The cheaper poles are junk. The poles posted in OP are poles that would suit someone looking for a cheap pair that will work well.

They wouldn't do the same job though. They'd be heavier, non adjustable, less comfortable, and have less grip?

These ones have a cork grip and flip lock, both features are improved over the rubber grip and twist lock of the ones you linked.
