This company is going into Liquidation. Just an FYI. May or may not mean anything to the consumer.

    • Yeah it's probably why their selling this monitor for a discount….

    • +3

May mean you might not get the item or a refund!

      • -5

…but your credit card company will refund you either way, so no big deal.

Don't use a debit card for purchasing online - you're risking your money rather than the bank's.

        • is that true? You can still chargeback a debit card AFAIK

          • @fredblogs: Yes you can - but you've lost the money during the process !

With a credit card, it's the bank's money in dispute - you're not out of pocket whilst you wait for a resolution.

      • +1

Let's gamble with banks money~! The Ozbargain way.

    • Good riddance!

    • +27

This business has had a bad track record of taking people’s money for GPUs and not delivering or even notifying customers of an ETA.
I would avoid for that reason alone but that it’s going into liquidation is very scary. Big red flag!
Negging due to issue with store

Customers will likely get better odds at a casino.

    • -3

      Gigabyte???

      How did that happen???

      • +5

The seller of the monitor, Rosman Computers, not Gigabyte.

    • Why would they still trade when it is going to be wound up?

      • Because they still can. No reason not to want to make money just because are going under.

        • +1

another loop hole for stealing money, take customer money but never deliver item!

  • +1

    add should read GAMING TV

    • +2

      It doesn't include a tuner.

      • yeah doesn't have any tuner/smart TV functions.

sure if u want it as a pure Console gaming TV that world work but yeah, its a monitor that won't fit on most people desks.

  • this is effectivly a LG C1 right so yeah pretty great deal, still have the danger with OLED as a monitor with burn in especially if you use it heavily for work etc.(i know linus tech tips had a video about it.)

  • +2

Liquidation? Sweet I thought, cheap motherboards!

Nope, some of the highest prices I've seen in Australia, by far.

  • The new range of Aorus should be out by 3rd quarter this year. That’ll include the 42” version

    • +1

Yeah but will be 2x price for that price better to go with lg c2

    • I believe the 48" and under models still use the same panel tech as the current gen, so unless the 42" version works better for you, i dont think there should be much difference performance wise.

      • This price point is really good but will be too big for my use case even on a 1800 x 750 mm desk.

        • Really have you tried it?

          • @Danneo: I’ve had a 43” LG and that’s the max I’d go. Currently running a 38” ultrawide Alienware which missed out the 4K render from a PS5

      • Mate TV version comes with superior functions, not to mention LG TVs has full bandwidth HDMI 2.1s whereas FO48U caps at 24Gbps and terrible OSD features, only upside for FO48U is it has DP input but you can use GSYNC on HDMI ports now, trust me cos I have FO48U. I only bought it because it's 40% cheaper.

        • …and USB C and USB hub functionality that was a necessity for me with my work laptop (I even have Ethernet plugged in via Ethernet-to-USB adapter and works great.

Seriously killer deal vs LG, however OSD and remote are indeed both terrible as noted.

Oh and it has been $1039 with free C&C earlier in the year when I bought mine.

PS5 still puts through 120hz, just at chroma 4:2:0, I myself don’t notice the colour difference.

        • I have it too. Who cares about 24Gbps? Any GPU after gtx10xx series supports DSC.

I'm using a 6600XT and get 4k120 4:4:4 over DP no problem. Having DP is an advantage.

OSD is fine. It's kind of unpolished firmware-wise but no major problems.

I prefer the small remote of this over a large LG TV remote.

For $1099 it's an absolute no-brainer, I have no idea why you'd pay double that for a C1.

          • @mortymorty: Dude I was talking about console gaming, and C1 was not double in price, only 50% more (potentially cheaper with jb gift cards).
Also I don't even have C1, I was talking about the shitty of this monitor, someone on reddit even have major firmware bugs, yet I chose FO48U ONLY because it's 40% cheaper, if they are the same price or say C2 is only 20% more than next gen FO48U, everyone should chose LG. (Although it seems LG tv only has about 1 year warranty, but Gigabyte warranty is crappy too).
I don't see DP 1.4 is an "advantage" as it only has 32Gbps bandwidth, all high end GPU has full bandwidth 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 ports, if I had to choose, I would definitely ditch DP 1.4 for at least 1 full HDMI 2.1

            • @rainbowyen: I don't understand what you're saying you can't do with the HDMI ports on the FO48U. I can get 4k120 from either DP or HDMI, with both freesync and g-sync and even 120Hz BFI which the C2 doesn't have.

Having DP is most definitely an advantage over not having it, as is the KVM.

Literally the only "problem" is that you have to run 4k120 at 4:2:0 from PS5 because PS5 doesn't support DSC. I've seen 4k 4:2:0 on a PC monitor and it's pretty hard to even tell. For gaming it's a complete non-issue.

I have an LG OLED as a TV as well and I much rather the OSD of the FO48U over the magic remote for a PC monitor. My LG OLED is oldish but changing something simple like contrast for example is much more fiddly than on the FO48U, although I do prefer the picture adjustments on the LG.

              I wouldn't pay 20% more for C2. Where can you get a C2 for $1318 anyway?

If I got major firmware bugs with either, I would return them.

I'm very happy with the FO48U and the price was a steal.

              • @mortymorty: Yeah that’s your personal preference, but I did not say I would pay 2x for LG. And you said who cares 24Gbps, so yes someone including me care, that’s all.

                • @rainbowyen: Why do you care though? What is it that you think you are missing out on?

The panels only support 4k120 4:4:4 at maximum. And you can use that, with the only exception being from a PS5 which doesn't output 4:4:4 anyway.

It just seems stupid to demand a bandwidth rating for no actual reason.

        • XSX supports DSC and PS5 can't output 444 anyway, only 420. So it's really a non issue for console. And as others have said, it's a non issue for modern GPUs. Pocket the deference and take the wins that come with it. Only go with the LG if you REALLY need Dolby Vision…

    • Got a link? I'd like to read up on them.

I bought one of these and it is fantastic for that price. I paid the same price (plus postage) about a month ago.

It does have some unpolished firmware issues but nothing deal breaking, just minor niggles.

I don't envy any other monitor, OLED at 120Hz is amazing and 48" is the perfect size for me.

    • How far do you sit when gaming?

      • 90cm from the screen to my eyes. I like the screen to occupy lots of my FOV. I'm not a competitive gamer though, just very casual.

        • Nice!

  • Might buy for my bedroom. Would this be a good for a ps5?

    • +1

yes, does 4k 120hz and is an oled :)

  • +1

I purchased one a month or so back. Great for the price as mentioned. It does have its quirks with multiple inputs but hopefully that will get ironed out in a future update.
48" 4k 120hz Oled for under $1100 simply cant be beat. You do need a large desk however!
I have a 1.5m x 70cm and it was far too close to me so i got a tv stand and mounted it to that, then pulled my desk back from the wall, now monitor is prob 1m away and much better

    • +1

I've done the exact same with mine, bought a tv stand and pulling my 60cm deep desk backwards.

Texts on a 150% scale works perfectly sitting 1m away from the screen.

  • +2

It has been at this price many times in the past.
    I would avoid this store.

DO NOT BUY FROM ROSMAN COMPUTERS!!!
I ordered a gpu in last year 2021 and lost ~700$. Paid with PayPal but can't get a refund.
If anyone could help me to get a refund, thank you very much.

only 1 post and this post is about the shady business, how come this deal is still here?

    • I reported it and received a message that the user is not associated. 🤷

    • +1

I actually have never bough from Rosman computers except for this monitor today. I'm looking to do a 4k gaming build and have been waiting for it to go on special for a lil bit and just thought I'd share. Bit bummed and worried hearing about some peoples experiences with them tho.

      • Hope you paid with PayPal or have some buyers protection

  • +1

1099 at UMART and guaranteed to get your monitor 😂

  • +3

I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than make a purchase from these monkeys ever again. They are disingenuous and predatory. Do not buy from them. The GPU fiasco was an absolute joke, they had my money for two and a half months stringing me along over and over, despite having the product "in stock" when I bought, apparently. Small text said it was a pre-order. Charge an exorbitant cancellation fee if you cancel order.

    • Reading these about this business, OzB should be flagging shady businesses posted for the unwary.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Rosman Computer at all costs

Ordered M27U on 1st Sep 2021, but they could not fulfill the order, decided to ask for a refund after lodging a case with Fair Trading NSW in early 2022. Guess what, monkeys at the Rosman Computer replied to Fair Trading NSW saying a refund would be processed in March 2022, and until now, I am still waiting for my $829 refund. I am going to NCAT in the coming weeks.

PS. Paypal has 6 months of buyer's protection, and credit card normally has only 120 days

    • Damn man, that sucks. Who needs that kind of hassle. They should have to pay you for your time.

    • Yes, same thing happened to me, PayPal doesn't give refund, bought in may 2021, I lost $700.

  • Did any of you fixed the burn in protection msg ? how did you fixed this? Some says you have to update the firmware.

    • Press the OK button on the remote.

  • Looks like price is done anyway, showing as $1853.00 now

  • Did anyone received the products from Rosman Computers yet ??

    • +1

i got mine this afternoon.. was worried but got it.
Hope you got your as well

      • Wow good for you. I didnt order yet, I will hold onto my money abit longer.
