  Yamazaki was good before the hype when they were $450 a bottle it was outstanding value. At $1,500 they suck ass.

  Get a bottle of Sullivan's Cove instead.

  Japanese whiskies boomed in price about 7 years ago.

  I bought a 12 year old pure malt Taketsuru from Dan Murphys for $99 in 2015. Cheapest in stock price today is $600. Is it now 6 times better? Nope.

  I think I'll send it off to auction and enjoy at least a 4x return on my money. Too expensive to drink.

    I actually regret opening and drinking my hibiki 21 year old, purchased a decade ago while in Japan, I enjoy it but at today's stupid prices I would happily onsell it for a 10 fold increase in what I paid.

  I have an unopened bottle of hibiki 12.
  Not sure if I should sell it or break the seal on it. Still in box. What's the thaughts? I see the cheapest on ebay is $1k for a 500ml and I have the 700ml.
