Time to retire my 7 year old 2gb unit, methinks.

    • Seems like money well spent!

Is it a 1st gen nano? If it is, send it to Apple and get one of these for FREE!

      http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano_replacement/

Got my one a month ago.

      • dan, i have a 1st gen black nano, is that deal still valid? do you simply send it to apple and they mail you back a brand new 6th gen nano?

        • Follow the instructions on the link. It will ask you for the serial number which will tell you if its eligible for a replacement (basically checks whether or not its a 1st gen nano I think). One thing to note is that the instructions they give you about sending it to them is a bit conflicting. They'll tell you that they're sending you a box for you to send it to the repair centre. But in the email it says to take it to the post office and they'll supply the appropriate packaging. When my box didn't arrive for more than a week, I re-read the email and took it to the post office. I don't think there's an expiry date for product recalls, but in any case the webpage is still there.

I don't know if its actually "brand" new, but it seems brand new, though it doesn't come with the retail package.

        • Hey dan,

my ipod nano 1st gen stopped working. do you think i could still send it to apple and get it replaced?

        • No idea, but it wouldn't hurt to try… its worthless anyway if it doesn't work.

        • Doubt they even test it..

  • I have now sold all my ipods. IMO, ipods are now a dying breed. Nevertheless this is a pretty good deal.

    • Durability has been sacrificed for the sake of styling, My old ipod classic lasted years on end but my ipod touch was only able to last about a year if that is what you mean by a dying breed you're right!

  • Sold out

      phew! i was getting tempted…

  • Don't worry people, you didn't miss out.

This 6th gen iPod nano has a Cirrus DAC (CLI1544C0 to be exact), so you're better off using whatever mp3 player you find on the ground.

Would this be good for the Gym? I have 1gb Sansa clip, which is limiting songs..

    • +1

Can't you put a MicroSD in the Sansa Clip?

  • Is pick up available in Brisbane at all?

  • Did anyone else receive one with non-genuine earphones?
