lock, both features are improved over the rubber grip and twist lock of the ones you linked.

      • -3

They are hiking sticks, not kidney dialysis machines. Essentially, you could go out walking and pick up two sticks off the ground for free that would do the same job as either of these.

        • They wouldn't do the same job though. They'd be heavier, non adjustable, less comfortable, and have less grip?

          • +1

@dankl: Sticks are adjustable. And renewable, and can also be used to light a fire. I should know, I own a walking stick farm.

As WatchNerd pointed out, more than 10% cheaper via another Amazon seller.

    • -2

The cheaper poles are a different product.

      • +3

They're both low end, budget products. If you must buy this junk, at least don't spend a cent more than is necessary.

        • -1

The cheaper poles are junk. The poles posted in OP are poles that would suit someone looking for a cheap pair that will work well.

          • +1

@dankl: Best poles are from Wroclaw & Katowice, cheap, good food & charming people.

      LOL winner!

  • Does airlines allow for these to be carried on board? Disassembled maybe?

  • Kmart' s $9.5 each one would do same job.

I used them to complete three nights and four days Wilsons Prom hiking trip(I bought at $8.50 years ago)
