Was looking for a space heater and found this on AusPost site for less than half the price this is retailing at TGG and HN ($99).
1200 W with three power settings - so should be good enough at its lowest setting ~400 W for heating up a home office desk. Haven't used it so no idea how good/bad it is.

Yeah, you're better of using an electric throw and rugging up a little.

These things are great and so cheap to run
admittedly those are higher risk as you put it on you if it caught on fire.
But that is probably the only downside.@Hornpub: They’ve been around a very long time and I think if fire was a significant risk we’d all know about it long before now.

Just with everyone talking about the cost of heating recently, these resistive heaters are a very expensive way to go. Depending on your area, in the range of 30-50c/hour to run (at 1.2kw).
As op mentioned, they're suitable for heating a small space under a desk, but not a whole room.
