K'gari Coast Botanical Vodka 1000ml

Queenslander Botanical Vodka 1000ml

Tropical Lemonade Botanical Vodka 1000ml

delivery is $12.

They use sendle. my delivery from Brisbane CBD to North Brisbane took ~6 business days.

they also sell Gin in 500ml bottles this becomes $32.16 per bottle when buying 3 bottles or more.
and rum in 750ml bottles is $36.77 per bottle when buying 3 bottles or more.

if you add 5 bottles of any spirit then delivery becomes free……so save $12 by buying more alcohol.

I previously ordered the Queenslander Botanical Vodka which was nice. sort of vodka with herbal taste (like a vodka jagermiester ?) also ordered 2 bottles of rum which i havent opened.

The bottles they come in look decent so would make a relatively inexpensive but expensive looking gift. boutique booze.

  • Has anyone tried this?
How many times has it been distilled?

    • Tried the lemonade and mango one, definitely not my taste with soda water and lemonade.. was a struggle to drink, yet to try the pineapple one. Will probably only be used for cocktails at my house

      • Thank you for your service

    • Yep, ive been purchasing from them since they were under the brisbane distillery brand(banned on OzBargain).

Great drop for good prices, they avoid the high price tag by some sort of federal gov distillery tax scheme.

The gin is by far their best work.

Edit: these are great gifts if you live in Brissy and have visitors from outer state, as they have a boujee bottle and label

I've tried the K'gari and Queenslander vodkas, a couple of the gins, and the pineapple rum.

The K'gari is pretty rough going down and not as nice as it sounds - it's got a very bitey vodka taste to it, even Smirnoff goes down smoother.

Queenslander actually tastes much better, but I think that's because the myrtle does a very good job of masking that cheap vodka bite.

All three of the Walter Hill gins taste nice to me - the gin content itself is nothing special and once again a wee bit bitey, but the actual flavours are pretty well done and work nicely in my G+Ts.

The pineapple rum is nothing special either - tastes pretty cheap and the pineapple flavour is barely there. Can confirm that it does taste a little better than the pretty horrid Brown Snake Rhum which Brisbane Distillery produced a couple years back (before they rebranded to Queensland Distillery). I'm not 100% sure if the old Brown Snake Rhum is the same as the one being sold on their site now, but the old bottle says 43% whereas the new rum says 45%. Hopefully this means they've improved the recipe, but I'm not game enough to find out.

  • What is the "Sendle standard pickup $8.30" option in delivery?

  • 3 bottles = 97 standard drinks for $114 delivered; so that will last me about two sessions. Pretty good value really.

As far as i can tell shipping is 8.30, not $12 - the $12 seems to be the option you are meant to select when you chose 5+ bottles and that permits for free delivery.

The bottles are plastic (at least the last few things I bought from these guys were…)

It's OK alcohol. More a base spirit with additive like home brew. It's cheap as they brew under the threshold for paying high taxes or something to that effect.

    • Is that also the case for the gin bottles being in plastic? That’s a hard no if so.

      • +1

The gin, vodka and rum bottles I bought from these guys about a month ago are definitely glass (at least on the inside) from what I can tell. If not, it's very VERY hard plastic that sounds suspiciously like glass when tapped.

yeah, the 2 bottles of captain morton rum are definitely glass, as is the botanical vodka.

    • +1

That’s what I thought about the lemonade vodka one, tasted like home brew with flavouring. No massive loss at $32/each

    • I received two orders recently and all bottles were glass

  • Botanical Vodka sounds like Gin with extra steps
