My radius is actually quite large and includes some areas which are a reasonable distance as the crow flies but due to the way the roads run are a loooong drive.
I often avoid those stores because I feel bad for the dashers as they probably already get screwed on the delivery. Should I be worried about this or are they paid per mile/minute? I assume many short trips is better for dashers than a single long trip?
Yeah not sure, website isn't too detailed about it "Dashers in Australia earn $31 per hour while on a delivery, on average." https://dasher.doordash.com/en-au/about/pay
Are you talking about the "extended delivery range"? These are places that you can't normally access except in certain circumstances such as nearest is closed, there's not many restaurants open etc
They definitely get screwed over less than Uber Eats long distance orders but then again that's not saying much.
I noticed this too, for a while I could order from a heap of places 10km away… Today it only shows a handful of restaurants nearby.
Meh, I price checked a few things and they're just as cheap or cheaper in store even with 40% off, especially when you add in the $2 service fee.
Try again Doordash.
Try searching "Coles" and then compare those prices to instore. Plus, if some of the items you order get cancelled, your percentage discount shoots up.
Eta, nevermind, I thought this was for Coles not Coles express.
Oh yeah if this was for Coles/Coles Local for sure, I would've been happy because that's 40% off all meat etc.
Kind of like the past reject shop deal, there's a few worthwhile things but I'd be nowhere near the minimum spend.
Plus, if some of the items you order get cancelled, your percentage discount shoots up.
Also when they got you the wrong item. I once ordered beef mince and they gave me lamb mince. When I complained, they just refunded the whole amount of the beef mince plus I got to keep the lamb too
This be great if only everything from Coles Express wasn't so expensive.
$5 just for a bag of toobs :(Protip: don't cancel your free dash pass well in advance because it ends immediately, not on the renewal date. Set a calendar reminder (or two).
Been wanting to talk about Doordash delivery radius so will comment on this :P
They increased the delivery radius for the last few months - in some cases places really far away, but I would order from where somewhat reasonable distance.
But in the last week it has gone back to how it used to be, so no longer loading my account up with discount gift cards as all the places near me are pretty average.
Not sure if the radius situation the same for others.
